- Robert Smalls was an absolute savage that lived from 1839-1915. Serving in the Civil War and on the U.S. Congress, along with a bunch of other dope stuff, Smalls embodies everything that's great about America.
These short videos will not be replacing my normal ones. I actually made this for a school project and figured that I might as well upload it here too.

Why did they think that leaving a confederate ship with a black man who knows how to sail a ship was a good idea?
They were some dumb dumbs. The officers were later court marshaled by the CSA. They must’ve felt pretty stupid.

A few black men were actually Confederate Navy ship pilots. Men like Moses Dallas. See my channel.
Apparently it wasn't just Smalls but also seven other crewmen led by him. And they apparently managed to pick up some of their families before going to the Union side. The story keeps getting better the more you look into it.
Also, can we appreciate the fact that the ship was named USS Planter?
