Very interesting, I was diagnosed 20 years ago with ADHD and am also very sensitive to criticism. I’m 62 years old male and live alone. As I age I find myself ruminating about conversations I haven’t had yet. Getting frustrated and angry that I won’t be heard. To be fair, I did grow up with an abusive father that was also extremely sensitive. I could go on. Please do more content about ADHD. I find it calming. Thank you

I love your insight. Funny story: The other day I was feeling like that and was able to jiggle myself out of it when I thought "hm I've seen them disrespecting their children and spouse, but they should respect me?" it made me laugh and become more aware of how I carry this fear around -- of not being respected. However, again, ppl who are not respectful treat their close ones like that, they really do. I think the ADHD, or the tendency toward that, can rob one of the calm needed in some cases, then we feel helpless realistically at times but even over-project,. That all said, it keeps us humble on our road to full potential :)

You're right. There are too many people seemingly calling 80% of their exes narcissists.
Some and many have narcissistic traits.
Please do make that educational session. It would come in handy. Peace

Thank you for this! Yes, I would very much appreciate information on how to speak to people with ADHD so they don’t feel attacked and get defensive.

That's what I don't like about myself. When someone criticizes my act I feel something intense in my body. I know very well that their criticism is constructive but no matter what I do to decrease my reaction and sensitivity, it still feels like shit.

I know this feeling all too well. 😑
I've learned to manage reframing the experience by genuinely accepting having made a mistake, holding the other party accountable to explain to me how i need to perform the next time around _and_ by considering myself a "work in progress", not a finished product.
By now (~3yrs later) it has become more an itch that requests some scratching than the hot boiling sensation that was about to pop my head off. 🌱

No worry!!, people with real NPD would Never worry about that at all.
They dont think about stuff like that.
They only care about finding narcissistic supply for the day, in any shape or form possible to avoid feeling awful.
They dont care if other people suffer as long as They Dont Have to.
Yes we can feel sorry for them on a deeper level (becouse we have empathy) but the problem is trying to love them and "heal" them is impossible.

Great point. However, I legit know someone with BOTH ADHD and NPD. This person also has Bipolar Disorder!
Also, HOW am I supposed to tell someone with ADHD they are making a terrible mistake and phrase it like a compliment?
    Thanks.

Just need to say that bipolar (BD) is far too often confused with borderline personality (BPD).

Why ADHD are sensitive to critisism has simply to do with that they endure more critisism than others due to the diagnos. And over load of critisism makes them want to defend themselves because it isn't malicious.. it's not a mysterious neurological thing to be sensitive to critisism. It's a result of how they have been growing up! Very easy psychology!

I can agree in part with your breakdown/separating of behavior. I focus on an individuals intent. I'm also not really interested in the continual slicing and redefining of human behavior. Know one's self and everyone else is without their mask.

We are all unique and would end up always behaving in a certain way
Purpose of life is to make ourselves so strong as to find happiness no matter how tough the environment which includes relationships
Take everything in life as a play which is going definitely to end some day
Swallow this pill of life joyfully

Narcissism/ADHD/Dark Tetrad Whatever it is does not excuse bad behavior at the end of the day. Around 20% of the population exists on the Dark Tetrad spectrum.

I lost my job once due to rejection sensitivity dysphoria and was about to lose it a second time, but the covid pandemic and working from home saved me. My professional career was a mess. I'm now going to retire in 2 years. Your explanation came too late for me, but thanks anyway
P.S. How do you deal with erotic transference?

You don't understand Narcissism if you say this. First of all, NPD is up to 5%, the 1% is old statistics. Second, Narcissistic traits, tendencies and styles are wayyy more prevalent than those 20% of "sub clinical adhd". I would argue overall, that it is in the majority of the population.

Women have AD(H)D as often as men, but they tend to have it without the H, thus they mostly aren't noticed and undiagnosed. And men with ADD (like me) also.
Narcisissm is not limited to only the full-grown personality disorder, but also means narcissistic personality structures, which can be seen quite often.
Aaand... *drum roll* people with AD(H)D are 80% more likely to be diagnosed with narcissism and/or borderline.

Ok - sound logical. So how to speak with vast person and and tell them unplesant truth and not to lie with compliments not on time? From other point shouldnt vast people recognize their problem and also put extra effort into communication?

But what is the criticism? The content of the criticism is key. If it’s a criminal offense and they get defensive, Narcissistic For Sure!!!! If you’re attributing to behavior that’s not ill intended but maybe not socially handy, yeah then I get what you’re saying. The nature of the behavior should be looked at, not just diagnostic babble.
