People want everything for free. Unfortunately they do not have a clue about what it takes to plan and produce a u-tube channel. It's not free for you to produce, but free for them to watch. Happy 2025 to Kate and everyone on the lime green sofa. I just came back from three weeks with my family and especially my mum. We share the love for crafts and love watching Kate. So we watched a lot of footage and I had a blast. 💚
My sister in law who is a good quilter got the family (her husband,her daughter and her son and his wife, her sister, her brother and me, I am her sister in law) to make blocks for a birthday quilt for my mother in law for her 80th birthday. All us ladies love to sew and make things but the men had never even used a sewing machine. We tutored them which was fun. The resultant quilt came out beautifully and my sister in law put an explanation panel on the back showing who did what panels. Her husband now actually quilts himself and a san artist he has a great sense of colour matching. He finds the whole process really relaxing. Just goes to show that even man can enjoy the quilting process not just ladies.
Kate, I’m just now (2 days later) watching your video. I’m on the “lime green sofa”! I’m actually sitting alone in a booth eating a breakfast croissant and a delicious hot chocolate truffle drink at our lovely Stone’s Deli in the town I live in here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Even though others are chatting away, I’m able to watch your video on the lime green sofa. I’m having such a lovely time watching your videos. You are truly an inspiration to me! My 40 yo son quilted wall hangings for his sisters’ Christmas gifts (with my help). We had some similar discussions about why things had to be done a certain way. We had a wonderful time and made some great memories. His sisters cried when they received his gift. They are both quilters so know what it took for him to do it.
I never thought I could afford Liberty or Kaffe Fasset as I’m an elderly aged pensioner, however for Christmas my daughter and granddaughter gave me some fat 16th’s of both fabrics. I love them and the feel of Tana lawn is so beautiful. I also received Aurofil dove grey. I’m loving this video Kate it’s so nice to reminisce over toast quilting year and I’ve been reminded of the many things I want to create from your videos. I really like cotton/bamboo as well. I've never been huge on pink, but you sure do pinks well. Wow, 2 years ago. Time sure flies. I love that color-wash. I looked up the florescence line and the fabric photos don't do it justice. That was a nice look back through last year. You had a good year. It's funny how those pink sashings and cornerstones changed the whole look of the squares you surrounded them with. Belated Happy New Year to you and yours.
I love watching you work on that pink quilt. I have not tried hand quilting because it seems so daunting. I mainly machine quilt. But watching you take it a little at a time and drawing your lines as you go takes some of the anxiety of doing this. It seems so enjoyable and calming. Thank you.
I stumbled upon your channel awhile back, I find you and your family very warm and friendly. It’s so nice to see how you all work together. Crafting is a step away for awhile from the so called real world, time for each person and to relax. I sew a little and have never made a quilt or hand sewn but watching you inspires me to think outside the box. First of all, I love to listen to your voice and UK accent. I love hearing the little differences between our two ways of speaking English. I’d love to tell you how much I enjoy your calm voice, your humor, your lovely Anna, and Ant in your garden. The vast property where your last homely house sits is marvelous. I’ve never thought seriously of joining patreon but in your case I’m considering. Until then, thank you for your content. Oh, and especially the beautiful piano music. It’s so calm and restful, I feel it is needed to offset the political atmosphere we are living with here currently. I’ll keep watching, my friend, I love the virtual lime green sofa. I’d take the lemon macaron and some ice water. Being that I’m just starting with quilting, I got cheap fabric from Temu and have started an EPP hexagon quilt, all by hand. It’s looking very random and very much like an old fashioned rag quilt with how nothing goes or matches with anything else. I’m having a blast! Thank you for introducing me to EPP and hand quilting. The joy and relaxation I’m getting by working on this very odd looking quilt are priceless to me!

Since I began sitting on the lime green sofa, I've learned and excitedly join the gang of multi talented crafters that follow you and your friends down the Last Homely House rabbit hole. I am about to be 78 years young and have found a new path to follow that is keeping me busy, intrigued, and eager to learn more in the world of quilting. Many of my family members now have quilts I've made in their homes. This entire journey has bought me more joy, peace, laughter and new friends than I could have imagined. My 40 yo son quilted wall hangings for his sisters’ Christmas gifts (with my help). We had some similar discussions about why things had to be done a certain way. We had a wonderful time and made some great memories. His sisters cried when they received his gift. They are both quilters so know what it took for him to do it.
I never thought I could afford Liberty or Kaffe Fasset as I’m an elderly aged pensioner, however for Christmas my daughter and granddaughter gave me some fat 16th’s of both fabrics. I love them and the feel of Tana lawn is so beautiful. I also received Aurofil dove grey. I’m loving this video Kate it’s so nice to reminisce over toast quilting year and I’ve been reminded of the many things I want to create from your videos. I really like cotton/bamboo as well. I've never been huge on pink, but you sure do pinks well. Wow, 2 years ago. Time sure flies. I love that color-wash. I looked up the florescence line and the fabric photos don't do it justice. That was a nice look back through last year. You had a good year. It's funny how those pink sashings and cornerstones changed the whole look of the squares you surrounded them with. Belated Happy New Year to you and yours.
I love watching you work on that pink quilt. I have not tried hand quilting because it seems so daunting. I mainly machine quilt. But watching you take it a little at a time and drawing your lines as you go takes some of the anxiety of doing this. It seems so enjoyable and calming. Thank you.

Hello, Kate, I came across your videos in 2024. I’ve grown to love them. I live in Pennsylvania, USA, about a two hour drive away from New York City. First of all, I love to listen to your voice and UK accent. I love hearing the little differences between our two ways of speaking English. I’d love to tell you how much I enjoy your calm voice, your humor, your lovely Anna, and Ant in your garden. The vast property where your last homely house sits is marvelous. I’ve never thought seriously of joining patreon but in your case I’m considering. Until then, thank you for your content. Oh, and especially the beautiful piano music. It’s so calm and restful, I feel it is needed to offset the political atmosphere we are living with here currently. I’ll keep watching, my friend, I love the virtual lime green sofa. I’d take the lemon macaron and some ice water. Being that I’m just starting with quilting, I got cheap fabric from Temu and have started an EPP hexagon quilt, all by hand. It’s looking very random and very much like an old fashioned rag quilt with how nothing goes or matches with anything else. I’m having a blast! Thank you for introducing me to EPP and hand quilting. The joy and relaxation I’m getting by working on this very odd looking quilt are priceless to me!
