Discovery pays roughly R23 million a month for its new head office in Sandton. The building has a roof-top running track, food court, Woolworths, Starbucks, soccer and basketball fields, sky bar, smoking lounge and gymnasium that can accommodate 3,000 members. Developed at R3 billion, the building brought together Discovery’s various units under one roof.
A 15-year lease arrangement between Discovery and property groups Growthpoint and Zenprop sees the insurer fork out R23m per month in rent for its Sandton headquarters. Growthpoint owns 55% of the property, while Zenprop owns the other 45%.
The building has a large gymnasium facility and a host of other amenities.
Discovery, which operates in over 19 countries, including the United States and United Kingdom, grew profits by 17% in 2018 to R8.26 billion.
Boeing 737 can be suspended from the building’s west atrium without it touching sides, this is how big the building is. The building can house a thousand employees per floor, with a total of 7,000 employees working from the office.

For me that's the best building
Design in the whole country
i started my career in this building in 2018, best place ever.
I was a kid when they were building Sandton City and remember sneaking inside during construction. Fun times.

You can go inside. You dont have to be an employee. They have stores inside where you can buy groceries or even get a cappucino.
