In this video I will be making a super easy seaweed salad using wakame. It's quick, nutritious, and great to have on hand.
Ingredients:
2.5 cups chopped dried wakame (about 2 oz)
4 green onions ( aka scallions)
4 tbsp chopped cilantro
2 tsp grated ginger
3 minced garlic cloves
2 tbsp sesame seed oil
6 tbsp rice vinegar
6 tbsp Braggs Liquid Aminos or Soy sauce
1 tsp sugar
½ to 1 tsp red pepper flakes

Fueru Wakame package says nothing about cooking. My wife is half Japanese and we've used this recipe many times. Never been sick or unable to digest this. Mother in Law Lumiko told me it doesn't need to be cooked. Nice recipe Kitchen Cauldron
Very nice and delicious recipe,
Thank you ❤
I love toasted sesame oil too 😋

Simple and easy. Thanks so much!!!
I'm going to try this recipe! It looks super delicious.
+Jonathan Biddle Thank you!!!! Let me know how it goes :-)
👍Make sure the Wakame is cooked but I could eat that whole bowlful myself. I love it. 💞
Thank you.
Nice recipe!! Thank you for sharing! ...but what is liquid aminos?
Mmmmm, thank you
Thanks, will try this later.
+My Drawing Tutorials Thank you for the comment. I hope you like it.
Can’t possibly mean 2.5 cups of dried wakame. 2-1/2 cups after soaking is more likely.

Yeah, this would definitely end up in a portion for a huge family... 😄
Is this like the seaweed salad that they have at Poke Bowl places?
Thanks, I always boiled the seaweed, seems I don’t have to?
I was wondering how to make it with fresh seaweed, the plant being harvested directly from the sea and have it lived without salt.
Hello, it looks very delicious but I'm wondering, how much of this salad you can consume daily in order not to overdose of iodine intake? :)
Sesame seeds.. needs Sesame seeds
Question:: If you squeeze out the water will you squeeze out the nutrients?
I'm here for iodine recipes to decalcify my pineal gland. My intuition is getting stronger about 75% accurate. So, I'm here to get my other 25%.
Hi! Do you think I can substitute rice vinegar with ACV or coconut vinegar?
I would imagine you could. Taste it, and if it is to your liking, go for it!
The wakame is salty on it's own . The Bragg liquid aminos contain 320 milligrams salt per teaspoon. Not recommended for high blood pressure .
Is the water hot or room temperature?
The process of growing seaweed looks scary haha
now I know how to deal with that kind of food.
Wooooow
Thank you

Don't we have to blanch the wakame for a while?
No just soaking in water is good enough
Wakame needs to be cooked to be digested. I have cooked with wakame for many years. Depending where your wakame is grown, some can very tough. I have made salads with wakame and always cook it first.
Am i the only who hate seaweed and think it tastes so gross
Yes......yes you are
