I know the movie had some flaws, but being Mexican there’s some scenes that just 100% hit home especially with the dad. The suit was definitely one of the highlights and was shocked to find out it was practical. That’s why I had to cop these figures, I just wish either one was battle damaged or came with an unmasked head or as you said, the light up sections. But definitely this needed the pincers without the wings. It just brings the whole look together

I personally went for the Blue Beetle Blue Beetle Blue Beetle over the Blue Beetle Blue Beetle Battle Mode Blue Beetle. The arm canon was a necessity for me.
I think you're missing the obvious reason to buy more: to give every Batman with black hands thumbs up and peace sign hands. They do skew a bit metallic black but I think they'll work with the Clooney and Kilmer Batmen. As an aside, I recently discovered the gold mine of accessory swaps: Inque as Batman Beyond. She comes with two gripping hands and two style pose hands and probably every Batman Todd has released with black gloves is missing at least one of those. In fact, the Batman movie 6 pack and Keaton with Batmobile are ALL fists only. So an Inque will allow Keaton to actually hold the Batmobile steering wheel. Inques can routinely be found for around $8 and despite much of the figure having a blue tinge, the gloved are solid black. But wait! There's more. Probably 3/4ths of the Supermen released in this line have stubby necks. But there is a solution. The default neck peg on the Infected body is ludicrously short. But Inque has a neckpeg with two identical ball joints the same size but on a peg that's probably 4 times as long! So literally every $8 Inque lets you customize hands for two Batmen AND fix one Superman's neck proportions. Sure, you can buy hands and neck pegs on eBay but Inque can be found with free shipping and gets you one neck peg and four hands. AND an extra stand once you pitch the rest of the figure. That's essentially not possible for $8 any other way! But also save those tiny Superman neck pegs because some characters' heads also sit too high, particularly Keaton Batmen. The unmasked version especially but, really, all of them. So you end up with a chain reaction of fixes.
I also think the Target single pack Ted Kord is a CLOSE but not perfect match for retail Knightfall Batman so you can probably get him karate chopping or pointing with some of those hands. Or give Ted a right gripping hand or left fist.

I’m not too upset about having to pay double for the figure. Blue Beetle has always been one of my favorites and I could never pull the trigger on icons due to the over inflated second hand prices so to get a new one for almost half the price as well as with more accessories was an easy buy for me.
I managed to get both for $19.99, I got the winged version holding the sword with the gun arm on my movie display, and the regular release with the disc weapon on my desk! Great review I totally agree with how well detailed he is, I see somethin new everytime
I saw the movie on Thursday and I LOVED IT. Representation matters and I can proudly say I was represented. As much as I’m bummed that we had to buy 2, I was gonna get them regardless. I was going to use one for the movie and one for my “titans” display. The figures are a perfect 5/5.
That head sculpt for that classic tim drake figure doesn’t look right. Also I wish he was a bit shorter because he’s supposed to be short in comparison to characters like Batman and nightwing. Though this blue beetle looks pretty impressive for what it’s worth. Keep up the great work Jason!
Kind of upset they had the wings attached to the spikes. Which in the movie he literally has them on him the whole time. I hope I’m the figure they give us another version with the spikes and without the wings on them
It was fine, but I had a hard time getting into it. I was upset and distracted by personal stuff that happened earlier in the day, so I may need to give it a second chance now that I am in a better headspace.
Personally, I liked the wings. For one thing it makes for fun flying pose options, and like I said it is the only way to get the legs things that come off his shoulders, which I do feel is a crucial element of his design. The hands also add a lot of variety. I'm glad I got both, but if I couldn't that is the one for me. But if you prefer weapons, the sword and blaster are pretty sweet. I don't recall seeing him use the discs in the movie
If Todd ever starts trying to solve diapering and give thigh rotation, i might have a lot better argument for him being one of the best toy lines out there!!🤷♂️😕
All i keep seeing is posts, saying Blue beetle is set to bomb at the box office....which is a shame, bc its a great family movie. Nothing AMAZING, the graphics looked unfinished or rushed at times, , but still better than 90% of what marvel has put out recently, especially in the feeling department. This figure, me and my son found at target for 19.99, we put down our 25 dollar marvel legend and got a much better figure for less!!
Yeah the Blue Beetle figure is really great for the price, and I agree that the movie was fun and had heart. Effects wise, it was a million times better than the Flash. Hopefully it will at least do well on streaming.
I think the reason he is so accurate is that Warner sent McFarlane the digital model from the movie and then they added articulation, so the wrist ball added some length. As for the skinny thing, honestly he is really skinny in the movie
