    Don't forget to use the water from soaking the wakame for your garden (as long as you are using dried, not salted wakame) for all the nutrients that the plants love~!

    Oh so good 😋 I am so happy I found your recipe. Thank you! All that time I spent at the market trying to find ingredients I know nothing about paid of, cuz it was super tasty. I forgot to get the Korean red pepper powder so I used garlic powder instead. Other mods: no sesame oil just sesame seeds, I used organic stevia instead of sugar, & I used Coconut Aminos instead of soy sauce.

    Thank you so much for posting this step by step recipe. This is the best I have found for sure. I found a 1lb wakame on amazon for $35 with sign-up plant to ship every 6 months (cheapest I could find) and agar on ebay.

    I never would have thought of using wood ear. This is like a surf-and-turf salad! I like the idea of adding the texture of wood ear fungus to sea weed.
    Just a head's up, I tried this using dried wakame. That stuff seems expensive, but when you rehydrate it, it gets ALOT bigger, like ten times the dry bulk.

    Please tell me why the Wakame in yours looks like leaves, but the one frozen prepackaged is thin strips? Is there a way to do this? I don't really like the leafy texture but I love the frozen seaweed salad, would like to make it at home. Is it really Wakame Seaweed?

    • @TheArtOfCooking
      @TheArtOfCooking  10 років тому +4

      So the strips are Wakame Stems, which are difficult to find as I myself are looking for them.

    • @joegt123
      @joegt123 8 років тому

      +Jewelle Williams There's dozens of different types. It's like different kinds of lettuce and cabbage. Whether or not you can grab shit straight from the beach is entirely dependent on where you live and how clean the water is there.
