That's YOUR "moral of the story."
True indeed!
Also never let an opportunity to learn something pass you by….his willingness to learn to pilot the boat and give the correct hand signals
Bravery and Death defying Courage to the End.
My first time ever hearing this story . I was definitely enlightened! You got my follow, will definitely be looking out for more content !
They should make this to a movie.
Really proud to hear these stories in the UK as they're hidden from us, the only thing is that we as a race are too forgiving, massa's wife would have had her butt drop kicked back down those long steps and out the gate for all the pain suffering and death that she was part of.
Too forgiving is right. And forgiving to everyone but each other.
@@islandgurl4927 true that!!!
This guy was amazing. Why is his life not more known?
Come on, we know why. Haha we know the "people" that hate to put these stories out.
NAT TURNER "VIBES" 👁️👀🧐🤔🪶🌄🙌👑🙌🌻😂🌻💥☘️💞💯✅🪶🌄⚡
Those who take a sincere big risk have greater advantage than the consequence, when they lost their life in the process, they're remembered, when they succeeded their names is forever written to be remembered.
And the LORD Sabaoth: the Holy One of Israel blessed this Judahite man from the Tribe of Judah to inherit the Earth! Arise O’ Israel!!!! 🙌🏾🕎💙🤍💜🕊

What a great story & thank you for sharing.
A man after my own heart ❤️❤️❤️!!!
Robert Small was a true hero and a kind man too.
And he was a great Republican leader and statesman - he fought the racist policies of the slavery-lovin’ Democratic Party throughout his entire life.
@@kingjs3807yahoo That was back then when Republicans were good people and certainly not southerners. As soon as white southerners left the Democratic party and joined the Republican party then the Republican Party became super racist and super evil.
@@kingjs3807yahooYes. He was a great _liberal_ republican leader. He did in fact aid the *_Northern liberal_* Republicans in the fight against the *conservative* policies of the slavery-lovin *_Southern_* Democrats.
Wow! Such a magnificent and brave man. The history books need to be written over to tell the truth!
I've known of this remarkable man since high school.I'm going to write a email to Steven Spielberg not spike lee but i would love to have Tyler Perry involved it would be FANTASTIC
What a smart, brave and kind man.
I like how he just didnt use his struggles to abandon the woman he fell in love with and their children.
Today is the day he gave shelter to the former lady of the plantation. ( May 2023). A very great American indeed, Robert Smalls was. 🙏🏽
Thank you for sharing this story.. because I never heard of about him, please share more of kind of story..
This is my hero.
Awesomeness! So inspiring!
The best part is where he takes his old mistress in. He must have been a good man.
Wonderful bio of Robert Smalls. A book, a movie, and a play would be a great honor to him and all survivors.
I heard of him in 1980.I was in third grade at that time.
Personally I’ve heard about him since high school. I’m 27 now.
This is why history books need to be rewritten.
This is truly truly amazing and what a brave man! I was never taught about this man and the brave act he did. My child needs to know their BLACK HISTORY and the schools system doesn’t want to teach them so it’s our job to do it.
Very wise
A real American hero!
Hurray for Robert Smalls!
Smalls did something super large!!!!!! That man was highly intelligent!!!
WOW 😮 amazing man. Thank you for sharing his story. ❤️Jodie 🇦🇺
I am surprised this attempted feat was not scuppered.
There’s always a betrayer in the midst for the reward of a plate of meat and grits- one plate mind you!
I wish we weren't so freggin forgiving 😕 😔
We're nice to everybody but ourselves
Went back an bought tha House huh? Very Inspiring🤘🏾💯
when a historical Monument is taken down put a statue of someone like this up. If you don't you're not teaching a damn thing
