To everyone with problems that your map is not appearing in the map selection, you need to select the ZIP option when putting back to zip, otherwise won't work (at least for me worked good) and you need to let the ".zip" in the name, just for precaution. I hope i helped with something!

Just one thing, I transferred my map template into the mods folder and in the mods manager in BeamNG I can see my map but it is not coming up in the list of maps to spawn. Hi spencer! this is awesome! I got a question Concerning generated terrain ! Once Generated can I paint my own texture in some paint software and then import it onto the plane.
Did you try to edit the file when it's in the \Program Files directory? In that case, you'll need to open a Notepad as administrator. It's so much easier for it to be a part of the user profile directory, than the \Program Files directory.
I'm stuck after making the file into a zip file then moving the file into the "mods" folder it does not show up in Beam, (also when it does you usually have to "unpack" the zip file from repository but I'm not seeing it in there either)? My Beam is on the v4.9.4 and Alpha v0.30.5 version but that shouldn't make a difference.

@@ElmoPlayss This is generally caused by not naming properly. Double check all your files that you have named. If needed redo the tutorial from scratch following exactly spencers steps.

I have been attempting to build my dream racetrack of a road I drive/ drove for many years here in Central Oregon around lake billy chinook. I have been able to get not very far in the process, I know exactly what I want but I just can't make it come together. I've watched COUNTLESS videos and none get me any further than the other etc.... Is there an easier way to make this happen or am I pretty much sol? I should mention, this has been a dream of mine to race around it consequence free since I was a kid, i have had the pleasure of driving a few fairly impressive cars to work and around the lake for fun over the years but i just want to unleash in something worthy, if that makes sense? The canyon itself is located near my hometown of Culver Oregon. The top of the canyon where the road starts is just over 400 feet straight down to the water on a fairly sketchy 2 lane road. My idea is to have it start at the straightaway where you turn on to go to the lake. It's about a mile straight until it drops down the first high speed section that quickly turns a free flowing (in my "built" 93 300e benz it holds nice at 75-80ish) before it tightens up at the end of the corner into an immediate hard left that passes by a waterfall. There's a few lower speed corners that lead to the main straight away that takes you down the hill FAST. About halfway down the road there is a decent bump in the road and a slight left bend that takes you the other half of the way down to the VERY tight hairpin left at the bottom (and to think I've pulled 80+ foot houseboats around that more than once lol) it then flows into some decent high speed corners that bring you past the 1st boat launch and you start following the lake itself at about 40 feet above the water. Most of the rest is a lot of windy tight corners that come to another, almost switchback, that takes you across the 1st bridge (maybe 300 feet) then an immediate right up a hill that takes you from 40 feet to I'd say 150ish feet that is a deceivingly high speed run then down the backside to a few more sper tight corners and then some of the most beautiful high-speed, tight cornering I've seen this side of Nurburgring. Eventually it takes you to the second bridge and my second favorite part!! As soon as you come off the second (this one single lane) bridge, it takes you to the left and up a tight but high speed short run to the first switchback to the right, a 1/4 mile run with some slight kinks, then the second. Just since the first we have gone up vertically around 250 feet, it's a blast. As you come out of the second it's a very steep long back and forth climb the next 1.5/2 miles out of the canyon to a 90 degree turn in the road, from this corner it takes you about a mile dead straight along an airstrip, another 90 to the left and about 3 miles of straightaway with a nice slight downhill to it with a good bump about half way down. Again the road makes yet another 90 to the right and again another 2-2.5 mile straight, and finally the last 90 that takes you west for about 5 miles dead straight until it finally turns into a gravel road... (yet another reason i would like to figure this out, would like a stage from here the several miles to the next little town, it's the perfect rally road that's about the same style road but all gravel and very desolate. As you have probably gathered, I am very passionate about making this happen, would like to run it as a map for Assetto Corsa and BeamNG. I am pretty sure it is possible, I have gotten as far as making the 3d terrain in blender through the gis tool but the videos I have found have different configurations than mine or I hit a hiccup that they do not and I can't find the answer and end up at square one. I have absolutely zero knowledge as to what I am actually doing other than following other peoples lead and i feel the information is VERY all over the place. I have tried to include several pictures of my theoretical track/ hill climb but it keeps saying they are too big so I'll try to hopefully have them all posted as this goes live along with it. so yeah thanks if you made it this far and thanks a billion times more if you can at all give me any guidance, very honestly appreciate the help guys!
Breakdown: - download your premade map - rename the main file - rename the directory in all the json files - save new zip file - put into mod folder I guess I'm just a little disappointed. This is not a tutorial on making your own map at all. It's a tutorial about how the file structure works at best.
I have to mention that as a presentation It is really not well composed and hard to follow, you speak quick, unfocused, I restarted 3 times the video because there's a lot of times I just lost the meaning why you talk about what you talking about. Good content, please put a bit more effort in clearity. the content is really needed and there isn't mutch coverage of it on YT. I am glad for the content. keep up the good work.

My mod won't show. I tried putting it in mods > repo too but it just doesn't show up in the map selection and also not in the Mods Manager

Doesnt work for at all. Terrain doesnt load and the vehicle just free falls. The files in this video are not the same we get in the download.
Sorry you’re experiencing these issues, the files should be the same though
@@Spealer It also includes terrain.terrain and terrain.ter. No matter what i do i cannot get solid ground. Only falling. I dont know what else to do.
The thing with free falling is because you have to watch the 2nd episode of this tutorial to even create a floor.

You can always do this with any regular map in the game, you don't have to follow my "Preset Map". I just found it easier for beginners to start here.
Watch Part 2 + 3 for actually info on World Editor stuff. I also have a tutorial on how to Import your own models to get you started aswell.
