All I can say is, Wow, every time I watch this I wonder what Courtney was thinking when she shared some of this with MTV... from 4/14/94 - Hmm 3 thumbs down in less than 12 hours is it because people don't like the upload or Courtney's actions... there is a lot of misinformation shortly after something happens until the facts come out. Think about all the people that 'saw explosions' or 'saw a missile' strike the WTC. Total bullshit, all of it. But the mind can play tricks.

Who in the hell commits suicide with a 20 gauge? I mean, if it was me and my luck, a 20 gauge suicide attempt would most likely have me waking up in a hospital bed missing an eye or ear, but wouldn't get the job done.
So much of this is just not factual. Kurt was not sitting on a chair looking out the window, nor was the damage from the blast so severe that he had to be identified be fingerprints.

What I don’t understand is that if you look at the photo of the shotgun, you will realize that it is far too long for someone to reach out to use their thumb to pull the trigger with the barrel in his mouth. And he sure didn’t use his toes because crime scene photos show him in shoes.

Loved him and loved his music. When I first heard Nirvana I couldn't believe how good they were. Their music, back in the early 90's, sent a shock through your system. They were amazing. They probably were my generations (Gen X) Beatles.

Off that he says Kurt could only be identified through fingerprints..get Kris Novaselic gave an interview over here with the BBC a while back & described visiting Kurt's body in the undertakers.He said that they'd placed some kind of handkerchief or something across the top part of his head but that he just looked like Kurt sleeping.In fact he said the fact that he just looked asleep shocked him & it was when he held Jury's hand and felt how freezing cold he was that he ended up having nightmares afterwards..the magnitude of what had happened just hit him! Maybe they chose not to embark him & not do too much to his body hence covering his head with a cloth to cover up any obvious damage.Wonder why this reported is saying the complete opposite ???

My husband just died of an o.d. If ANYONE dare blamed me, they clearly do not have a clue into any couples secrets and details. Nobody can talk . I feel for her. I found my husband. At first his mother came to our apt screaming at e because she was not allowed up. I couldn't help her. Now she's my mother. U can't judge unless u were at the scene! I knew it was an accident. From the way my husband is, as was later confirmed. U can't judge? Who the hell r u? Did u live with them?
Corinne, I feel for you 100 percent. I think the problem is that Seattle PD did not follow proper procedure. I would hope that the PD where you live took the time to make sure that it wasn't a murder that was trying to be covered up. If there was a weapon involved hopefully it was impounded and checked for prints IMMEDIATELY, not two years after. My professional opinion is that this may have been murder and until this case is reopened and ALL the evidence is put forth there is no way of knowing. Ms. Love was not a caring, loving wife. Read interviews with her before his death. She was horrible to him and was after his money. She even said that she didn't love him like a woman loves a man, she loved him as a "friend". She fell "in love" with his nose. She also had fallen in love with Axl Rose's nose, and she chased after him first. I'm not saying she did anything, I don't know, I wasn't there. BUT I DO KNOW that Seattle PD screwed up, and they don't want to let anyone see that they may have made numerous errors.
The police department I was employed with for 17 years does the same thing. They screw up horribly, many times. I actually saw a woman kill another woman, but the officer reporting didn't want to write down what I saw because of the "paperwork". I am embarrassed to say that I didn't do anything about it at the time, because I needed the job. I'm sure it is the same at Seattle PD.

Here is all the misinformation in this clip:
1. Right off the bat, mentioning that his stomach problem lead him to take drugs makes it sound like he killed himself over that. In 1993 Kurt said his stomach problem had been resolved and he wasn’t in pain anymore - here is a link

2. Implying that Kurt had attempted suicide in Rome. It was not a suicide attempt and even the doctor that helped him said so.
3. Kurt didn’t buy the gun - his friend did. He was concerned about safety, not “planning to take his own life” - this is likely also why the electrician who found his body was there to install a home security system.
4. There was no chair. Kurt was found laying on the floor. No chair in sight. There are photos. Unless this was referring to the stool that was said to be propped up against the doors of the greenhouse, but that is also false - the stool was on the other side of the room.
5. The physical damage was not so severe that he couldn’t be identified. That is such a fucking lie! The bullet didn’t even leave Kurt’s head. There was later a claim that he could only be identified by his ID - the story changed again but it was still false. By the way, they hadn’t even checked for fingerprints yet since this was only a week after - they waited like 30 days!
6. Kurt’s mom did NOT file the missing persons report - Courtney did it in his mom’s name. Also, Kurt didn’t exactly “flee”... he just checked himself out.
And of course the whole “he committed suicide” is misinformation. Seriously, all but 5 months ago I was a HUGE Courtney fan and defended her constantly. I looked into Kurt’s death to prove all those conspiracy theorists wrong. That’s how I saw the truth. Kurt was murdered. Interesting how the majority of this misinformation comes from Courtney.

Honestly, I've got to come back to this at a later date because it's so depressing. I just 'discovered' Nirvana in late Sept 2013 and I'm still in the stages of grief that Kurt is dead. Love #Nirvana, love Kurt #Cobain, am inspired by him, hate that he's gone, however that happened. And as with everything Nirvana/Kurt Cobain, there seems to be at least three versions of anything that they ever did. It's 20 years later and I don't hold much hope for ever finding out the truth. This aired on April 14th 1994, my 3rd birthday....we had MTV and VH1 on in my house all the time when I was a young kid, there is a chance my dad was watching this in real time as it aired, he loves music and loved Nirvana, AIC, soundgarden all of the grunge bands. This just gives me chills like nothing else...

Actually his head and face was still intact. He had a bulge on the right side of his head around his temple, and of course the inside of his mouth was pretty fucked up. He used a Remington 20 guage bird shot.
Remember this all like it was yesterday. It's gross to say, but it's true that Kurt killing himself made Nirvana's music seem that much more legit. He represented all your anger and insecurity and depression and teenage angst, and when he died for it you knew he meant it. Sick, but easy to see why some fans followed suit.
I don't think Courtney or anybody killed the guy - that he was suicidal and wanted to die screams at you from every page of his life, every lyric he wrote - i.e. a song called "I Hate Myself and Want to Die," for fuck's sake. Look on the bright side, suicide. Courtney I'm sure was a handful to deal with, quite possibly not the best influence on a suicidal drug addict, and people have always been more than willing to pound her with the "zeitgeist snowball," but did she plot to murder Kurt and frame it as a suicide, I fucking seriously doubt it.
Later in my 20's I was with a dude for 3 years, mild drugger and drinker when we met, became a major leaguer as things went on, and things got VERY ugly, I left to save my own life, and 3 months later he hung himself. Honestly kind of a similar arch. His parents blamed me for it at the funeral. Should I have seen and known, fucking of course. Nothing worse than 20/20 hindsight on a suicide. But nobody can really be blamed for somebody choosing to do that to himself. Not even a bitch that everybody hates and wanted to see burned at the stake regardless.

4:15 : at that point, playing the "Unplgged" set on the radio meant playing bootleg stuff :) There were lots of bootleg CDs made from the TV broadcasts in 1994 before the official "Unplugged in NY" album came out at the end of the year.

I feel that part of Kurt's pain was the disillusionment he felt about society and his place in it along with the people around him. Even though he was rich, famous and millions of people heard and loved his music, perhaps he felt they really didn't know or understand him. I think he was right because it all came to the surface after his death. Perhaps suicide was a way for Kurt to take control of his destiny at a time when he felt so out of control. Maybe it was also a statement that people couldn't control him in the music industry or feel like they owned him just because they bought his records. I doubt Kurt would even want people to mourn his death. He left us with some great music and he felt he gave all he had to give and no longer had the energy to go on with his life. Perhaps he also felt his best years were behind him and there was nothing to look forward to and the effects of depression are brutal as well and the hardest thing anyone can deal with because it's so out of their control. Of course this is all speculative but I too am one of those assholes that has their opinion about certain things based on their own experiences, gut reactions or pre-conceived notions.
At 14 I didn’t really understand what had happened, in truth I’m still not sure I am any closer to understanding why Kurt did what he did. It’s more upsetting now, with two children of my own and I simply could not imagine leaving them. I will always love Nirvana but just wished that things could have been different and Kurt had been able to access the help and support that he needed. You should give me the source of that study of the heroin concentration. If you're referring to the study in the Kurt & Courtney documentary its wrong; they later admitted that the study in that movie was actually methadone and it was taken orally, so there is no comparison there. They apologized for the mistake after the movie was released but it was already to late.

back in 1994 i read an article where kurt said he spent about 600 to 700 dollar a day on his habit. i remember reading that it always stuck with me. it also said, "i get ripped off. Drug dealers dont care im a celebrity. I dont get deals." i quoted that, but might not be exact tho its what he said... maybe a few diff words but same thing... so even tho courtney if wrong here cause i cant believe 28grams! but 600 dollars a day is a lot! even at 100$ a bundle.

NO way was she capable of being instrumental in settling up some sort of elaborate suicide ' hoax'.I' m a true Generation X' er & one thing I know from listening to those first bootleg tapes I got sent from the US of Soundgarden & AIC..and seeing Nirvana play when they were just a support act is that for Kurt & Chris Cornell it was sadly pre-order determined from an early age that their demise would be at their own hand ..lyrically repeated by both men for years . .I used to work in the field of mental health ,I also got a diagnosis once upon a time in the late 90' s of Bipolar after I too took a massive overdose..Leading up to it even though my life was talking apart I seemed ' ok' was laughing & joking..My friend committed suicide 15yrs ago at the age of just 29 ,he'd become a new father & was a great dad..depression doesn't discriminate ,doesn't matter if you're living in the street or a multi millionaire in a rock band..depression KILLS..I cried when Kurt Cobain died ,cried when Chris Cornell died too ( very same day my own father died too 😢) but was I surprised that either had committed suicide...no ,not a tall.Can't believe he's been gone 27 yrs..been dead for the same amount of years he was on the planet ,born in 1967 like me .

All I can say is I did a line of heroin once. Never did it before. I cut it out like coke, like an idiot. All I know is I felt like I was getting drunker and drunker till I felt I was gonna pass out. Then I did. Lucky I woke up, cause that's how you die, respiratory depression and such. That was years ago and everytime I hear of H it makes me physically sick. I'd never touch another opiate in my life. Now alcohol, that's a whole 'nother story...

The amount kurt had in his system was 3 times higher then any amounts recorded for even sever addicts. There has never been one documented case that resembles kurts heroin levels.

Kurt chased fame very hard in the lead up to Nevermind - was running around LA with Krist getting wined and dined by the big labels, finding lawyers to get Nirvana out of contract with Sub Pop, trying to get a big name to manage the band.
