My grandfather, Don Goldsmith, started the Beloit horseshoe club in his backyard in the 60s. He recently passed, and his namesake tournament, in which I will be participating, is soon. I am grateful this video exists, so I can refresh my memory before the tournament :)
I have the best luck holding it the 3rd way he showed with the flip. I was so hot one day I threw 7 ringers in a row just fooling around, wasn't playing a game. I was 19 at the time and there was a girl from the neighborhood I liked watching me pitch and she was so impressed that IO threw 7 ringers in a row she went out with me after. 👍 She was saying "OMG I can't believe you're doing that!!" LOL Goes to show you don't have to be a rock star to get chicks! Horseshoes will do!
horseshoes is a big game where I come from I try and play everyday I'm hoping the money and pay goes up into 50.000 thousand the game deserves that much it's been around for years...thank you
i have a good idea for short story horror novel. the pits come alive during a game. swallowing up the guys when they step in to retrieve the shoes,(the pits are extremely angry hard metal is repeatly thrown at their pride phallic) burying them deep below. stephen king can write it. yeah i know. anyway, i would like to see Stephen Wright play Danny Devito a game.
