Here's the best way to take care of your faux fur, sherpa, fleece and minky apparel.
does this work on faux fur garments that say dry clean only as well? I really don't want to take it to the cleaners.
Not me looking this up after already adding a hefty dose of softener to my giant Sherpa bed set 🥴🥴
lmao thats me
Just did this Friday and looking at this video now 💀
I looked this up as I was about to add it 😢
Ughhhhhh. Same.
This helps so much for the sherpa I got a brand new one but then the next day I was with my little cousin (for the whole weekend) and she would always want me to hold her and that caused my brand new sherpa jacket to mat so thank you for the help
Thank you, I haven’t washed/worn this 500 pound jacket in years in because of fear or ruining the fabric
Thank you for the info and for not making this a 30 minute video. ❤
I had no idea you were supposed to hang fleece to dry, that would explain why they all loose their softness after I wash them. Thank you for the information!
Of course! Also, its super important that you don't use fabric softener. That will ruin your fabrics!
This is a start. But we need close ups and REAL garments, like blankets and robes, to see how you handle them after washing!
It works the same! This is how I care of all of my fuzzy clothes and blankets. Trust the process lol
They explain what to do with each fabric after washing
i'm glad i watched this. i've had a sherpa jacket before (it got all matted💔) and today for Christmas i got two new ones and i want to make sure i take care of them properly this time. turns out i've been doing it all wrong: i always used fabric softener and i put it in the dryer too. thanks for the useful information, now i will do it properly!
So happy we could help! Enjoy!
THANK YOU I CAN CLEAN MY FLUFFY BUG PILLO-
Filled with my tears.
oh
Thank you so much for the video! I recently got an amazingly, indulgently soft Sherpa fitted sheet and after a month of use there was some areas of matting beginning to form. I got super worried because I LOVE this sheet, so I’m very happy to know the steps for how to care for and revive it!
Woahhhhh finally a useful video on UA-cam! But really thanks this video really saved my sherpa jacket
Happy to help!
Thanks homegirl, I can't afford dry cleaning yet and this was very helpful 💕
Thank you! I’ve been seeing many different videos to help me wash and untangle/un-matt my blanket!
But now that’s I have this it will make it a LOT easier!
And luckily we have outside towel/blanket racks!
This would turn my room into a pool XD
I never thought I'd love to see the day... *Happy Tear Rolls Down* A useful and right to the point instructional video 😍🤯
Glad it was helpful!
ME TOO !!!🥹🥲
Lady you are a godsend! I just repaired two of my favourite blanket that is discontinued, thank you!
So happy we could help🥰
I’m here looking to wash a king size blanket. Fuck this. I’m not brushing that thing LOL
Lmao I honestly don’t blame you.
Might be better to have dry cleaners do it. In the long run it’d save you time (time is/= $$$)
thank heavens you are here!
Is there a way to re-soften the fleace lining of my grad hoodie?
Repeat these steps, the more you do, the softer it will get
Should I do this with my ugg faux fur blanket? I'm terrified to wash it but it's no longer looking white lol.
Yes!!! Now I can clean my coat thank you 🙏
This Is Very Useful For Fursuits 🐺🦊🐱
Happy we could help!
So my faux für blankets is a bit matted.. Can it be restored with clod washing and putting it in the dryer at +25c and a a few Tennis balls? Heard the movement of the Tennis balls helps to separate the entangeled fibers
Yeah, the tennis balls or dryer balls in the dryer can help. You may want to brush or comb it after drying it as well.
Thanks for saving time other videos literally waste time in useless blabbering
Thank you so much! I have some decorative pillows, and I decided to make the covers removable, by adding a zipper to the cover and put the filling in a new cover. Based on this video, I think the material of the pillows would be minky? If so, am I to wash the covers inside out or just normal? Thank you!
Question can you do demonstration on how to get pen ink out of a sharper blanket please my toddler made a few marks and I don't know how
does faux fur go in the dryer or nah? or hang dry?
No, let it hang to dry.
My whole comforter is faux fur....
Thanks for keep it it straight to the point. Love u
Thank you for the great tips. I want to buy a boars hair brush for my sherpa, would you recommend a hard or soft bristle one?
thanks for the tutorial!
My minky blanket is shedding, is there a way to stop it?
Use conditioner and brush out all the matted fur. Good luck!
@@onlinefabricstore thank you!
Where can I get some high density fabric? I need some really thick fur like in the b3 bomber jacket or the Irvin flight jacket. The ones you have seem really thin.
What kind of brush is being used for the Sherpa
I used a boar bristle brush.
How to fix matted faux mink? Is if best to use just spray bottle of waterand bristle brush ?
and add a little bit of conditioner to the water!
I have a white Sherpa jacket that I got a while ago, after using it over time it's become more of a cream color rather than the pure white it once was. Any tips on how to make it white again?
I am going to attach a link to two different products. They are both used to make white fabrics more brilliant. Whitener & Brightener can be found here - www.onlinefabricstore.net/rit-fabric-whitener-and-brightener-liquid-.htm and White Wash - Powder can be found here www.onlinefabricstore.net/rit-white-wash-powder-.htm. I am not sure which one would work the best, it depends on what material your jacket is made out of. I might even recommend using both. Good luck!
@@onlinefabricstore i have a denim sherpa trucker jacket any advise how I can make it loose it’s medium Iv grown into large it’s quite an old jacket I can just about do the buttons
This was very interesting and informative! Great way of presentation!
However, I had a question about sherpa cloth and cleaning the sherpa cloth!
I have this white sherpa fuzzy bubba slippers and they have a lot of dirt and blackish thread around it! I want these fuzzy bubba sherpa socks looking like FRESH WHITE SHERPA all over again and brand new! However, I don't know how to clean them properly! I laundried the way you mentioned in your video, however, they are still dirty! Can you please tell me how can I clean WHITE SHERPA CLOTH and get all of those black spots and dirt out? That would be so so helpful! Thank-you sooooo much 💞💞💝💓🙏🙏😊😊🤗
I would hand wash them with some detergent in a bath, and then take your brush and scrub them for a few minutes. Make sure that when you are done, you brush any matted parts out. I hope this helps. Good luck!!
@@onlinefabricstore
Dear Person,
Thank-you so much for your response and for your description about the washing! It was so helpful and I feel this will help!
I do have some follow-up questions about what you mentioned so I don't mess anything up.
Questions:
1) What kind of water should I wash the sherpa slippers in? Hot water or cold water?
2) Is there any particular type of detergent I should use for the washing? For example, should I use dishwater soap detergent or laundry detergent?
3) Am I allowed to use Oxiclean in helping making some of those dirty parts go away? I was thinking of soaking them for a bit and then scrubbing them and letting them air dry.
Thank-you so much for your assistance and I am excited to hear your advice and answers 💞💞💝😊😊🤗😄!
Have a great day in the meantime!💞💞😊🤗!

where do I hang my huge sherpa blanket when its filled with water from washing?? I dont have a clue where this would be hung up and supported safely.
Get creative! If you have a metal bed frame you could use that. Or a towel rack in your bathroom. You could also use something like a couch, and just put some towels underneath it and then turn over the blanket every hour or so until it is dry. Or try a railing outside!
So the faux fur you air dry after washing?
I have an ugg faux fur comforter. It says dry clean only. Can I use the same method as put it in a large washer and do the conditioner thing on that as well?
Yes!
thank you for the tips! I have this new jacket but I can't indentify what fabric is it.. It has these chunky fur and super fluffy. From this video, I think it is sherpa 😀 Does anyone know if we could dry sherpa in the machine too? thank you in advance ❤️
after watching it again, I think I should not dry it in the machine 🥰 thank you everyone
@@joysauce4109 Make sure you use cold water 🥰
@@dentguygd thank you for the tips ❤️
I hope your jacket stays super fluffy Joysauce❤
@@dentguygd thank you, dentguygd ❤️🥰 I hope all of your stuff stay nice too!
Omg I just washed my daughters new jacket that’s faux fur in the machine with cold water regular tide and fabric softener and it changed the texture a little bit as soft as I got it, how do I fix the problem hand wash it with wool lite?
It couldn't hurt. I would recommend getting the right kind of brush and spending some time really brushing it out when it is wet. Good luck!
I use a pet brush !
Smart!
Super clear. Thanks.
Why aren’t you suppose to use fabric softener on any of these??
It damages the fibers, unfortunately
Time to brush up my fur hat!
How do you fry faux fur?
Ummm you could demo on your jacket. It needs doing
You're so rude
Hey can it be any brush that you use or is it a specific one
I would stick to a boar bristle brush. You don't want anything too stiff or you could damage the fabric. You could probably get away with a faux boar bristle, but you are going to want to use something in that family.
Would I be able to clean a sherpa stuffed animal the same way?
Absolutely!
Is there a way to undo the knots in the blanket?
Use a little bit of conditioner mixed with water, and then try brushing it out as much as possible. I would also probably try to cut off even just a little bit of the knot. Good luck!
OMG it actually worked. Thank you
Should you wash faux fur before you sew it?
I usually recommend washing your fabric before sewing if you plan of washing the finished product. Also, if it is apparel, I would wash the material to get off any dust that may be stuck to if from transporting it from place to place and any finishes that might be on the fabric.
@@onlinefabricstore ok thanks, I’m planning on embroidering and sewing a stuffed animal.
Will this work on fuzzy socks to keep them soft?
It should! It really depends on what the socks are made out of, but this is the care instructions for most fuzzy fabrics so it is going to be your best bet!
is it fineto use an animal brush? the thin metal ones? :)
I probably wouldn't recommend it.. You could try and see how it goes!
I have a parka with no detachable fake fur. Can i wash it in washingmachine? Cold water? Pls help 🤣
How would you dry faux fur?
I'd suggest air drying and then using a boar bristle brush to fluff any matted areas when dry.
What type of brush again
We used a boar bristle brush. You can find it at any beauty or drug store.
Can I put faux fur coat in washer on delicate? Without it looking matted
I really would recommend hand washing. But if you are going to do it make sure to do it on cold, that it is the only thing in the washing machine, and take it out and brush it immediately.
OnlineFabricStore.net thanks so much you are a lifesaver 💋
You can use woolite and scent beads! I use downy on faux fur lol
Why is it so much maintenance!!!! I hate seeing black pill in my Sherpa blanket and pillow.
what do you mean by delicate cycle ?
A lot of machines will have a more delicate cycle (slower spin speed and cold water). It can be called a few different things, so it depends on your machine but it should be cold water with a slow spin speed.
OnlineFabricStore.net thank you for replying !! very helpful
@@samanthavillalon871 Of course!
I’m here because my older sister stole and ruined the blanket that my mom sent me for Christmas and now I have to show her how to properly care for blankets with similar materials. She thinks you’re supposed to just throw it in the washer and dry on HIGH heat 😡😡😡
Oh noooooo....
Thanks now i can finally wash my fluffy cat paw socks which are getting angry at me
**Hope you liked this tutorial, Oh and don’t mind my 50year old homeless dog looking faux fur vest**
How do you retain the fluffiness of sheepskin wool after washing?
I would only recommend washing wool by hand in cold water. Then brush it if you must. But usually you would not want to wash it if you can help it.
Finally l can wash my stuffed animal!
Shout out to all my furrys looking for fursuit care

Try with real blankets and ropes and sweaters. It wasn’t that useful tbh.
