E-signatures and digital signatures have both brought convenience to authenticating important documents in the digital age. And while they’re similar, they're not the same. The good thing about esignatures, you can have a lot of people sign for you, if you're not around, and you can do the same for others. Yeah, it's easy to copy. It's nice to have actual writing outlawed.
TRANSLATION: e-signatures are easier but riskier. Digital signatures are safer, but much more of a hassle. And I understand there is at least one other type of online signature. Anyway
you cut it, it’s all massive confusion! And I believe it was all intended to be that way. My investment firm starts out using “DocuSign”, then “Equipt”, and now “Osaic.” My financial advisor just told me a few minutes ago that the latter two have different purposes which I can’t remember. I think I’m just gonna stick with old fashioned wet signatures. They are still the most secure, which explains why some companies insist on using them still. 😤Thank you!
