I know how much you guys love Dr. Gregory House, so I decided to dig through the comments sections and find out which episode you wanted me to watch. The episode "three stories" kept popping up with a lot of upvotes. I didn't get any background behind the story of the episode and I just sat down and watched it.
Now I didn't know it was going to be such a complicated episode to review as it bounced back and forth between three situations. So to simplify we decided to completely remove one of the three patient simulations as we felt it didn't add much to the story and just made it. more complicated for you to follow.
I wish I knew this was the episode that went on to explain what is wrong with House's leg because then maybe I would've saved it for a later review. But I guess its good for me to know for further episodes anyway.
I will say this about Dr. House. I think he is a kind guy that comes off brash almost on purpose to be a better doctor. You can totally sense throughout the episodes that I've watched that he is still angry for his decision made in this episode.

Aren't Dr. Foreman, Dr. Chase, and Dr. Cameron all full-fledged doctors already? I've finished the show and it never once mentions them completing/being in their residencies.In fact, Dr. Chase carries out his own surgeries, Dr. Foreman ends up getting his own team and then becoming Dean of Medicine at Plainsboro, and Dr. Cameron works the E.R. for a while until leaving the hospital. Therefore, they have to already have completed their residencies before their job with House. Hah. I found an inaccuracy in Dr. Mikes video about inaccuracies in House.

Because of the extremely rare condition/issue House had to his leg, I always liked to imagine that's why he always thinks Zebras, not Horses first. It took days for the other Doctors to figure out what happened to him so he takes the Zebras first mentality so others don't experience what he did.

House is a medical spin on Sherlock Holmes. House... Holmes... His best friend Watson... Wilson... ^_^ His personality, the rudeness, heightened intelligence, great recall/memory, etc. all based on Sherlock Holmes.

Hey Doc! I'd like to note how the "three stories" are carefully picked by House to display what could've been. All three of them had leg pain. One had the corrective surgery, other had the amputation and House was the middle ground removing part of the dead muscle. It's implied House regrets not going one extreme or the other rather than taking the middle ground option, even if it meant losing the leg - the volleyball player resumed activities after having her bone cancer removed (keeping her leg intact) and the farmer did as well, happily walking through his fields fully adjusted to his prosthetic leg. Both extremes lead painless, fulfilling lives, while House not only didn't have his issue resolved but also has to live with chronic pain. You can see him pondering about either case when he's having his NDE
I think House regrets not getting to pick either extreme. He was forced into the middle ground by another's choice.
In one episode in the later seasons he straight up says he wishes he had the amputation.
I think it goes a long way in explaining why he's so unafraid to go to extremes in his practice, and why he gets so mad when people won't take a side and make a choice.
I mean he could still get an amputation, in some cases where the pain is so severe that it impacts the person so much that they can't live a fulfilling life they'll do it. My only question is why Dr. House didn't do that.

One of the things often missed about House MD is they are kind of the last choice. When the patients come in they have normally already been checked and treated by the hospital before reaching them which somewhat explains why they rule out a lot of the normal things
Yeah, they mention it multilple times throughout series but you have to watch carefully all episodes to know that.
this phenomenon is called conditional probability.

@@k1llwizzy , it’s called remembering the events of the episodes that’s being shown. For example a real doctor that’s been doctoring longer than Doctor Mike, and had his UA-cam channel longer on here on UA-cam called Romanian Tvee remembers every anime series ever made, and he’s able to do those reviews of those series perfectly, so clearly if Doctor Mike isn’t able to remember the events of the episodes people suggest than he clearly isn’t as good as of a doctor as Romanian Tvee is.

the most interesting part of this episode is knowing that because of Stacey's decision to do the "middle ground" surgery while House was under, we will never know if he was right, and he would have regained full use of his leg. that's one of the many things that make House such a miserable a**hole. not only is he in pain, but in the back of his mind he knows, this could have all been preventable. sure, he could have been wrong, but if he had woken up and found that his theory was wrong, could he not have opted to have the leg amputated after all? basically, Stacey messed up big time. and then she left him. life sucks sometimes.

House though remained bitter about Stacy's overruling his medical judgment, frequently confronting her on it. This put too much strain on the relationship and Stacy eventually left." She left house, because his resentment affected her after the surgery. I dont blame her, and i can see where he's coming from but eventually he shouldve left it go as there wasnt anything else he could do.

Was Stacy house’s wife?
It's funny, after I watched this episode, I realized House's entire approach to diagnosis and leaning toward trying to know everything is a way to prevent his patients from suffering the way he suffered. Functioning PTSD. Dr. Mike said it himself, Dr. House's condition is so unique and rare that the doctors weren't looking for it and it lead to further suffering. I believe Dr. House jumps to radical diagnoses until he either proves himself wrong, he is proven wrong, or his extreme judgement (most commonly) saves the day.
TL;DR - Dr. House jumps to extreme diagnoses because he himself suffered from a disease that was extreme, something the other doctors wouldn't have thought of.
I've never looked at it that way...but it makes a lot of sense.
House's cases also tend to be ones where the most likely diagnoses have already been ruled out by other doctors (he himself has repeatedly not shown any interest in cases that aren't weird or unusual in some way).
To use Dr. Mike's analogy of "When you hear hoofbeats, think horses not zebras," House's patients are almost always cases where horses have been ruled out and it's time to start looking for zebras.
@@Groundlord but he is still jumping massive chasms to the conclusions he is making and to be honest, if he was in an actual hospital, he'd lose his medical license for malpractice and endangering his patients by essentially making shots in the dark.
@@joshuarubenstein2298 I mean thats true, though its part of the show. However, I realized that my read of House when I watched this show is the opposite of most of the comments: my impression was always that House was already a rare-and-weird-conditions specializing diagnostician and thats why he was so angry that his own strange and weird condition wasn't caught: it's not just that people around him failed, *he failed* to figure it out when the stakes were his own well-being. Whether because he was distracted by the pain or because he was deferring (a bit) to his doctors because he was the patient and not in charge, his gift failed him when it applied to himself, and not others, so he both blames the others (and especially Stella who chose the worst-case compromise) but also himself for not being able to figure it out for 4 days.
Long term chronic pain makes you hate everyone and everything. It is the most realistic aspect of House MD.
Sometimes I do not realize my pain level is elevated until I notice I am reacting inappropriately to people.
As someone who struggles with fibromyalgia I fully understand this and I’ve never sat and thought about this but it’s true.

True. Although as I recall, it was established that House was pretty rude and unpleasant even before he was in pain. I believe it was a side-effect of his intelligence and perceptiveness; he saw through the charades and platitudes of the people around him, and it annoyed him when people tried to pretend to be civilized to each other, rather than just say what they mean. Although he became even more misanthropic after the leg injury.
Though admittedly it's a long time since I watched House, I may be remembering it wrong.

Well, he also said it's important if your patient was bit by one. That tells me he researched that snake to learn more as a result of treating the patient, not that he already knew it.

You should probably go around to some hospitals and teach them the difference. I went to the ER with what was later found to be Cauda Equina Syndrome. The doctor laughed at me and said she wasn't giving me pain medications. I can't even describe the pain I was in. Heart racing, blood pressure elevated...I even said don't give me pain meds but please find out what is wrong with me. She gave me a toradol shot and sent me home. My legs were getting weaker and weaker and I fell in the parking lot. Luckily landed on my car.

In my experience, ER doctors are cynical and do very little to actually help with real pain. The DEA, FDA, and HHS have doctors extremely scared of prescribing medicines that actually help with pain.
I have CRPS, and live with chronic pain even though I “don’t look like it” or “don’t look sick.” It’s hard, but I have to constantly remind myself that people that can’t feel our pain don’t know how to understand. They just can’t fathom it. And sadly, that can sometimes be the medical professional we’ve come to for help. You may have to move on to someone with more empathy if not knowledge. 😔
I’m sorry for what you went through. Hopefully you were able to find a better medical professional who could help.
As a person who lost control of several parts of the body due to an accident during an operation, I can say that I totally understand House. Sometimes I miss having control over the whole of my body

funny side fact. a doctor from my hometown marburg in hesse (which is also the 'name patron' of a rare virus) could actually solve a case with inspiration from house md. he got a patient with cobalt poisoning from an artificial hip. (s7e11 the case with cuddys mother). zebras might be rare, but they appear

Also, when Dr Mike said "I'm not sure that's how it works" when referring to the dog being put down, that is how it works. If the dog has a known history of biting people, even if it's just once, the dog will be put down if it happens again. Even if the dog bites the owner.
I had a pitbull who loved to swim and play with kids. So one dunny dummer day at the lake, two girls were there, too. The younger one immediately started playing with my dog, throwing branches in the water, standing belly deep in the water herself. The elder sister went in the water as well but my dog would just swim in circles around her and then swim back to the younger one since she interacted with her. I could see the older one getting frustrated because no one pas paying attention to her. At one point my dog swam around the older girl who suddenly started to scream and ran out of the water. My dog at scratched her leg while swimming a circle around her, I could see two two inch superficial scratches on her thigh that didn't even break the skin, but she insisted my dog had bitten her, and it blew completely out of proportion.
Luckily, a superficial scratch would have been very easy to prove over a bite.
Not that I think it had to be resolved in court.

Hey Dr. Mike! I really have to thank you for explaining the hyperagesia due to chronic pain medication use! My mother was using 3 different meds (Tylenol #3 with codeine, tramadol, another I forgot,) for her pain for about ~4 years. She said the pain was getting unbearable and she was taking more doses everyday with little to no improvement. I saw this vid, looked up a few research papers and suggested to her that she cut back on her pain meds and see if she feels better. After a few weeks without her usual doses, she said she felt great! It’s been 6 months without her taking chronic pain medication and she’s almost pain free and more active than before! Thank you so much Dr. Mike, it’s crazy how one medical tidbit may have saved my mom from pain!

The fact that House has his residents do illegal, unorthodox stuff is kinda the whole point of the series
There's an episode, I can't remember which one, where a patient asks one of the doctors why he's doing all this stuff instead of having a nurse do it. "Our boss doesn't trust nurses." It's a throwaway line, a handwave at all the extra work House's team does, but it also ties back into the original inspiration for House; namely, Sherlock Holmes. Holmes didn't trust the police or anyone else to get his information for him, to do the legwork. He has Watson and the Baker Street Irregulars (his homeless network in "Sherlock") do all the work instead, because they're the only ones he trusts to gather all the pertinent data. It's the same way with House. He only has a handful of people he trusts (mostly) to provide him with the information he needs.
Fantasy provided audience is idea of doctors who solve problems, not manage them. And many doctors share this fantasy!

In one of the episodes, part of the drama, we find that Foreman was chosen because of his criminal past not just for his medical scores.
House knows how fast snakes regenerate venom cause some scenes in the show he is watching national geographic. It could be the reason why he knows it.

I love shows that have clues in them
If you look at his desk or his home he usually has a nat geo mag or two lying around somewhere. He might be a nature nerd who likes all this stuff. There also exists the possibility that he has had to research this kind of stuff for a previous patient. Possibly a snake bite victim where multiple breeds of snake where found at the scene and he needed to find a way to tell which one was the culprit. I cant imagine that people who keep venomous snakes as pets or work in pet shops are a rare occurrence in the hospital. Milking them is a dangerous procedure that can go wrong with the slip of a hand
Matthew Mcnamara Actually this was explained by house himself when the students asked him ig they are supposed to know how fast a snake regenerates venom and he says you are supposed to know it if you have a patient with a snakebite, implying that all the nat geo stuff you guys are talking about is not him being a nerd.. he was just reading those for his patient after he got the case. House is that kind of doctor.. he read the fashion mags when his patient was a model and watched porn when his patient was a pornstar.
He's essentially an information junkie. He takes difficult cases because he doesn't know what's wrong with these people, and he wants to know. He HAS to know.
Anybody get the premise that House is essentially a gigantic prick whose only real use as a doctor is as an information resource? What is entertaining about the show is just how inappropriate he can get and still have a job as a doctor. His personality is a classic narcissist, he uses put downs to subjugate his subordinates, he has little to no empathy for his patients, and he is a jackass about Hospital policy. He flouts regulations, cuts his own scrip,belittles his residents,and mocks his Boss. He is a JERK. And we love him for it!!!!
According to House himself, he is in pain every day. That, I believe, is what makes him so testy and nasty at times.
He could be suffering, maybe, also, from "chronic frustration" from having made the wrong decision to keep his leg, which put him in the condition he is today .

Not Cuddy. She was not his doctor at first. Plus, she knew him for years and would not have assumed he was drug seeking. This was before he became an addict.
@@stevenpurtee5062 I can see your point when you say she might not have taken over the case yet, but he had, by his own account, just recently sought out drugs and left the hospital; any doctor, Cuddy included, had reason to suspect deception.
It is BECAUSE she had known him for a while, and because of her high-ranking position at the hospital that I think she would've been less afraid than anyone else to pull something like that.

House presents 3 cases to his students, one of the cases is revealed to be himself and how he got his limp and chronic pain. It is not revealed it's his own story until the second half of the episode and everyone is surprised.

He pretended it was a different person. Then it is revealed that it was him, and suddenly we see House in the bed instead of the other guy. That marks the reveal.Basically the episode visualizes the story that House is telling, and since House doesn't reveal that he was the patient, we see some random guy as the patient until we figure out it's actually House himself.

Didja notice the lecture hall gradually got more crowded over the course of the episode? As though it was because of what a compelling talk House was putting on. Really nice subtle detail.

Rewatching the show and I noticed that too. It went from a few students to a full room. Very compelling
Human bites being more dangerous is so true. When I went to an ER and said that I was bitten, I didn't specify what bit me, so they rushed me to the doctor, that specializes in human bites(?), and when I got there and said that a stray kitten bit me, she sighed out of relief, and said that I should go and get rabies vaccine next door. Her eyes tho, I remembered them, they were scared.
And the guys doing rabies vaccine were just chilling, playing PUBG on their phones. They were like, okay, here's the vaccine, we let it warm up and continued to play PUBG. Thats was funny.
Which is weird, because cat bites are really dangerous, even more so than human bites because they puncture much deeper in. Maybe it's because it was a kitten?

@@SentaiYamanekono no human bites are way worse, the damage is more crush/choppy which causes more muscle and nerve damage as well as the bacteria as said in this video
@@SentaiYamaneko Not even remotely true, human bites are worse in absolutely every way. Sure, the cat's teeth could go deeper but that's just because human bites aren't as clean as cat bites. With a cat bite, you just give a rabies shot and sew up the wound and that's about it, it will be a clean cut and nothing else. A human bite will crush everything in its path, muscles, veins, nerves, arteries and yes even bones. Humans' jaws are powerful enough that we could crush our own teeth if we wanted to. And that's before we get into the crazy amounts of bacteria in a human mouth.
@@thekingofgames1437 The dangerous things with bite injuries are depth and location. Cat bites puncture far deeper than human bites and are usually on the hands or feet, the most high-risk areas for bites. Crushing is comparatively minor.
This might be my favorite episode in the entire series. No matter how medically accurate it is, it has amazing storytelling.

It's possible that he did the research about snakebites after that was determined to be the problem...there are scenes in the series that have him looking things up online or checking medical books during cases
What about "Principal of Respect Autonomy"? If a patient doesn't give you consent to amputate the leg, that's their choice. What if you go against the patient's wish and they sue the hospital.

I just know German law, where it is very rare that a dog is put down, because there are other preventive mesures taken long before that would happen (leashing and muzzling) and doctors don't have to call animal control over it. Here you need a court order and confirmation from an expert to legally put a dangerous dog down against the owners will.
So if someone kept annoying or abusing an otherwise docile dog to get it to bite them twice they'd have it put it down?

In practice, 1) it's very rare for small dogs to be at risk of this (because "awww so cute," which is dumb), and 2) If everyone there was like, 'yo, this person literally spent ten minutes tormenting this poor dog and it snapped' then it's very unlikely that anything will happen to the dog.
So to answer your question, officially they do count, but unofficially, in my experience unprovoked bites are taken much more seriously than provoked bites when it comes to this - partly because provoked bites are much less likely to be reported in the first place (the police would be asking all sorts of uncomfortable questions like 'well what were you doing when the dog bit you?' and 'did the dog give you any warning, like growling, that you were upsetting it?' otherwise).

A dog tried to bite my leg when i was a kid. so, everytime i see a dog in a road, i would try to avoid them.
I'm no dog person, not even much of a pet person, but yeah, it's kinda sad how true this is.
Doctor Mike is absolutely right. My wife was on medication for pain and after having the pain for years, removing the pain meds removed the pain. Today she is not on any pain medication and has no pain.

It’s not just that. The snake shown was nowhere near the size of one that could hold so much venom anyway. 200mg is an insane amount.
Alternatively, he could have just had a snake venom patient in the past and made a point to look it up. Some people, doctors or no, like looking up obscure facts, especially if they are related to the things they are doing right now. So House knowing that information in this particular case doesn't hurt my suspension of disbelief.

I’m rewatching House AFTER I went through nearly 7yrs of an undiagnosed illness. It changes your thought process to a degree. Personally, I just had a rare presentation of a fairly common autoimmune disorder: a horse but with zebra stripes. 🤷🏻♀️ psoriatic arthritis mutilans: psoriatic arthritis is common, the mutilans variation is rare, but I didn’t have the psoriasis (skin involvement) until 6yrs after the arthritis set in, which is rare for any psoriatic arthritis. Until the skin involvement showed up and my ACE levels were checked and found to be 3x normal, they really had no chance at figuring it out.
I was a nurse for 13yrs and I liked this show because of the puzzle and connecting conditions, symptoms and outcomes. Now, I can see it from the patient side also and not knowing what’s happening you is something I can better relate too. It also made me more sensitive to House’s smart-assery. After dealing with a couple doctors who were convinced I was “malingering” and treated me like House treats basically every patient, it’s more difficult to like him.
As a nursing student, I can’t help but laugh at 6:14 because any nurse would know we’re not going to inflate the balloon before inserting the urinary catheter 🤣

Strongly encourage people to watch the full episode; House has so many great lines of dialogue about problem-solving and logical thinking that go way beyond medicine. He emphasizes that, when there's only one right answer or course of action, you can't afford to be overwhelmed and instead have to turn all your attention to finding it.

QueenSalis Also, in his everyday job, cases are usually brought to him because the horse possibilities don't easily fit, and they're at a point where the zebras are more likely.

The term "horses not zebras" comes from the fact that out of maybe a million cases showing those symptoms If a person comes in to the doctors office with a runny nose and a cough the first thing the doctor is going to think is cold or flu (the horse) and test you for that first because 99% that is what it will be. It would only be after exhausting the common causes for those symptoms that you would start looking to the very rare causes (or zebras). If you started looking for zebras right from the start then those millions of people that just had a horse you would be putting them through a lot of very time consuming, expensive, and some times maybe even dangerous test just to find out it was the simple answer.
I love how almost every correction he makes is about how incorrectly they're practicing medicine. That's kind of the point. House does things that are against protocol and often illegal, the only reason they keep him on is because for him, it works, and he saves lives. Leading the medical staff to turn a blind eye because they're afraid to stop him. I don't think this would happen in a real hospital but it still is the point of the show.
This is not a critique of his critique lol it's just my thought process. I'm not a doctor, I'm an author. My opinion is purely based on my understanding of story structure and basic psychology.

You left out the beginning of the episode where House's boss told him to fill in for the teacher who was sick and had been sick five times this semester. Then at the end, House drinks from the coffee cup he finds in the desk drawer and deduced that the teacher had been getting sick from lead poisoning from the paint on the coffee cup. House saved another life from one sip of coffee while telling his own story.

Let us not forget that House has been created based on Sherlock Holmes, whose obsession is to find and save (in notes, to be easily found again) all information that could be relevant to his craft. It's possible that House would have considered how long common snakes in his area take to replenish their venom supply because it might be relevant. Perhaps they get a significant amount of them. Perhaps he found himself in the vicinity of a similar case in his career in the past and made note of the importance of the detail because a similar mistake was made?

The character of Sherlock Holmes was based (partly) on doctors that were around when Sir Arthur wrote the stories (Joseph Bell and Sir Henry Littlejohn). While House shares similarities with Holmes, I would argue it's because they are inspired from the same source; and that House is actually more closely related to the originals by being a doctor himself. Admittedly, those doctors would be relative unknowns if not for the detective stories of Sherlock.

For the last 25 years it has been a medical field full of "snow flakes" AS MUCH as I hate that term it has become glaring true to me as I have seen it first hand how doctors and others in the field are less likely to find an answer because they won't do there job now.

The things the residents do on the show, but real residents would never do, you will never find anywhere close to their job descriptions as doctors. Breaking into people's houses, tricking family members into breaching patient privacy, reaching into the mouths of dogs - these are things that are not only nowhere near a doctor's job description, but in some instances, are expressly forbidden.

Ignoring the grammar, I think your expectations as to how easy it is to diagnose and treat illness has been skewed by too much 1-hour television fantasy and not enough 24-hour objective reality. Maybe you have seen a bad doctor, maybe you've seen two, but generally speaking there is nobody at any given hospital that isn't there to do a good job. Hospitals run on performance numbers. Treating your patients with respect, due consideration, and the job of helping them with the utmost professionalism is what keeps the doors open.
There are more "sick people" because there are more people living - and living longer - than ever before and they're not (generally speaking) all that concerned with taking great care of themselves. Trust me, if doctors at my hospital were too special to treat patients then I'd not be up to my butt in MRIs by 10:30 am.
I'm sorry if you've had a bad experience with a specific doctor or hospital, but let's not smear thousands of medical professionals because of it.

Normal MDs dont break in - but they do bc they are with House in this rare condition team.
Normal MDs dont manage everything from start, over laboratory to autopsy but they do bc their team is special. Pretty much all they do is possible and accurate, its just really special and thats why its fun to watch.
Oh actually, House still thinks he should have kept his leg. In another episode, he's gonna try everything he can to save someone whose leg was trapped in a building that fell and will refuse to ampute until the end

I don't remember what episode, but I think in either season 7 or 8 he actually does admit that he wishes it was amputated.

It's quite interesting to know that other countries' medical teams don't know much about snake bites- In India, especially in rural areas, the medical practitioners need to know local names of the snakes, specifics and identification, what anti-venom to administer, how much of a dose is delivered in a bite etc
In the US it really depends on the region - there's not very many venomous snakes in the eastern United States, but doctors in emergency care in western states where Rattlesnakes are common are likely to have all that information.
In the United States overall, there are more deaths per year to spider bites than snake bites, and those snake bites are concentrated in mostly the geographic western and southern part of the country. So a snake venomation is a pretty rare thing for a medical practice set in New Jersey (which is where House is located).

I would just like to take a minute to appreciate a medical professional that takes care of themselves like they do of others. I feel like with the show, a lot of the time (when patient condition is not initially severe) most of the initial protocols are assumed to have been taken and stumped normal primary physicians, which is why they're sent to House for his expertise.
They mention several times in a few episodes that some patients get transferred to House's hospital after their initial visit yields zero results for the illness
This. House mentions it in the pilot episode. «Second of all, if this is a horse [horse vs. zebra], then her kindly family doctor in Trenton makes the obvious diagnosis, and it never gets near this office.»
And his zebras are coming to show after basically all horses have been examined. In fact, most zebras as well and he is already halfway through the tapirs when he finds out it is a rhino.
@@joelcastro-reyes1667 I remember that when House is sitting with a dying patient (who is dying because House rejected his case) he detailed how most of his patients are brought to him. Most of his patients are already at death's door because the other doctors were stumped. A patient getting sent to House is a last resort only. House frequently turns down patients, because he's not interested, the case is too easy, or he's just in a bad mood. He also tells the dying patient he's sitting with that nearly all of the patients House turns down end up dying. So since House is usually the last stop before a patient dies, it's very safe to assume most standard care was already provided before House sees the case. Hence why his residents can usually list off all the other treatments that didn't work when House makes assumptions.
You hit the nail on the head when you said that if you were House you would have been upset by his proxy's decision. He holds it against her for a very long time and even when she comes to work at the hospital it remains a constant issue.
I was like, yeah there's a reason House and Stacy got divorced.
I liked it when she came back to get her new bf/hubby, I forget, diagnosed, and she went against his wishes, and House warned her that he (new guy) would never forgive her, and she said, "*HE* will"

You have to understand . House is kind of a genius in the series. He knows a lot of stuff about every topic. (Pointing to the snake venom thing).
He wants to be the doctor that saves you while completely indifferent of the patient. He views the patient as a vessel for the disease. There was an episode where they argued.... "Do you want a doctor that's indifferent towards you and cures you or a doctor that holds your hand while you die?", something among those lines.
You should do Season 4 Episode 15 "House's Head." It is a bus crash scene and I would love to see how accurate they handled such a large event.

I had something similar with headaches and ibuprofen. Was taking it so long to treat headache pain that it eventually caused an addiction response and started causing the pain. The first doctor I went to just said my chronic headaches were just stress and perscribed more ibuprofen which is exactly what I expected. So I changed doctors and saw the new one 4 days later, explained what the last doctor said, and her response was that I was actually taking too much of the ibuprofen. She put me on a detox med and migraine prevention meds which later included antibiotics for a sinus infection plus allergy relief medication and now instead of daily pain I get maybe 1 or 2 tension headaches a week just cuz my job is crazy stressful sometimes

My first clinical rotation was in the main surgery related hospital in a very large province. I saw more or less 2 aneurisms every day for the month that I was there. So for better or worse, aortic aneurisms are always in the back of my mind.
My grandmother was run off by a truck when she was 35, that damage severe important nerves on his left arm that make her lost his arm movement completely. At the time, there was no way of reconstructing the arm, and she didnt want it amputated. So she is living with his dead arm, that gives her alot of pain for over 40 years. So i deaply understand this kind of decisions when it comes to organs or body parts. But i believe a prostetic will always be a better choice. She does everything with one arm, and is almost 100% independent, and i couldn't be more proud.
