I am 71 years old and I started drinking over 100 ozs of water a day and more while exercising. I drink room temperature water and only sip water during a meal. My twin had vertigo a month ago after working outside in the heat. I told her she was dehydrated. She was scheduled for a physical a week later and the blood work showed she was dehydrated. A few family members have a-fib and when they d not drink enough water, they go into a-fib.
YES, drinking water has been far too de-emphasized. "Hot water is better than cold." That's so true, from my own personal experience. Doesn't hurt digestion (hot water), unlike cold water after a meal, for me personally. My stomach is very sensitive to temperature when busy digesting. I can drink lots of hot water after a meal and feel fine. Drink lots of cold water after a meal, the result is instant diarrhea.
I can drink room temperature and lukewarm water and also warmer tea. On the other hand I ever I cannot drink hot water at all even just a little bit makes me feel very ill. I'm thinking that it is possible that it is the chemical in our water supply and as we know warm water hot water open up our circulation more and I think that makes those chemicals rush into my bloodstream thus making me feel so ill. Dr. Mandell do you think my theory is a possible answer? Please reply on this. Thank you very much for this very informative water video. It was very helpful to me. I have a severe case of GERD and your advice regarding our saliva made a bell go off ! I have always drank a lot of water, but I increased it even more with the acidity issues because I read more water could help. I went over board completely ignored what I had already known for years that it's not good to drink too much water at mealtime!😮 I simply wanted the excruciating GERD symptoms to stop. Nothing was working completely changing my diet and strictly adhering to stand away from fried and acidic Foods except for trying to drink vinegar and honey water on lemon water both of which greatly increased my acidity it may help some but it wasn't for me because my stomach just pours acid. I had to get on Zantac and a PPI because the severe acid was eating me up so that I dropped down to only 87 pounds from 145 pounds! I looked so pitiful. They helped me for a while but then my GI instead of weaning me off after 6 to 8 weeks has kept me on them over 12 years!😢 I have tried to get off trying several natural remedies, but just not enough. How does he put out videos EXACTLY regarding your thoughts and issues? I literally started drinking 12 oz of water per hour for 10 hours starting when I wake up, then instead of going straight for coffee I wait about an hour after I'm awake and have the 1st water before my 1st cup of coffee. I have to say in just 48 hours I feel much better than I did before I started this. I make my 1st water with lemon juice, 1/4 teaspoon of himalayan pink salt and a scoop of electrolyte powder and drink that down. Then I cruise throughout the day with 12 oz of regular water every hour from a glass mason jar, really working so far!

Yeah, Drinking Water right way is the main key for staying hydratet. But also keeping in mind, there is oxidation water (metabolic water), and humidity in the food. Eating the right way is also essential for hydration.

good tips, I get alot of water from fruit but if I eat dry fruit/cooked food I up my water intake and include lettuce/salad veggies. Better preventing heat stroke by staying cool and hydrated. When I'm fasting intermittent I drink water will take that advice to sit

It was the way of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and we Muslims are advised to practice drinking water while sitting and drink in three instances, not at once. Islam is truly beneficial in every ways.

I weigh 272 and I drink 256 fl ounces some days, nearly 100% of my body weight. At first I was concerned but then you mentioned environmental factors. I happen to live in the Mojave desert area and I suspect that is a huge factor. The air literally sucks the moisture out of your skin.
I also drink black coffee throughout the day. I've been pausing that at 2PM as you recommend (I sleep at midnight) and I've been feeling much more well rested.
My dad who will be 90 next week, lives with us, and refuses to drink our filtered water. He has only drank tap water. He’s very healthy, never been hospitalized and has never taken any prescription drugs. 😃
We have underground water on a shale property. Had the water tested by The Health Department. It's better than using Bottled Water that may have been heated or stored in plastic for a long time. You may just need an inexpensive filter...or not.

I love water definatly get enough but only when it's cold , any suggestions on how to change ,I have tried heaps of different brands to see if it's the taste ,but I just don't like warm water , I'm in a hot country though 🤷🏼
My Uncle used to drink warm and hot tea or coffee in the morning and afternoon and after Dinner. He swore that it caused his body temperature to rise just enough that the warm air felt cooler on his body. I can understand it, in a way. By the way... He was an American Diplomat in a very hot Country, and they did this as well. So, there may be some validity to it. As a retired HealthCare P.A., I see the reasoning. I just remembered this while reading the comments, and may try it myself, as Summers have become hotter.
First sit and drink water Second take just a small quantity so the stomach will know whats coming.then the second nd third time. Third drink it not cold.
What about a glass of water before bed? ..I have this habit of drinking water every night before I go to bed & sip it instead of chugging it down & not cold just regular water. My bad habit is also 1st thing to do is to make my cup of coffee in the morning and skip water but I should try to drink water 1st with APC vinegar and THEN wait to get my coffee ☕ afterwards..😹😸

If you drink water, it's usually alkaline or neutral. Either way you don't need saliva for that.

I weigh 272 and I drink 256 fl ounces some days, nearly 100% of my body weight.
At first I was concerned but then you mentioned environmental factors.
I happen to live in the Mojave desert area and I suspect that is a huge factor.
The air literally sucks the moisture out of your skin.
I also drink black coffee throughout the day.
I've been pausing that at 2PM as you recommend (I sleep at midnight) and I've been feeling much more well rested.
im confused, so if I weigh 240 lbs, then half my body weight in ounces is 120 ? So thats 120 ounces of water I should drink during day ?

My dad who will be 90 next week, lives with us, and refuses to drink our filtered water. He has only drank tap water. He’s very healthy, never been hospitalized and has never taken any prescription drugs. 😃
We have underground water on a shale property. Had the water tested by The Health Department. It's better than using Bottled Water that may have been heated or stored in plastic for a long time. You may just need an inexpensive filter...or not.

I love water definatly get enough but only when it's cold , any suggestions on how to change ,I have tried heaps of different brands to see if it's the taste ,but I just don't like warm water , I'm in a hot country though 🤷🏼
My Uncle used to drink warm and hot tea or coffee in the morning and afternoon and after Dinner.
He swore that it caused his body temperature to rise just enough that the warm air felt cooler on his body.
I can understand it, in a way.
By the way... He was an American Diplomat in a very hot Country, and they did this as well.
So, there may be some validity to it.
As a retired HealthCare P.A., I see the reasoning. I just remembered this while reading the comments, and may try it myself, as Summers have become hotter.

Second take just a small quantity so the stomach will know whats coming.then the second nd third time.
Third drink it not cold.

What about a glass of water before bed? ..I have this habit of drinking water every night before I go to bed & sip it instead of chugging it down & not cold just regular water.
My bad habit is also 1st thing to do is to make my cup of coffee in the morning and skip water but I should try to drink water 1st with APC vinegar and THEN wait to get my coffee ☕ afterwards..😹😸
