At last I have hope to get parsley, lettuce and celery sprouted.
We call it coco coir, from home depot
Very helpful. Thank you soon much
You are welcome
You would use less seeds if you just cut strips of paper towel spread the damp seeds evenly along it. When it dries out just lay the strips with the seeds stuck too it out in your soil trenches, cover it with your coir and remoisten it. The paper towel is biodegradable, will also help keep your seeds moist.
There are available ready made paper seed strips today, and they are not much more expensive, than ordinary ones ; ) but yes, earlier we all family also sat around the kitchen table in spring and stick small seeds on those toilet paper strips, nice childhood memories! 😄👍
Yes, I showed this option with sowing carrot seeds. I have a lot of lettuce seeds, I collect them myself, so I sow a lot and then as the lettuce grows, I thin it out and eat it, so nothing is wasted.
Thanks 😊

👍👏👏👏
My ancestors, including my granny, mom and me personally, grow greens for hundreds of years on the bank of the Baltic sea without any coconut substrate. We don`t have monkeys and palms with coconuts here, but we do have a lot of swamps with a turf. It `s much better, and completely for free in our latitudes, why to make problems?? )))
Do you mean to say that all people on the planet live on the shores of the Baltic Sea or that they have free access to turf?
Because we are not growing annuals in the place of origin. So soils in my country Australia have different sources that go into making turf, soil. If we don’t do certain things and feed our soil certain nutrients we will not have a successful harvest.
