Listening to you say it's ok if things aren't perfect inspires me to continue quilting. I made my first quilt in September, and it was because of you. It is a rag quilt, I had a lot of fun making it. I am working on my first crumb quilt. It's not going as fast, but I will get there. Thanks for the inspiration to enjoy the process and projects that we make.
I love it 🎉. And I'm almost done with my version of it. It was such a beautiful journey through the year. I wish I could see everyone of these Darlene inspired quilts. Greetings from Germany
It’s such an awesome adorable quilt! Respect for finishing it over A YEAR! I let our dogs and cats sleep on my quilts, they don’t hurt them at all, Rocket would love it. Keep it out where you can admire it daily! You joked about greatness but I call it greatness ❤
Celebrate Darlene, well done. So glad you are keeping the quilt and that you will use it and enjoy its beauty. It is a great reminder of how wonderful you are in so many ways.
Darlene this was an epic journey working on this along with you and I am thrilled to be almost finished with mine. Apparently I was a glutton for punishment because I decided to add a little bit of bling or embroidery to each specialty block and do the twelve blocks of Christmas scrappy quilt too. I’m with you in the love hate relationship but they both were so worth it! Thank you, thank you, thank you amazing utube friend.❤
I really love the big stitch quilting. I used it on a quilt I just finished for my granddaughter, but mine isn't as nice and even as yours! I think it'll be even prettier after washing it! I definitely want to do it again, only next time I won't be backing it with MINKY (what a nightmare to keep that from moving too much). Thanks for sharing!
Darlene, is is soooo gorgeous! I remember your crumb quilts and other tops that were very artistic like this. I’m so glad you are keeping it! After seeing the finish quilt I want to try big stitch quilting like this. Such an inspiration. I can see in your eyes how much you love it! 👏 👏 👏
Very pretty! I have done big stitch table runners and they were fun to do.i would love to do a rag quilt like yours it's so beautiful love it!! Thank you for sharing😊
I absolutely love the quilt. I just finished mine. I have two more rows to sew together I made 24 blocks. I’m just in love thank you for doing this tutorial.
I made all the blocks. I haven't quilted it yet. I am not doing the big stitich quilting; but, your big stitich quilting looks very nice. I also did the Christmas blocks and I am trying my hand at hand quilting on it. I am sure my hand quilting is not the best but oh well, I am trying. I had been wanting to do a block of the month for a long time so Thank You Very Much for hanging in there!!!
Oh my gosh , Darlene !!! This was such a fun project to follow you on, and....this quilt turned out amazing. YOU DID SUCH A BEAUTIFUL JOB. HOORAY FOR YOU. Darlene, you are an amazing artist. Shared on my Twitter.
The quilt looks terrific, congratulations!🎉 I love the idea of doing the big stitch quilting in the large blocks. It will look great on your bed and will make everyone happy, including Rocket, whenever they walk into your place.🏆
I absolutely love it! I’m excited that you’ve decided to keep it! It is a masterpiece! I love the big stitch quilting!❤ I’m looking forward to seeing what you have in store for 2025! ❤
Beautiful! I followed this series all year, but didn't make it along with you. Seeing your finished quilt, I think I'd like to make one! Maybe I'd even consider trying to make several at the same time for auctions! (Credit for your quilt along pattern would be given of course, with your permission.) Rocket might really enjoy this blanket on car rides. I keep a small quilt displayed in my back window, and use it to cover bags or a hot car seat. Great series! I bet the final project pics will get you many, many views of the series in the future!
What a piece of art!❤️❤️❤️ I so wish I could have done this along with you. I love watching and following along. Just so you know you have helped me so much with my grief and my sewing. I have taken classes where you have to be a perfectionist so discouraging and somehow I found your UTube channel! As soon as I finish my cancer treatment I’m going back to my perfect not perfect sewing all thanks to you!❤ And I’m going to keep following all the stories and journeys of you, Joe and Rocket! Happy New Year
Absolutely beautiful! I am so happy you've completed this amazing series & quilt & that you're going to keep & enjoy it. Also can't wait to see Rocket snuggled for a nap, all cozy on your quilt. Uber well done, Darlene. 😍💖
Now you can let out a big sigh of relief. It turned out so cute. I know it had to be stressful, usually the first one is especially since you had to figure out the block sizes and what would work and what wouldn’t. I’m glad you will be keeping it. You did literally put your heart in it. Good job Darlene. Thank you for sharing with all of us. ❤️
So delighted I found you and this adorable quilt! I am making my first quilt, doing a "version" of Lori Holt's Chicken Salad quilt, and am at the point of putting it all together. Your quilt is just the style I am looking for! I hope to do your quilt as my next project. Many thanks!
Thank you again for designing this for us to make. I am making mine with a boarder. I haven’t finished it yet. I need to square them up probably tomorrow. I love it so much.
It’s beautiful. I love it. I like the shaggy part too. This took a hell of a lot of work, I know. Can you put it over the top of the couch? I hate that this stressed you. It would me too. But step back and take a good look at what you created. Pat yourself on your shoulder. 🧵🪡📍
Love this idea! Im wanting to sew about a garment a month, so doing this sort of thing might be a cool way to use up some scraps that is easier to wrap my head around that a big patchwork project.
We r in Starkville Ms with our daughters family and yes it’s raining hard! Merry 🎅 I got busy with moving and never finished mine…so congrats for you. I will finish mine in 2025!
You made a great job you need to make more and it come together so so great it’s wonderful great job keep your mind on it please keep showing us new things love it
Ive got a double bed quilt with blicks similar to the house you did that Grandmother made me when I was little. She added button doorknobs and lace curtains to the windows. And I think there were flowers in the front area..... she may have quilted those in.
Thank you for sharing your talent and tenacity, Darlene. Just a suggestion, but I'd hang it on the wall as a tapestry display. Maybe Joe could build you a ladder where you could hand it for display and take it down when you want to wrap your loved ones in it. Happy New Year!
Nothing on the walls!!! I don't even put pictures on the wall. No window treatments either. Bare. Minimalist. I don't want wall clutter. It's enough that I can't keep a table clear. I'm able to keep walls bare.
It’s just beautiful! I fell off and just did only 6 months but watched all of them. I hope you don’t let Rocket use it. My dogs always “dig” in their blankets and I’m afraid Rocket may ruin your large stitch quilting. Thank you from all of us quilters!
I love how the quilt turned out and I love the backing fabric too!
I finished mine!!!! Thank you. Thank you for the adventure! I love love love my quilt.
