This platinum just drained me. I usually get a sense of accomplishment and finality when I get a platinum, but this one just left me bitter, deflated, irritated, and hopeless.
2 chapters left to complete in hard to get the platinum. Hardest part was Chadley's VR missions. A big thank you to the youtube channels providing strategies :)
Game is so good that even feeling very annoyed sometimes by minigames or hard battles, there's something that brings me back to the game to suffer again but feel good after every little portion of improvment I get. Really satisfying (not all the minigames or hard battle itself, but the outcome).
Bonds of Friendship is the one that nearly broke me. I tried it for 2+ weeks off and on. Got to Odin several times and got within a spell or two only to lose. Took 4 days off for my sanity. First night back it at finally got it on the 5th try that night. Platinum complete and sanity retained.
I personally enjoyed the Plat. It's a game I enjoyed a lot and spending more time with it was even better. Yes, it's a long one, but the activities are so varied that it didn't feel repetitive
I think that's definitely fair. Rebirth does have a ton of variety in its minigames. Even though I didn't necessarily enjoy all of them, there were some that were pretty great. And they all did feel pretty unique from each other, which I can definitely respect. And Rebirth's story was amazing. It was more so the world intel that felt repetitive to me. Most of the world intel aside from the phenomenon intel felt like a lot of the same. Go activate this tower, find this crystal to get more history of the region, go dig up these transmuter chips so on and so forth. But that was the only part of the game that felt repetitive to me. Overall, Rebirth is an amazing game that I also really enjoyed. As of right now, I do think it's my game of the year because I enjoyed it that much. I just personally didn't enjoy the back half of the platinum.
I also loved getting the platinum in this game. The only thing I would change is for the hard VR missions giving check points for after battles you beat. It would save so much time.
I did JUST that in antecipation of Part lll release as i considered rebirth one of the greatest games of all time! Even tho i despise turn based combat i ended up loving every goddamn second of original FF7, so much so that i also got the plat for it 💯🙏 truly original the G.O.A.T
@daesong1378 yeah that's true, but if you think about there aren't many ff games with a good ending. And Rebirth's final 2 chapters took a huge turnaround and made the story too convoluted as if the writers didn't know anymore. It felt just like the ending of Lost.
Yeah… I have around 9 platinums and I think I’m going to cut my losses on this one… I would really like it but… forget that noise. I would like to think I’m close but I am not going to grind another 100 hours of my life to do the remaining odds and ends. I was going to do it but it completely ruined the fun for me…
One of my hates about the game is getting one character to heal and as I go back to my tank the one I have healing has cancelled the move and decides to do something else.
I finished the platinum last week and, yes, this was so much more of a challenge than finishing Remake's platinum. The "To Be a Hero" mission where you have Cloud & Sephiroth was my biggest roadblock mostly because I was relying on Seph as the damage dealer, but the dude doesn't have a traditional block; so I'd take a lot of damage when I got hit. After getting through "To Be a Hero", "Bonds of Friendship" was almost a breeze - took me a couple of hours to get through it and Odin felt almost insignificant by that point because I faced him so many times before in the previous challenge. Alexander was more of a menace in both challenges than Odin for me. After doing all the VR missions, Hard Mode was almost relaxing beyond the Rufus fight in Chapter 12 and Jenova during the final chapter. I will say that after doing everything in Rebirth, I feel like I'm a much better gamer at this version of Final Fantasy than I ever was coming off of getting the plat in Remake.
That's very interesting because I thought the sephiroth one was a breeze because of how good sephiroths dodge is. I mostly used sephiroth in the fights and beat the challenge on my very first attempt with my own build, but I'm struggling on the bonds of friendship one right now 😭

@fasjab holy crap I just did it by the skin of my teeth. Cloud died and Zack was low health but I summoned Odin right before cloud died and when he died it autocasted zantetsuken which was just enough to finish off Odin 😭 shaking and sweating
Remake's wasn't an easy plat but it was a fair difficult plat. Rebirth is the kind that feels like a bullshit difficult plat. the simulator brutal and legendary fights are like doing Darksouls or Elden ring without the quick heal potions available and needing atb to do anything. It wasnt any of the minigames for me. its the brutal and legendary fights in the simulator and i loathe them with every fiber of my being. My play style has never been defensive combat or parry or blocking. i am not good at that in any game ever made. I build to work around that. But this simulator forces it. And there is no way to work around it in the legendary fights. Certain builds work for the first 5 brutal challenges and the yuffie brummal form spam works on rulers of outer worlds which still took me forever to beat even with that because of Gilgamesh and Sephiroths rng garbage. I still have not beat one of the legendary fights. And it has become so annoying that i go days without touching the game now. Because i am not having fun anymore. It is a bullshit mode the way they designed it.
@@NoctLightCloud I did all the stuff in 10 back in ps2 era. The only thing i never finished was blitzball as i hated it and just quit. The only ones i struggled to do in 10 was the 200 lightning bolt dodges in the thunder plains and getting 0.00 time on the chocobo minigame with the balloons. in ff9 the only thing i never did was beat ozma. nothing else in 9 ever gave me issues like the simulator in rebirth.
@@TheTez1990 i don't have a issue with difficulty in general. As i played Elden ring and dark souls trilogy. but there is a difference in real fair difficulty and artificial bs difficulty. And the simulator endgame stuff in rebirth falls more into the artificial bs kind. Its not balanced properly and the enemies are over turned for a battle system that requires atb to use heals or do anything. Its like trying to play Dark souls without healing potions that you can just use when needed. Rulers of outer world is so over turned that you pretty much have to cheese it with yuffie unless you are some kind of gamer nerd parry god that never gets hit. I got plat on elden ring and never complained once about any of the fights in that game. But the balance of the brutal and legendary simulator fights is busted unless you are a parry god game guru. Its like they tried to make it like Dark souls and Elden ring without the balance to the system that those games have for such difficult fights.
I feel like if I hadn't used the Yuffie strat it would have also been my hardest challenge too since I had such little experience with the Gilgamesh fight on top of having to deal with Sephiroth's shadowy chain attack. Kudos to you doing it before the strats were discovered!
This was definitely harder to platinum than Remake. The hardest VR in Remake only took me something like 10 tries. The Bonds of Friendship in Rebirth took me 3 days of attempts. Bahamut and Odin just crushed my soul.
Fortunately, Weiss wasn't needed for the platinum trophy because he was also a pain to defeat. I think I had more trouble clearing that fight than the ones in Rebirth
@@vansta93I've also done both, and at least with Weiss we didn't have to go 10 zero-checkpoint rounds first. That lack of checkpoint format is my main issue, as most of the time is being forced to repeat stuff we've already beaten. Imagine being stuck having to watch a half hour unskippable cutscene between attempts where you need practice. The hardness of the bosses was reasonable, but the zero-checkpoint format was not. After getting the platinum I am not even looking forward to part 3. Post story content ought to make players appreciate a game more not less. The minigames also were much more frustrating than fun. I do agree, its a fun game if you ignore the optional content. But, liking the game is what made me interact with it, and afterward it lost me.
I do not often relate to videos this hard, but MAN. I did everything this game told me to do. Everything except the last 2 VR missions, with Sephiroth and Zach . Loss after loss after loss after loss after loss, guide after guide after guide, getting to the last fricking fight, and I just can’t. 200 hours in and no plat, and it taunted me enough to just delete the game. Good on you for fighting through that yourself, it was brutal
Do you need help? The sephiroth one is easy, you can spam dodge and triangle wherever you are to build up his limit in seconds infinitely. For Zack i recommend watching solestro for the build and tips, you can make an aeroga build where you deal big damage with mp and hp absorb without worrying about your mp or hp
Don’t give up man ! You did so much. I’m 200 hrs in and still on chapter 13 ! I haven’t even thought of hard mode yet ! There are great strats I’ve seen on here. You gotta give it another shot. You’re sooo close ! I totally relate to this vid, but I’m determined to see it through !
There's a small part of my that wishes I didn't do the cheese strat for Outer Worlds, but I think if I had tried to do it without that method that I would have lost my sanity. Mad respect for doing it without using the Yuffie strat and congrats on getting the platinum!
@@GingerGiantGaming thing is is that the cheese has to be executed quickly. You would have to play it out quickly, mainly against Virtual Sephiroth (which was where I struggled the most on). I didn’t really did it legit but I just wanted to get it done anyways .
Currently going for the platnium rn on rebirth, just finished all the normal combat simulations and now am mentally preparing myself for the brutal and legendary challenges

Chadley's sorry ass mouth that never shuts is going to make you sick when you exit the Combat simulator to go rethink your builds/teams after getting trounced 50 gazillion times by the bummy AI in some of those challenges... Godspeed 🫡
@@GingerGiantGaming Lil update cause I forgot I commented this, I did end up platting the game, it took me about 189 hours to do. I finished the game around the 100 hour marker and the last 89 hours were spent doing the combat simulator challenges, hard mode minigames, and finally the hard mode playthrough. Spent 7 hours on the very last sephiroth boss fight cause I was so underprepared and literally had 0 MP xD.
I just got the FF7 Rebirth platinum myself. Just under 200 hours for me as well. But if I can give some advice to people still working on it, save the Bonds of Friendship VR challenge for after you do Hard Mode and the To Be A Hero challenge. First of all, you get to practice the fights with Cloud and Sephiroth, and if you collect all of Cloud's manuscripts, your weapons will get to level 9, and the magic boost you get from that makes Bonds of Friendship SOOO much easier. I completed it the very first time I attempted it with a level 9 weapon because I did SO much more magic damage. Also, before you go into the last two Legendary VR challenges, spend some time practicing against Odin on full might with Cloud using the materia setup you plan on using in the gauntlets. I was able to learn Odin's attack patterns and how to block him in Prime mode to the point that I had him on farm.
When you said it took you 200 hours to plat, my first thought was 'wow, bro, that was quick'. I'm at 300 hours and still haven't got there yet. Yesterday I managed to beat 'To Be a Hero', after what must have been at least 12 hours/30 attempts. I haven't attempted 'Bonds of Friendship' yet, but knowing that it is more difficult than 'To Be a Hero' has me full of dread. I'm leaving it for a bit because I want to go into it with Cloud's weapon at level 9, for which I need to complete Hard mode. I've just started chapter 13, so it will give me a little break before I drive myself insane again.
@@Kean_Bean I've been using Optinoob's guides for most the VR challenges, and they have been really helpful. Never would got as far as I have without them. There are, however, a few challenges where his guides just weren't working for me, and I either had to slightly modify them or come up with something completely different. To Be a Hero was one of those. For that, I looked up numerous guides to get some idea, and then put together my own unique build.
@@Bastion90 cool, the knowledge you gained from that should really help with bonds of friendship. What really worked for me was building Red out as similar to Zack as possible, then I drilled against each enemy individually in the sim and on the World map on hard mode. About 4 or 5 rounds on each enemy left me confident with each strat and that I could clear them with little to no incident. (Alexander did nearly end my To be a Hero run).
@@Kean_Bean Red? Aren't we playing as Cloud? Alexander took me out a couple of times. My jaw dropped the first time it happened as I'd never lost the Alexander in any VR challenge before. I was in a state of shock. He's not the bad really, but the same can be said of each of the opponents. It's the endurance of ten in a row that's the real problem. Having to start all over again for the umpteenth time after half an hour of intense battling is soul destroying. I don't know how useful my build will be for Bonds of Friendship as I used Cloud as very much a support player for To Be a Hero. I don't think I'll get away with that with Zack in the party. Your training method sounds like a good idea though, thanks for the tip.
@@Bastion90 Cloud has main build. I replicate Zack’s build on Red (same spells + first strike). Enfeeblement Ring on 3rd character. You need a character with Zack’s support spells to practice properly. I found I didn’t fully understand Prime mode until I had run a couple of fights. I thought I had to refresh it if Cloud switched stances, kept wasting ATB re-using it. The drilling really worked for me. I knew my opponents so well that I got through both bouts on the first run. Was a touch over prepared. The Hueylacottle and Brineborn Demon can be wiped without them even getting off a proper attack. Alexander surprised me too. Got me with that shockwave/tracking beam combo, wiped Cloud. Killer Cloud twice in that round I think. Must have got him moments before he was due to cast Judgement. Best of Luck! Keep at it!
The third chocobo mini is actually the easiest. The key is that you can actually fly in perpetuity because you can go backwards on the map to recollect all the rings. There’s no timer, so if you have decent control, you can just stay in the air forever due to the boosters the stage provide. At the same time you can set yourself up to get the last two rings as many times as you need.
I really liked getting platinum and I still do. Even after the hard grinding, but it wasn’t that hard tbh. Yes I tried over 8 times for a single combat simulator, but what is the fun in a game when it is not a hard thing to do about it?
I bought game when it was released and it took little less than 2 months to get platinum. For me getting platinum was best part of the game, because minigames and Chadley missions were so annoying, but it just felt so good to finally beat them. Bonds of friendship took 15 runs, but I have never felt so much adrenaline running trough my vein playing any game ever as I felt when I finally beat Odin. It was good feeling and platinum felt like you actually earn it.
I couldn’t bring myself to do it. Got a quarter of the way through the platinum journey and couldn’t go through with it. Massive respect to you for this. It’s fucking brutal.
@@GingerGiantGaming Thankfully they said there will be no DLC for rebirth. I DO however wonder if they'll add one more VR mission like they did with Remake (the Weiss fight) so you can obtain 2 additional Gotterdammerungs.
I feel like there's also more context to Remake. It was also my first platinum and final fantasy game ON TOP of it being during the start of the pandemic. Kind of a perfect match to be a great game with fond memories attached to itl
Johnny's treasure trove chest coulda been more alternate costumes but nope just another piano song that I will never play cuz level 4 and higher songs are just impossible to me.
I think you actually do have to complete all combat objectives because they give you party exp that allows you to unlock the last folio and master it which is one of the trophies.
Achieving the Platinum trophy pushes you further into the combat system, requiring you to think strategically for those insanely challenging fights in the VR simulation. It's intended for hardcore players, but if you're one of them, you'll enjoy the game even more. I earned the Platinum with 200 hours of gameplay, including all handbooks from side quests and other content.
Beating the platinum has ruined my ability to judge difficulty. GOW2018 on hard mode just doesn't hit the same. Taking 20 tries to beat a Valkyrie feels quaint. After laying them low it's like, you're no Odin.
Not sure if nostalgia clouds your brain, But the minigames in Rebirth are mostly better than the ones in the OG. Those were meh at best in the saucer and the 3d brawler in the og was so bad i didn't ever hit anything in it lol. They improved the Gold saucer in almost every way. Chadley himself doesn't bother me. The Simulator however does.

@@GingerGiantGaming The og in its time was the best game made in my opinion at that point of 1997. But now it is way outdated due to many factors. I still love it. But the remake helps newer players with the experience playing it first because it offers the experience in mostly the same way with the modern graphics and honestly better handled certain character plot lines than the original did in how they did some of the scenes. Like Cait sith is a way better character in the remake than in the OG. As is Yuffie. Even though Yuffie was still ok in the OG. she got way more depth in the remakes.

Honestly, I play a lot of character actions games like Devil May Cry, so the combat challenges for me weren't really that bad, i had to learn them, but in the end it's about your build and your skill is secondary. After playing it when it released i left it wthout doing the legendary Bouts. I came back few days ago, and still while being rusty i did manage to do bonds of friendship in about 7 attemtps, mostly dying to ironically 2nd stage and To be hero on 3rd attempt (it's way easier and knowledge/tactics about bosses transfers from bond of friendship). All the characters have something broken about them, you just need to learn what. (Cloud - Prime mode, Tifa - trinity strike, Yffie -brumal form etc) But yeah, my gamplay style for the story was to basically do all sidecontent first and then do main story so i didn't really felt burned out because every time i was feeling exhausted by the minigames i turned to the main story that slaps. I'm yet to start the hard mode run but i got literally everything you can get in the first playthrough and chadley's combat simulator. If it's anything like remake and CCS, then most bosses can be taken down in minutes if not seconds, it's all about the build, especially Magic with genji glove is ridiculous

Well there's only 3 platinum trophies and I rank FF7 Rebirth the 2nd of the hardest Platinum I achieved. wanna know the hardest? it's start with letter S and end with Letter E, it's the 4th installment of that series.
We got minimum 3 years for the next game. I'm going to take my sweet time to go for plat... I noticed ppl who went directly for it got burned out, witch is what I avoided since the get go. The moment I started to feel the burn was around Gongaga going to Cosmo Canyon, I decided to do only main story at that point and got to fully enjoy the rest of the game, and now i enjoy even more just going back & revisite spots to complete things without the pressure. I'm 180H in completing Johnny's quest and after that, ill do HArd mode next year...To me it's like...I got 3 years soo I will milk all within those 3 years I also love/hate that some minigames are hard. Reminds me of actual hard games in the 90s & early 00s. EARN IT BOYS!!!
A humorous journey! I'm not really a trophy hunter, but AM a completionist so did a lot of the stuff already and closing in on it. Surprisingly finished both minigames you had issues with, though had to look up a guide to the last chocobo flying one. The minigames I have left are the shooting gallery, sit-ups, frog jumping and piano. I think piano will be fine, but the first two seem really hard. And frog jumping... I just couldn't care less about! lol. Still have a few VR battles to go through - and Odin was one of the ones giving me trouble in the last group fight - I think because my normal tanking with Barret strat was triggering Zantetsuken. I sidetracked to the hard run in the meantime. Anyhow, it's frustrating at times but having a lot of fun.
Been stuck on Bonds of Friendship for a long time. Took a few months off. Trying again and still can't do it. Odin. Every time and I've practiced Odin on my own a lot. I'm considering just letting it go at this point because I have like, plateaued or something. Mental block that's impossible to overcome. Cursed. All your emotions and gameplay moments are pretty much identical to what I went through. Except I was way more rageful when I got mad lmao probably because I wasn't streaming or recording XD Congrats
dude but its so damn easy, look up a guide thre are some really simple ones that could point out things your not really doing. Prime mode is really good for cloud to be using, and read how to use it cause i was using it but didnt understand the whole keep it push down portion, it can give cloud a big damage boost and if you use zack to cast haste cloud will constantly have atb, also swift cast along with a few other blue materia locked to wind magic will make it so you break odin quick, and when he uses the barrier its just a matter of keeping your guys alive, and when the wall comes down you want to save your controlled charaters limit break for when the wall comes down cause he will lock up your controlled character, if you use the limit break just ask hes using temporal shift i believe the abiliteis called you want to use limit break it will by pass the abilitie completely and you wont get locked up. Odin isnt as hard as eveyrone makes him out to be.
Yea when I finished the game I checked what was required to get the platinum and realised straight away it would just destroy any love I had for the game
I'm am super into getting platinums I have like 153. But there are some games I don't want to ruin by getting the plat so I'm skipping getting it in this
I believe the combat objections were basically just to get the tokens for materia, but i dont think you have to fully complete them all 3 of each guy. I honestly dont know why they had 3 objections but nothing for gettting all 3
You're a much better player than me, the challenge 5 in brutal challenges took me more than 24 hours total. I'm more than 400 hours into my playthrough... I beat the Sephiroth and Cloud challenge and I have to admit yes I think the Zack and Cloud challenge is hardest combat challenge(Killing Cactuars might be harder but that's a minigame).
I'm glad you spoke up about the minigames yeah the third chocobo trial was unfair and the cactaur minigames in hardmode is quite hard,by far the crunch one is still not a fan favourite sadly
I’m up to the last trophy which in the Johnny mission. I told myself I’d stop at the VR missions but need to bring it home. I can confirm this has not been enjoyable and I’m simply giving in to my OCD
I am a completionist at heart so not only the platinum but 100% game log in 280 hours of rebirth it's insane i know but i got my value out of it Great video 👍🏼
I wont lie, this plat hurt me. But, bonds of friendship and to be a hero both felt like victory laps after doing Jules sit ups and Rulers of Outer Worlds. Jules attacks the Dyslexic like no other.
not gonna lie the sit ups mini game was a payne as all hell. but honestly I couldnt stand the 3d battler, the upper punch and middle punch looked almost the same wiht the party animal guy and sephiroth that it drove me nuts. I still beat both of them without the pausing method, but honestly after party animal and then getting to sephiroth and him having 7 attacks befor he berzerks, was like WOW, and but sephiroth just got easy once you learn he only has 4 attacks after the first berzerk. Piano mini game was a payne but i actually really thought it was fun. Bonds of friendship i thought was really easy actually, i beat that one after only a few tries but to be a hero took me longer till i started using reraise with both sephiroth and cloud during the odin fight which that one time i did that i beat it. outerworlds threw me for a loof that all the summons were so easy but sephiroth at hte end had that lock down attack, but once i learned lvl 3 magic knocked him down and to just keep spamming lvl 3 magic till phase 2, it wasnt really that bad. I gotta say my favorite part of the game was the chocobo racing, it was basically chocobo mario cart but simplified.
I got platinum in 160 hrs about a month after it came out. Actually wasn’t too bad. The brutal fights sucked for a little while because I made my own build and it didn’t work for Helion. The rest was really good. I am stoked for next release I need more!
How did you do all the vr battles before hard mode? I'm still stuck on rulers of outer worlds and barret vs colossi, and I'm on ch13 of hard mode. I thought I was a good gamer when I got remake's platinum, but feel so hopeless with some of rebirth's tasks. Incapable of doing ghost ship. :/
Ghost Ship you have to get down the pattern of where all the most important stuff is and how to best hit it without button mashing and losing points due to bad accuracy. it mainly takes practice to get that. Also might help to turn off the trigger resistance on your controller so its not as hard to hit the trigger button when you need to mash it to get the fat chocobo and marlboro targets during ghost ship. For Rulers its a pain no matter what but the Yuffie brummal form spam is the only way to do it unless you are a parry god guru gamer that can block everything and not get hit. Aerith Barret and yuffie all need a specific build for that. and once at Sephiroth you cast haste on all with barret. ATB ward with Aerith. Brummal form with Yuffie until they have full atb. Then cast firaga with aerith and barret and get sephiroth in a loop before he can do shadowy chains. Then once at half hp. Start using Blizagga with Aerith and maximum fury with Barret.
Thanks! I have the yuffie build written down, but it just seems unfair to be the only way for most gamers. I just beat Red Dragon, such a pain. Resorted to the classic revival earrings to make it past his lava move.
I followed some very helpful guides. I wanted my materia to be maxed out before doing hard mode so that's why I did the Chadley missions first. Some of the guides were really helpful in getting me though the missions early. And I actually completely forgot about the ghost ship. Yeah that one was brutal. The most intense forearm excuse you can get from a video game lol
@@88killerificwhen I did red dragon, I didn’t even think of the revival earrings. Lol I just made sure to kill during that first stagger. I think it was mainly, use Yuffie to break wings for stagger, ATB ward on cloud, then double blizzaga to finish.
I think because I spread out the plat over 3 months, it's been a lot more bearable. I don't understand how so many people struggle on the piano challenges specifically, I found them all pretty easy
This game is incredible, I love it to death and it’s one of my favourite games ever. This platinum pains me, I’m close to getting it, but those damn brutal & legendary bouts are truly cruel 😅 I completely understand making a platinum hard to get so not everyone can do it, but I’ve genuinely had to step away from Rebirth and I’m mixed feelings on returning to it soon, cuz when I was playing it everyday, completing side quests & certain specific challenges, I felt accomplished but also, once I unlocked those brutal/legendary ones I realized how fuqed I was 😅 I do think I’ll eventually get the Plat, like with Remake I only ended up getting that one at the beginning of the year despite having Remake since the end of 2020, so using that timeline (heh) of events I’m already further in completion than compared to Remake so 🤷♂️ Anyways great video and I feel like I’m the only person who didn’t wanna yeet myself off a cliff with Rufus in hard mode 😂 normal mode, definitely, I didn’t know he was gonna be like that, but to be fair, none of us did, but since I already knew how he moved I found him readable, and I love to spam blade beams at enemies in this game which helped in that fight. Also, I found out from a guide that you can zip to him when he uses certain attacks which pressure him immediately using triple slash!
Wait…so did you do the Chadley brutal VR missions before doing hard mode? If so, that’s even more savage! Through your hard mode run you get a ton of manuscripts that finish leveling up your weapons, which I always felt would be necessary for the VR missions.
I finished them before going to hard mode too, the manuscripts just slightly did a bit of upgrades, you would also need to finish the side quests on hard to get the rest of the scripts, and some in chadley’s vr.
Loved the game. Loved the platinum grind. Would not recommend to anybody else to go for it if they aren’t committed to “the gaming lifestyle”. IMO, Platinums should be hard to get, but every mechanic in the game should work as intended (I’m looking at you, Flight de Chocobo👀)
I totally agree with you. I do think platinums should be hard to get. That's the fun of them (at least in my opinion anyway). I'm actually prepping myself to go for Crypt of the Necrodancer in the future
I dont know i thought just bahamut in the Final shinra building vr mission of remake was harder then any of the battles in rebirth. Bahamut in that final challenge didnt play fair, bahamut arisen in rebirth was 100x easier, and if you knew how to fight odin he wasnt much of a bother.
I only used it for a handful of fights since it didn't work for everything. I mainly used it on the red dragon fight, outer worlds & some select bosses in hard mode. Other than that, not really.
I'm close enough to the plat that your video has convinced me to relax on it. I can't beat Gi Nattack and the brutal and legendary Chadley missions are unholy. Although I loved both the hard mode cactuar battles and glide de chocobo 🤣
Last two chapters left to do in hard mode... still trying to finish Chadley's and the Collisseum missions with over 260 hours... I'm really thinking if I DO need that platinum trophy 😂😂
The road to platinum is slowly starting to drive me into madness... and I think I'm enjoying it? Just beat Rulers of the Outer Worlds with no cheesing and I feel like I'm actually mastering a game! The original has my heart forever but it's just too easy when you understand the builds. Good luck!
I think I'm one of the few that walked away liking it more, but I also kept hearing about how hard it was, so I just used Optinoob's guides for the brutal/legendaries and then it was a cake walk. I'm actually struggling much more on the last few chapters of hard mode tbh. But crunches actually took me the most time to do, it was like 3 hours for me lol
This game taking people 200 hours to plat is insane to me. I’m at 120 right now and I only have 3 challenges left til the plat. This is with me getting stuck on several parts for a decently long time. I died on Clouds solo challenge for like 2 hours straight for some reason lmao. If you’re actually good at games (unlike me) you should be able to plat FF7 rebirth in 120 hours or less (not that 120 isn’t a lot). I feel like people say 200 hours and it scares others away. It’s alot, but it’s not that much.
I think it depends how you play the game. I've seen people clear the game in 140 hours or 150. It just personally took me 200 since I took my time with things.
I platinumed in 188 hours. Hard mode was a breeze. Cactuar crush with Aerith, Glide de chocobo 3 and the final VR battle were the only things i got stuck on. The platinum wasnt that bad.
I would of agreed with you on Dyne hard fight, if not for me coming to realisation that i was doing the fight wrong, after about 20 or more fails i changed up my strategy and with new strategy beat it in 2nd attempt, what shocked me more was watching few live streams afterwards where people beat it in only few tries just because their playstyle. I agree that the chocobo gliding minigame was really rough, i played it pre patch and it had major camera issues back then, but afterwards i saw few people beat it in like under 5 attempts which just made me realise i was just bad at it. Cactor crush was looking impossible until i found out that certain materia can actually give you an advantage which made it go from near impossible to somewhat hard.
A lot of the "difficulties" you had with Chadley's missions can be fixed by equipping the HP MP swap materia and just spam limit breaks and reraise because you have 6000 mp. Odin is very easy when Cloud and Zack both have reraise always on them.
@@pongknuckle8933 Enhanced Expeditionary Medal. I never got to the point where I could CONSTANTLY spam reraise after I died, but it's still very useful. Loadout: Fire/Ice and Wind/Lightning attached to two elemental materia depending on what I'm fighting, HP MP Swap, Precision defense, Revive and Reraise, any other magic or stat boosting materia (eg first strike, steadfast block, comet, etc.) I would also HIGHLY recommend Enemy Skill to use Sonic Boom because it's a free Bravery and Faith buff, and that materia can give you other useful skills. It's a lot of blocking and dying, but as long as you perfect block an attack 3 times, you get your limit break. Also, throughout the Limit Break duration all attacks are considered perfectly blocked, so Clouds long startup on lv 3 Limit is actually a good thing, as it gives you more time to get hit before you interrupt their attacks. It also gives HUGE stagger, so if you're fighting more than 2 enemies you can chain limits off of stagger alone (eg, chapter 13 or the first phase of the 2 man colosseum battles). Reraise gives you a buffer for if you make a mistake, but note that there's a little bit of time AFTER you have been resurrected but BEFORE you gain control where you can take damage. OF course, this becomes less of an issue when there are two other party members who have been tanking hits and getting aggro. Those two boss rounds on Rulers of the Outer Worlds are trivially easy because of this. I never could get past Gilgamesh, but that's cuz I never got enough practice and can only fight him ONCE outside of RotOW. This build also makes the Solo Legendary battles easy, because you tend to one or two shot most things.
Duly noted. I didn't end up using reraise that much since it required so much MP, but with your build that wouldn't really matter. I also never really messed around with the HP-MP Swap materia and I feel like I should have. Reading your explanation makes me want to mess around with it and see how bust it is. So if I ever pick up Rebirth again, that's the first thing I'll do
its all about getting down the right way to use windstorm with yuffie, and the soul drain, sorcerers storm ect with Aerith. The guide by optinoob on youtube helped me know how to beat Cactuar crush. once you get it down its not as hard as when you try to wing it on your own.
I didn't do all those crunches and piano sheets to get plat blocked by a Chadley fight! I'm obligated to complete the platinum but if there's something like Johnny requiring 100% everything in the next one I may just skip it
sadly i used some guilds for the burtal and legeandery fights i am down to one to be a hero i am good at games but i know when some things are just way to high for skill for me i just beat bonds of friendship causes i heard it was the harder one of the last two i like to get the hardest done frist
How I beat most ff games and hard bosses is that I max out everything early and blow through everything. In ff 8 I ate many t rexaurs just to max out strength early and get some rare items for the lion heart in the first cd. Not sure if you can do similar in rebirth. But I am curious if my strat would still work there.

It was a struggle but not impossible with only having 2 VR missions left. After hours I said I'm good here. But everything I mean everything else was done.
Pretty much everyone that gets the platinum says the game is great but the platinum sucks.

Game is so good that even feeling very annoyed sometimes by minigames or hard battles, there's something that brings me back to the game to suffer again but feel good after every little portion of improvment I get. Really satisfying (not all the minigames or hard battle itself, but the outcome).

Bonds of Friendship is the one that nearly broke me. I tried it for 2+ weeks off and on. Got to Odin several times and got within a spell or two only to lose. Took 4 days off for my sanity. First night back it at finally got it on the 5th try that night. Platinum complete and sanity retained.

I think that's definitely fair. Rebirth does have a ton of variety in its minigames. Even though I didn't necessarily enjoy all of them, there were some that were pretty great. And they all did feel pretty unique from each other, which I can definitely respect. And Rebirth's story was amazing. It was more so the world intel that felt repetitive to me. Most of the world intel aside from the phenomenon intel felt like a lot of the same. Go activate this tower, find this crystal to get more history of the region, go dig up these transmuter chips so on and so forth. But that was the only part of the game that felt repetitive to me. Overall, Rebirth is an amazing game that I also really enjoyed. As of right now, I do think it's my game of the year because I enjoyed it that much. I just personally didn't enjoy the back half of the platinum.
I also loved getting the platinum in this game. The only thing I would change is for the hard VR missions giving check points for after battles you beat. It would save so much time.
FF7 original will always be the greatest game of all time.

I did JUST that in antecipation of Part lll release as i considered rebirth one of the greatest games of all time! Even tho i despise turn based combat i ended up loving every goddamn second of original FF7, so much so that i also got the plat for it 💯🙏 truly original the G.O.A.T

The first game was a joy to platinum. This time I did all the minigames but couldn't be bothered playng again on hard.

I finished the platinum last week and, yes, this was so much more of a challenge than finishing Remake's platinum. The "To Be a Hero" mission where you have Cloud & Sephiroth was my biggest roadblock mostly because I was relying on Seph as the damage dealer, but the dude doesn't have a traditional block; so I'd take a lot of damage when I got hit. After getting through "To Be a Hero", "Bonds of Friendship" was almost a breeze - took me a couple of hours to get through it and Odin felt almost insignificant by that point because I faced him so many times before in the previous challenge. Alexander was more of a menace in both challenges than Odin for me.
After doing all the VR missions, Hard Mode was almost relaxing beyond the Rufus fight in Chapter 12 and Jenova during the final chapter. I will say that after doing everything in Rebirth, I feel like I'm a much better gamer at this version of Final Fantasy than I ever was coming off of getting the plat in Remake.
That's very interesting because I thought the sephiroth one was a breeze because of how good sephiroths dodge is. I mostly used sephiroth in the fights and beat the challenge on my very first attempt with my own build, but I'm struggling on the bonds of friendship one right now 😭

@fasjab holy crap I just did it by the skin of my teeth. Cloud died and Zack was low health but I summoned Odin right before cloud died and when he died it autocasted zantetsuken which was just enough to finish off Odin 😭 shaking and sweating

My Seph was only there to buff Cloud and assist with an offensive spell a handful of times. I basically soloed Odin with Cloud.

Remake's wasn't an easy plat but it was a fair difficult plat. Rebirth is the kind that feels like a bullshit difficult plat. the simulator brutal and legendary fights are like doing Darksouls or Elden ring without the quick heal potions available and needing atb to do anything. It wasnt any of the minigames for me. its the brutal and legendary fights in the simulator and i loathe them with every fiber of my being. My play style has never been defensive combat or parry or blocking. i am not good at that in any game ever made. I build to work around that. But this simulator forces it. And there is no way to work around it in the legendary fights. Certain builds work for the first 5 brutal challenges and the yuffie brummal form spam works on rulers of outer worlds which still took me forever to beat even with that because of Gilgamesh and Sephiroths rng garbage. I still have not beat one of the legendary fights. And it has become so annoying that i go days without touching the game now. Because i am not having fun anymore. It is a bullshit mode the way they designed it.

@@NoctLightCloud I did all the stuff in 10 back in ps2 era. The only thing i never finished was blitzball as i hated it and just quit. The only ones i struggled to do in 10 was the 200 lightning bolt dodges in the thunder plains and getting 0.00 time on the chocobo minigame with the balloons. in ff9 the only thing i never did was beat ozma. nothing else in 9 ever gave me issues like the simulator in rebirth.

@@TheTez1990 i don't have a issue with difficulty in general. As i played Elden ring and dark souls trilogy. but there is a difference in real fair difficulty and artificial bs difficulty. And the simulator endgame stuff in rebirth falls more into the artificial bs kind. Its not balanced properly and the enemies are over turned for a battle system that requires atb to use heals or do anything. Its like trying to play Dark souls without healing potions that you can just use when needed. Rulers of outer world is so over turned that you pretty much have to cheese it with yuffie unless you are some kind of gamer nerd parry god that never gets hit. I got plat on elden ring and never complained once about any of the fights in that game. But the balance of the brutal and legendary simulator fights is busted unless you are a parry god game guru. Its like they tried to make it like Dark souls and Elden ring without the balance to the system that those games have for such difficult fights.
For me rulers of outer worlds was the hardest challenge because I did it before all the crazy cheese starts were discovered
I feel like if I hadn't used the Yuffie strat it would have also been my hardest challenge too since I had such little experience with the Gilgamesh fight on top of having to deal with Sephiroth's shadowy chain attack. Kudos to you doing it before the strats were discovered!
This was definitely harder to platinum than Remake. The hardest VR in Remake only took me something like 10 tries. The Bonds of Friendship in Rebirth took me 3 days of attempts. Bahamut and Odin just crushed my soul.
Fortunately, Weiss wasn't needed for the platinum trophy because he was also a pain to defeat. I think I had more trouble clearing that fight than the ones in Rebirth
@@vansta93I've also done both, and at least with Weiss we didn't have to go 10 zero-checkpoint rounds first. That lack of checkpoint format is my main issue, as most of the time is being forced to repeat stuff we've already beaten. Imagine being stuck having to watch a half hour unskippable cutscene between attempts where you need practice. The hardness of the bosses was reasonable, but the zero-checkpoint format was not. After getting the platinum I am not even looking forward to part 3. Post story content ought to make players appreciate a game more not less. The minigames also were much more frustrating than fun. I do agree, its a fun game if you ignore the optional content. But, liking the game is what made me interact with it, and afterward it lost me.

I do not often relate to videos this hard, but MAN. I did everything this game told me to do. Everything except the last 2 VR missions, with Sephiroth and Zach . Loss after loss after loss after loss after loss, guide after guide after guide, getting to the last fricking fight, and I just can’t. 200 hours in and no plat, and it taunted me enough to just delete the game. Good on you for fighting through that yourself, it was brutal
Do you need help? The sephiroth one is easy, you can spam dodge and triangle wherever you are to build up his limit in seconds infinitely. For Zack i recommend watching solestro for the build and tips, you can make an aeroga build where you deal big damage with mp and hp absorb without worrying about your mp or hp
Don’t give up man ! You did so much. I’m 200 hrs in and still on chapter 13 ! I haven’t even thought of hard mode yet ! There are great strats I’ve seen on here. You gotta give it another shot. You’re sooo close ! I totally relate to this vid, but I’m determined to see it through !

There's a small part of my that wishes I didn't do the cheese strat for Outer Worlds, but I think if I had tried to do it without that method that I would have lost my sanity. Mad respect for doing it without using the Yuffie strat and congrats on getting the platinum!
@@GingerGiantGaming thing is is that the cheese has to be executed quickly. You would have to play it out quickly, mainly against Virtual Sephiroth (which was where I struggled the most on). I didn’t really did it legit but I just wanted to get it done anyways .
You need to be a blocking master and learn each enemies moves .. it would take 300 hours without cheesing it

@@GingerGiantGaming Lil update cause I forgot I commented this, I did end up platting the game, it took me about 189 hours to do. I finished the game around the 100 hour marker and the last 89 hours were spent doing the combat simulator challenges, hard mode minigames, and finally the hard mode playthrough. Spent 7 hours on the very last sephiroth boss fight cause I was so underprepared and literally had 0 MP xD.

I just got the FF7 Rebirth platinum myself. Just under 200 hours for me as well. But if I can give some advice to people still working on it, save the Bonds of Friendship VR challenge for after you do Hard Mode and the To Be A Hero challenge. First of all, you get to practice the fights with Cloud and Sephiroth, and if you collect all of Cloud's manuscripts, your weapons will get to level 9, and the magic boost you get from that makes Bonds of Friendship SOOO much easier. I completed it the very first time I attempted it with a level 9 weapon because I did SO much more magic damage.
Also, before you go into the last two Legendary VR challenges, spend some time practicing against Odin on full might with Cloud using the materia setup you plan on using in the gauntlets. I was able to learn Odin's attack patterns and how to block him in Prime mode to the point that I had him on farm.
When you said it took you 200 hours to plat, my first thought was 'wow, bro, that was quick'. I'm at 300 hours and still haven't got there yet. Yesterday I managed to beat 'To Be a Hero', after what must have been at least 12 hours/30 attempts. I haven't attempted 'Bonds of Friendship' yet, but knowing that it is more difficult than 'To Be a Hero' has me full of dread. I'm leaving it for a bit because I want to go into it with Cloud's weapon at level 9, for which I need to complete Hard mode. I've just started chapter 13, so it will give me a little break before I drive myself insane again.
Have you watched Optinoobs easy strat vid? Or are you trying to do it without guides?
@@Kean_Bean I've been using Optinoob's guides for most the VR challenges, and they have been really helpful. Never would got as far as I have without them. There are, however, a few challenges where his guides just weren't working for me, and I either had to slightly modify them or come up with something completely different. To Be a Hero was one of those. For that, I looked up numerous guides to get some idea, and then put together my own unique build.

What really worked for me was building Red out as similar to Zack as possible, then I drilled against each enemy individually in the sim and on the World map on hard mode.
About 4 or 5 rounds on each enemy left me confident with each strat and that I could clear them with little to no incident.
(Alexander did nearly end my To be a Hero run).

Alexander took me out a couple of times. My jaw dropped the first time it happened as I'd never lost the Alexander in any VR challenge before. I was in a state of shock. He's not the bad really, but the same can be said of each of the opponents. It's the endurance of ten in a row that's the real problem. Having to start all over again for the umpteenth time after half an hour of intense battling is soul destroying.
I don't know how useful my build will be for Bonds of Friendship as I used Cloud as very much a support player for To Be a Hero. I don't think I'll get away with that with Zack in the party. Your training method sounds like a good idea though, thanks for the tip.
@@Bastion90 Cloud has main build. I replicate Zack’s build on Red (same spells + first strike). Enfeeblement Ring on 3rd character.
You need a character with Zack’s support spells to practice properly.
I found I didn’t fully understand Prime mode until I had run a couple of fights. I thought I had to refresh it if Cloud switched stances, kept wasting ATB re-using it.
The drilling really worked for me. I knew my opponents so well that I got through both bouts on the first run. Was a touch over prepared.
The Hueylacottle and Brineborn Demon can be wiped without them even getting off a proper attack.
Alexander surprised me too. Got me with that shockwave/tracking beam combo, wiped Cloud. Killer Cloud twice in that round I think. Must have got him moments before he was due to cast Judgement.

The third chocobo mini is actually the easiest. The key is that you can actually fly in perpetuity because you can go backwards on the map to recollect all the rings. There’s no timer, so if you have decent control, you can just stay in the air forever due to the boosters the stage provide. At the same time you can set yourself up to get the last two rings as many times as you need.
I feel your pain , I waited for the pro to have my last playthrough for rebirth and I can't even beat chadley missions yet.
yeah they shouldn't make you do the mini games on hard to platinum. either that or improve all of them

I bought game when it was released and it took little less than 2 months to get platinum. For me getting platinum was best part of the game, because minigames and Chadley missions were so annoying, but it just felt so good to finally beat them. Bonds of friendship took 15 runs, but I have never felt so much adrenaline running trough my vein playing any game ever as I felt when I finally beat Odin. It was good feeling and platinum felt like you actually earn it.
I just need 5 exp for party level 10 but i can't get them. Do i need to finish all simulator challenges? I have completed literally everything else.
did you do the hard modes for fort condor and cactuar crush?

I feel like there's also more context to Remake. It was also my first platinum and final fantasy game ON TOP of it being during the start of the pandemic. Kind of a perfect match to be a great game with fond memories attached to itl
Johnny's treasure trove chest coulda been more alternate costumes but nope just another piano song that I will never play cuz level 4 and higher songs are just impossible to me.
I think you actually do have to complete all combat objectives because they give you party exp that allows you to unlock the last folio and master it which is one of the trophies.
Achieving the Platinum trophy pushes you further into the combat system, requiring you to think strategically for those insanely challenging fights in the VR simulation. It's intended for hardcore players, but if you're one of them, you'll enjoy the game even more. I earned the Platinum with 200 hours of gameplay, including all handbooks from side quests and other content.
Theres 1 materia thats requiere for 2 or the vr battles if you dont want them to feel imposible

Beating the platinum has ruined my ability to judge difficulty. GOW2018 on hard mode just doesn't hit the same. Taking 20 tries to beat a Valkyrie feels quaint. After laying them low it's like, you're no Odin.
The fact that the chadley missions is only a damn silver was disheartening to say the least.
I used to play and enjoy the OG FF7, almost 200 hours. And it was fun, a huge great game. No stupid Chadley, nor boring mini games. So disapointed.
Not sure if nostalgia clouds your brain, But the minigames in Rebirth are mostly better than the ones in the OG. Those were meh at best in the saucer and the 3d brawler in the og was so bad i didn't ever hit anything in it lol. They improved the Gold saucer in almost every way. Chadley himself doesn't bother me. The Simulator however does.

@@GingerGiantGaming The og in its time was the best game made in my opinion at that point of 1997. But now it is way outdated due to many factors. I still love it. But the remake helps newer players with the experience playing it first because it offers the experience in mostly the same way with the modern graphics and honestly better handled certain character plot lines than the original did in how they did some of the scenes. Like Cait sith is a way better character in the remake than in the OG. As is Yuffie. Even though Yuffie was still ok in the OG. she got way more depth in the remakes.

Honestly, I play a lot of character actions games like Devil May Cry, so the combat challenges for me weren't really that bad, i had to learn them, but in the end it's about your build and your skill is secondary. After playing it when it released i left it wthout doing the legendary Bouts. I came back few days ago, and still while being rusty i did manage to do bonds of friendship in about 7 attemtps, mostly dying to ironically 2nd stage and To be hero on 3rd attempt (it's way easier and knowledge/tactics about bosses transfers from bond of friendship). All the characters have something broken about them, you just need to learn what. (Cloud - Prime mode, Tifa - trinity strike, Yffie -brumal form etc)
But yeah, my gamplay style for the story was to basically do all sidecontent first and then do main story so i didn't really felt burned out because every time i was feeling exhausted by the minigames i turned to the main story that slaps. I'm yet to start the hard mode run but i got literally everything you can get in the first playthrough and chadley's combat simulator. If it's anything like remake and CCS, then most bosses can be taken down in minutes if not seconds, it's all about the build, especially Magic with genji glove is ridiculous

Well there's only 3 platinum trophies and I rank FF7 Rebirth the 2nd of the hardest Platinum I achieved. wanna know the hardest? it's start with letter S and end with Letter E, it's the 4th installment of that series.
We got minimum 3 years for the next game. I'm going to take my sweet time to go for plat... I noticed ppl who went directly for it got burned out, witch is what I avoided since the get go. The moment I started to feel the burn was around Gongaga going to Cosmo Canyon, I decided to do only main story at that point and got to fully enjoy the rest of the game, and now i enjoy even more just going back & revisite spots to complete things without the pressure. I'm 180H in completing Johnny's quest and after that, ill do HArd mode next year...To me it's like...I got 3 years soo I will milk all within those 3 years
I also love/hate that some minigames are hard. Reminds me of actual hard games in the 90s & early 00s.

That’s what I’m doing, I’m going little by little enjoying the game. Once I stopped pursuing platinum quickly it turned into a much better experience.
A humorous journey! I'm not really a trophy hunter, but AM a completionist so did a lot of the stuff already and closing in on it. Surprisingly finished both minigames you had issues with, though had to look up a guide to the last chocobo flying one. The minigames I have left are the shooting gallery, sit-ups, frog jumping and piano. I think piano will be fine, but the first two seem really hard. And frog jumping... I just couldn't care less about! lol. Still have a few VR battles to go through - and Odin was one of the ones giving me trouble in the last group fight - I think because my normal tanking with Barret strat was triggering Zantetsuken. I sidetracked to the hard run in the meantime. Anyhow, it's frustrating at times but having a lot of fun.

Been stuck on Bonds of Friendship for a long time. Took a few months off. Trying again and still can't do it. Odin. Every time and I've practiced Odin on my own a lot. I'm considering just letting it go at this point because I have like, plateaued or something. Mental block that's impossible to overcome. Cursed.

dude but its so damn easy, look up a guide thre are some really simple ones that could point out things your not really doing. Prime mode is really good for cloud to be using, and read how to use it cause i was using it but didnt understand the whole keep it push down portion, it can give cloud a big damage boost and if you use zack to cast haste cloud will constantly have atb, also swift cast along with a few other blue materia locked to wind magic will make it so you break odin quick, and when he uses the barrier its just a matter of keeping your guys alive, and when the wall comes down you want to save your controlled charaters limit break for when the wall comes down cause he will lock up your controlled character, if you use the limit break just ask hes using temporal shift i believe the abiliteis called you want to use limit break it will by pass the abilitie completely and you wont get locked up. Odin isnt as hard as eveyrone makes him out to be.
Yea when I finished the game I checked what was required to get the platinum and realised straight away it would just destroy any love I had for the game

I believe the combat objections were basically just to get the tokens for materia, but i dont think you have to fully complete them all 3 of each guy. I honestly dont know why they had 3 objections but nothing for gettting all 3
You're a much better player than me, the challenge 5 in brutal challenges took me more than 24 hours total. I'm more than 400 hours into my playthrough... I beat the Sephiroth and Cloud challenge and I have to admit yes I think the Zack and Cloud challenge is hardest combat challenge(Killing Cactuars might be harder but that's a minigame).

I’m up to the last trophy which in the Johnny mission. I told myself I’d stop at the VR missions but need to bring it home. I can confirm this has not been enjoyable and I’m simply giving in to my OCD
I am a completionist at heart so not only the platinum but 100% game log in 280 hours of rebirth it's insane i know but i got my value out of it

I wont lie, this plat hurt me. But, bonds of friendship and to be a hero both felt like victory laps after doing Jules sit ups and Rulers of Outer Worlds.
Jules attacks the Dyslexic like no other.
not gonna lie the sit ups mini game was a payne as all hell. but honestly I couldnt stand the 3d battler, the upper punch and middle punch looked almost the same wiht the party animal guy and sephiroth that it drove me nuts. I still beat both of them without the pausing method, but honestly after party animal and then getting to sephiroth and him having 7 attacks befor he berzerks, was like WOW, and but sephiroth just got easy once you learn he only has 4 attacks after the first berzerk. Piano mini game was a payne but i actually really thought it was fun. Bonds of friendship i thought was really easy actually, i beat that one after only a few tries but to be a hero took me longer till i started using reraise with both sephiroth and cloud during the odin fight which that one time i did that i beat it. outerworlds threw me for a loof that all the summons were so easy but sephiroth at hte end had that lock down attack, but once i learned lvl 3 magic knocked him down and to just keep spamming lvl 3 magic till phase 2, it wasnt really that bad. I gotta say my favorite part of the game was the chocobo racing, it was basically chocobo mario cart but simplified.
I got platinum in 160 hrs about a month after it came out. Actually wasn’t too bad. The brutal fights sucked for a little while because I made my own build and it didn’t work for Helion. The rest was really good. I am stoked for next release I need more!
How did you do all the vr battles before hard mode?
I'm still stuck on rulers of outer worlds and barret vs colossi, and I'm on ch13 of hard mode.
I thought I was a good gamer when I got remake's platinum, but feel so hopeless with some of rebirth's tasks. Incapable of doing ghost ship. :/
Ghost Ship you have to get down the pattern of where all the most important stuff is and how to best hit it without button mashing and losing points due to bad accuracy. it mainly takes practice to get that. Also might help to turn off the trigger resistance on your controller so its not as hard to hit the trigger button when you need to mash it to get the fat chocobo and marlboro targets during ghost ship. For Rulers its a pain no matter what but the Yuffie brummal form spam is the only way to do it unless you are a parry god guru gamer that can block everything and not get hit. Aerith Barret and yuffie all need a specific build for that. and once at Sephiroth you cast haste on all with barret. ATB ward with Aerith. Brummal form with Yuffie until they have full atb. Then cast firaga with aerith and barret and get sephiroth in a loop before he can do shadowy chains. Then once at half hp. Start using Blizagga with Aerith and maximum fury with Barret.

I followed some very helpful guides. I wanted my materia to be maxed out before doing hard mode so that's why I did the Chadley missions first. Some of the guides were really helpful in getting me though the missions early. And I actually completely forgot about the ghost ship. Yeah that one was brutal. The most intense forearm excuse you can get from a video game lol
@@88killerificwhen I did red dragon, I didn’t even think of the revival earrings. Lol I just made sure to kill during that first stagger. I think it was mainly, use Yuffie to break wings for stagger, ATB ward on cloud, then double blizzaga to finish.

I completely understand making a platinum hard to get so not everyone can do it, but I’ve genuinely had to step away from Rebirth and I’m mixed feelings on returning to it soon, cuz when I was playing it everyday, completing side quests & certain specific challenges, I felt accomplished but also, once I unlocked those brutal/legendary ones I realized how fuqed I was 😅
I do think I’ll eventually get the Plat, like with Remake I only ended up getting that one at the beginning of the year despite having Remake since the end of 2020, so using that timeline (heh) of events I’m already further in completion than compared to Remake so 🤷♂️
Anyways great video and I feel like I’m the only person who didn’t wanna yeet myself off a cliff with Rufus in hard mode 😂 normal mode, definitely, I didn’t know he was gonna be like that, but to be fair, none of us did, but since I already knew how he moved I found him readable, and I love to spam blade beams at enemies in this game which helped in that fight. Also, I found out from a guide that you can zip to him when he uses certain attacks which pressure him immediately using triple slash!
Wait…so did you do the Chadley brutal VR missions before doing hard mode? If so, that’s even more savage! Through your hard mode run you get a ton of manuscripts that finish leveling up your weapons, which I always felt would be necessary for the VR missions.
I finished them before going to hard mode too, the manuscripts just slightly did a bit of upgrades, you would also need to finish the side quests on hard to get the rest of the scripts, and some in chadley’s vr.
Yeah, I gave up on the battle arena at the Cactuar and following monsters rush.
Loved the game. Loved the platinum grind. Would not recommend to anybody else to go for it if they aren’t committed to “the gaming lifestyle”. IMO, Platinums should be hard to get, but every mechanic in the game should work as intended (I’m looking at you, Flight de Chocobo👀)
I totally agree with you. I do think platinums should be hard to get. That's the fun of them (at least in my opinion anyway). I'm actually prepping myself to go for Crypt of the Necrodancer in the future
I did remake in just seconds before 60 hours. Rightnow now im at 164 hours on rebirth and im ready for outerworlds and the legendary challenges

FF7 remakes platinum was daycare compared to FF7 rebirth.
The one mini game I had the most problem with was crunches with Jewels.
I dont know i thought just bahamut in the Final shinra building vr mission of remake was harder then any of the battles in rebirth. Bahamut in that final challenge didnt play fair, bahamut arisen in rebirth was 100x easier, and if you knew how to fight odin he wasnt much of a bother.

Quick question did u use the yuffie and aerith combo to build atb with brumal form and atb ward?
I only used it for a handful of fights since it didn't work for everything. I mainly used it on the red dragon fight, outer worlds & some select bosses in hard mode. Other than that, not really.
I gave up on the plat for this for now. Way too frustrating with the way you are forced to do the final VR missions.
I'm close enough to the plat that your video has convinced me to relax on it. I can't beat Gi Nattack and the brutal and legendary Chadley missions are unholy. Although I loved both the hard mode cactuar battles and glide de chocobo 🤣

I survived all the minigames but i still have 2 brutal challenges left. Gilgamesh and Sephiroth really grind my gears.

Just beat Rulers of the Outer Worlds with no cheesing and I feel like I'm actually mastering a game! The original has my heart forever but it's just too easy when you understand the builds.

I think I'm one of the few that walked away liking it more, but I also kept hearing about how hard it was, so I just used Optinoob's guides for the brutal/legendaries and then it was a cake walk. I'm actually struggling much more on the last few chapters of hard mode tbh. But crunches actually took me the most time to do, it was like 3 hours for me lol
This game taking people 200 hours to plat is insane to me. I’m at 120 right now and I only have 3 challenges left til the plat. This is with me getting stuck on several parts for a decently long time. I died on Clouds solo challenge for like 2 hours straight for some reason lmao. If you’re actually good at games (unlike me) you should be able to plat FF7 rebirth in 120 hours or less (not that 120 isn’t a lot). I feel like people say 200 hours and it scares others away. It’s alot, but it’s not that much.
I think it depends how you play the game. I've seen people clear the game in 140 hours or 150. It just personally took me 200 since I took my time with things.
I platinumed in 188 hours. Hard mode was a breeze. Cactuar crush with Aerith, Glide de chocobo 3 and the final VR battle were the only things i got stuck on. The platinum wasnt that bad.
I would of agreed with you on Dyne hard fight, if not for me coming to realisation that i was doing the fight wrong, after about 20 or more fails i changed up my strategy and with new strategy beat it in 2nd attempt, what shocked me more was watching few live streams afterwards where people beat it in only few tries just because their playstyle.
I agree that the chocobo gliding minigame was really rough, i played it pre patch and it had major camera issues back then, but afterwards i saw few people beat it in like under 5 attempts which just made me realise i was just bad at it.
Cactor crush was looking impossible until i found out that certain materia can actually give you an advantage which made it go from near impossible to somewhat hard.
As soon as I saw it needed all the mini games max scores I said nope. I didn't even bother with hard mode lol
A lot of the "difficulties" you had with Chadley's missions can be fixed by equipping the HP MP swap materia and just spam limit breaks and reraise because you have 6000 mp. Odin is very easy when Cloud and Zack both have reraise always on them.
Lol I’ll have to retry it with this. So the only thing is keeping ATB up, does that mean Speed Demon Keychain is the best in slot accessory for this?

@@pongknuckle8933 Enhanced Expeditionary Medal. I never got to the point where I could CONSTANTLY spam reraise after I died, but it's still very useful.
Loadout:
Fire/Ice and Wind/Lightning attached to two elemental materia depending on what I'm fighting, HP MP Swap, Precision defense, Revive and Reraise, any other magic or stat boosting materia (eg first strike, steadfast block, comet, etc.) I would also HIGHLY recommend Enemy Skill to use Sonic Boom because it's a free Bravery and Faith buff, and that materia can give you other useful skills.
It's a lot of blocking and dying, but as long as you perfect block an attack 3 times, you get your limit break. Also, throughout the Limit Break duration all attacks are considered perfectly blocked, so Clouds long startup on lv 3 Limit is actually a good thing, as it gives you more time to get hit before you interrupt their attacks. It also gives HUGE stagger, so if you're fighting more than 2 enemies you can chain limits off of stagger alone (eg, chapter 13 or the first phase of the 2 man colosseum battles). Reraise gives you a buffer for if you make a mistake, but note that there's a little bit of time AFTER you have been resurrected but BEFORE you gain control where you can take damage. OF course, this becomes less of an issue when there are two other party members who have been tanking hits and getting aggro. Those two boss rounds on Rulers of the Outer Worlds are trivially easy because of this. I never could get past Gilgamesh, but that's cuz I never got enough practice and can only fight him ONCE outside of RotOW. This build also makes the Solo Legendary battles easy, because you tend to one or two shot most things.
Duly noted. I didn't end up using reraise that much since it required so much MP, but with your build that wouldn't really matter. I also never really messed around with the HP-MP Swap materia and I feel like I should have. Reading your explanation makes me want to mess around with it and see how bust it is. So if I ever pick up Rebirth again, that's the first thing I'll do

Agreed about the Cactuar minigame, I hate that thing. I feel like I could be at it for weeks and still not be able to beat it.
its all about getting down the right way to use windstorm with yuffie, and the soul drain, sorcerers storm ect with Aerith. The guide by optinoob on youtube helped me know how to beat Cactuar crush. once you get it down its not as hard as when you try to wing it on your own.
I gave up on the idea of plat as soon as I got to the Odin fight.
I didn't do all those crunches and piano sheets to get plat blocked by a Chadley fight!
I'm obligated to complete the platinum but if there's something like Johnny requiring 100% everything in the next one I may just skip it

sadly i used some guilds for the burtal and legeandery fights i am down to one to be a hero i am good at games but i know when some things are just way to high for skill for me i just beat bonds of friendship causes i heard it was the harder one of the last two i like to get the hardest done frist
How I beat most ff games and hard bosses is that I max out everything early and blow through everything. In ff 8 I ate many t rexaurs just to max out strength early and get some rare items for the lion heart in the first cd.
Not sure if you can do similar in rebirth. But I am curious if my strat would still work there.
