My Month Living with the Audi TTS Coupe - I am converted !

- Опубліковано 12 вер 2024
- I have always been a huge fan of the Audi TT, but the Roadster NOT the Coupe. Thanks to Audi UK I have spent the last month driving a TTS Coupe and it has converted me. Fast but not too fast, Huge grip and B Road performance and the thing I didn't expect....REALLY PRACTICAL !
I take a drive to our house in Mevagissey and share my experiences of the last month and nearly 2000 miles.

Never mind the car im jealous of having a house in Cornwall, seriously though i have a S5 Sportback and the rain water coming in the boot is a pain, it also does it on occasion with the front doors if the car is parked on a street with a bit of a rake and if you power wash the front doors at a certain angle a small amount of water will manage to spray inside due to the frameless windows.
Great 'real-world' review Pete. I've had my 2015 TTS for 3 months now and use it daily in London, with regular weekend trips out of town. It's been phenomenal so far, striking the perfect balance between a sporty city car with impressive practicality, easy going motorway cruiser and a total beast whenever the opportunity arises. The S-tronic box and various driving modes are so flexible, allowing me to drive in whichever mood I'm in, which is a huge real-world bonus. The 20" alloys are a nightmare in town but apart from the little issues you've pointed out, I don't think there are many sporty cars that offer such an all-round package. I highly recommend the TTS as a perfect daily! Looks fab in Sepang Blue too! 😊👌 Have a great holiday and enjoy your remaining time with the car! 👍
Thanks for the comment Julian. Sounds like you love your car and quite right too 👍
Best review of the TTs I've seen ou UA-cam. Seriously weighing up options for my midlife fun car. Was thinking of BMW 4 series or Audi S5. Both good cars but after test driving the TTs, that's the one that excited me rather than "that was a nice comfortable fast car". I've had a lifetime of sensible cars😁😁
Thanks 🙏🏻
love the way you reply to everyone, nice touch
Takes a lot of my time but well worth it 👍
Your spot on with the steering wheel. Not just audi. Can never get the wheel close enough.... love the red trim.. great vid guys xx
The more racing I do the closer I what the wheel 😂
The 2015+ tts convertible is one of my favourite dream cars for just chilling with the open roof going through the mountains in a sunny day
Always practical in your reviews. Much appreciated.
My pleasure 👍
Ooh a blast from the past! Back catalogue time again. Sleepy pup and a nice balanced review, couldn't ask for much more. Cheers Ped.
I love it when you guys hit the back catalogue 👍
Great Specialized. I just started bringing back my '01 Roadster with no room for my LOOK. Fortunately, I've a sedan for it. Thanks for this. Editing is great.
Thanks 👍
Really liked the TTS video having just sold my 2016 TTS your comments are spot on.
The water in the tail gate true, the sat nav can be the same as the S4 just use a data sim linked to mmi.
Like you I am Audi nut myself, but Audi are dropping the TT , I just don't get it!
Still with Audi moved to a new RS3 Audi Sport Edition, will always be a TT fan starting with a 240 Sport.
Keep up the Audi content...
Cheers Dale. Great to hear we are on the same page 👍
They are dropping the TT because it sells so few. Part of that is because everybody wants SUVs, part of that is because there's an $11,000 USD difference between a TT and its equivalent A3-series counterpart. You get less car for more money and that makes it a hard sell for what is otherwise the same vehicle. Like, TTS money gets you an RS3...
Great video. Thanks for making it.
I just picked up a 2016 TTS. I love it. It's our 3rd Audi
Enjoy the new wheels 👍
Hi Ped
As a fellow Audi man appreciate your honest review. Agree with your comment as a daily driver this car is the right size, practical, and ample power to give a pleasurable driving experience. Great to see Petrol Pup enjoying the ride.🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
We both love Cornwall booked again next year, cannot wait.
Cornwall is the best and I thought you'd like the pups 👍
After a brief but enjoyable flirtation with a Lotus Elise 220 sport now back into TT territory with the impending delivery of a new TTS and I can't wait. Very informative vids. Thank you
Both great cars. Definitely the TTS to live with 👍
Pete, followed you advice. Drove one for a while and now i am the proud owner of a TTS coupe.
Great to hear 👍
Hi, thanks for the great video. Love the Audi TT. Your shades look cool. Would you please be able to tell me what type of Oakley sunglasses they are?! Thanks 😂
Oakley Jupiter Carbons 👍
I've been thinking about changing in my A5 Black Edition for a smaller car. You've sold me on it. TTS here I come!
That is great to hear 👏
I own this car, what an accurate review👌. I agree with the seatbelt issue, I experience it as well. I also experience the fact that the steering does not reach enough. Great car & great economy.
Nice to know I'm not making stuff up 👍😂😂
I decided to use a seatbelt clip to do away with the seatbelt pressure and lack of height adjustment. The TT is my second car and the first is an SUV so just could not get used to the low positioning of the seatbelt on the TT. The cheap clip from Amazon did the trick beautifully.
Another terrific video Ped! The petrol pups are so damn cute! Peace and respect, Ben
Thanks Ben. They are very well behaved and yes...quite cute 😜😂
Great review, I wan t to upgrade my 16 TT for a TTs, so your comments well appreciated.
You won't regret it 👍
My driver is a 2012 A4 Avant. Purchased new, numerous issues. However since replacing pistons and rings at 50 k and a number of modifications added I thoroughly enjoy it. My wife has a 2014 TTS that I also enjoy driving. Im currently awaiting delivery on a 2022 Chronos Grey TTS. My wife will take the Avant as hers, and I get her TTS to trade on the 2022 TTS. Actually the best of both worlds, I’m the primary driver for both of the Audis. 👍
TT is my next car and I'm so glad that I found You! Video with all details is what I need, thank You!
Enjoy 👍
I literally went down a few of those roads yesterday on my way home from a quick trip in Southampton!!
Cool 👍
KERNOW on a sunny day can’t be beat. Especially with a pint of Doom and a pasty in hand.
Oh yes...Doombar or Tribute are my go to beers 🍺🍺
Playing catch up again but well worth it! Great video as always Peter and yep I'm a big Audi fan too - that view from your place is to die for!!! Sure you enjoyed that beer too!
Thanks Paul. We are very lucky. Just about to have a full interior refurb so once that is done I do a show around video 👍
@@PetrolPed ...sounds good, look forward to that one Peter!!!
I have mark 2 and I love it to bits. Its 4 zears with me and not a single problem to date. Even tho its 1.8TFSI engine with 160ps. I must say its actually quite fast if you stick it. its responsive and I managed to go 230KMH with room to go faster. So yea if anyone wanna buy TT do it they are fantastic cars
Audi tt rocks and now there no longer being made 😢. Keeping my 08 mk2 3.2 vr6 manual for a few more years 😊
Brilliant review Peter. Once again I really love the turbo blue. I think you are hitting the sweet spot regarding BHP on the public roads. I had a Mk2 TT and really enjoyed driving it. It had the same problem with rain water dripping into the boot when the rear hatch was open in wet conditions. I drove from Belfast to Dublin with my brother sitting in the back!!! Took him a few hours and few Guinness to straighten out!!! That village were your summer home is looks absolutely beautiful. Ps get Mrs Ped to a race track asap!!!
I've been trying to get Mrs PP on a track for ages. I will continue to try 😜
Really enjoyed the format of the video as I did your trip to the South of France
Cheers Alex. Filming it kept me busy on the journey 😂
Hi Pete, good to see the pups again. The "TTs sure looks appealing as a small all-rounder. I hope to join the
Audi family early next year. Take care mate, be safe, and carry on!! Always look forward to your vids'.
Cheers Bud. Always looking for ways to get the pups in vids 😂
I've just purchased a tts as a bit of a trial before I take the plunge for a rs . Loving it so far . My thoughts are the same as yours too as I visit meva and fowey twice a year don't think I would take it down the back lanes . Meva is a mare to drive thro but great place . Keep the great work up
I bought my Mk2 TTS Roadster as I couldn't quite stretch the the RS at the time. Had it 5 years and the only thing I really missed was the fixed spoiler and the 5 cylinder sound. Not sure the extra money is worth it, especially with the performance of this one 🤔
@@PetrolPed yes it's a very valid point indeed for the extra 20k ish what do actually get. I suppose noise and a bit more speed . Are the rs a bit more harsh on the suspension? I could upgrade the a4 avant instead. But having two nice audis might be a bit greedy ;0)
Alright Pete, great honest review on the Audi. I've always been an Audi fan but it would have to be a group B Quattro Sport S1 E2 for me lol, now there's a surprise 😁. Hope you and mrs Petrol Ped had a great break away, all the best mate 👍🏁
That would be fun to daily 😂
@@PetrolPed
Oh yes lol 👍🏁
Spot on Pete wife had a 987 a move to the sticks meant 4WD needed, bit worried about "downgrading" to a mere Audi but one MK2 and two MK3 TTSs later we have never looked back. They just do everything so well sad day that they are for the axe but maybe good news that the value will be retained if Audis replacement is a 4 door! All the best Dan
TTs have a habit of doing that. To own and drive they really are very good 👍
Interesting, I was very close to buying a new TT a few years back but right at the last minute swerved for a Golf GTI. Didn’t realise the TTS was so practical... may have to consider it in the future. Great video as always Peter! 👍
It surprised me too. The rear passenger room can't compete with a hatch though 😪
I went from 2017 TTS, then an RS3 sportback, to a 2019 TT RS - no issues with day to day practicality in the TT and with the rear seats folded, I can get all my fishing gear in, the same as my RS3 actually. OK, rear 'seats' are for kids, both other than that, a great daily driver and MUCH sharper than my RS3 to drive. Better driving position as well and no stupid pop up screen to distract me. Glad Audi didn't put one in the TT. Only thing I don't like are the fake rear vents on my car and the slightly muted sound - my RS3 popped and crackled, my new TT RS doesn't. I'm currently looking for an aftermarket exhaust and remap to solve this issue.
Excellent video. Great review and good to hear just how practical the TTS really is. I've always been a TT fan and may get one at some point, who knows!! My god those streets really are narrow, yes definitely not taking a supercar around those streets. Enjoy.
They sure are. Every now and then some idiot tries to take a caravan through there and gets stuck 😂
I test drove an mk2 on a whim and fell in love with the handling and turbo whoosh.
I bought it the next day.
Awesome 👍
Gosh, forgot about the car once you reached the town-narrow winding street and lovely architecture. How beautiful! It's magical in fact. What a relaxing drive - still prefer your Audi over the Audi TT (which I have driven as well). The seatbelt issue and water in the hatch once opened, are very annoying as you mentioned. Your little driving companion is a doll, I miss having a relaxed dog (mine is on edge/alert even when asleep). Another fantastic video, this one is in the top 5 :)
Thanks Ginny. Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Hello my friend. Love the analysis, especially when ya couldn’t keep up with Mrs PP lmao. I like secure footing, especially when I want to push on. Same as you, I’m very Audi biased. So so much respect from that time I let the big one take over in a bend. Love it.
Cheers Bud 👍
Great video! On the running costs front, my TTS has done over 27000 miles on its original tyres! Which I think is incredible. Enjoy Cornwall!
Ricky Mills wow 😮 I only got 13000 miles out of my S4 front tires .
WOW !Fronts on my S4 lasted 15k 🤔
Great video Peter. I think the fact the S4 was fully loaded speaks for itself. The TT is growing on me but i think i will stick with the Audi brand but not venture into a TT. Those views would have made the drive down well worth it...
It makes you forget the long journey very quickly 👍
A very timely and helpful review for me as I am right in the middle of trying to decide what my next car will be. I have always been a fan of the TT but have never owned one, but now I am struggling to knock it off my short list. One of the reasons I have passed on them before is the view I have heard amongst my fellow petrol heads that it is a ladies car (some of the less reverent of my social circle even call it a hairdressers car...). At the risk of further offending the male respondents here I welcome (polite) replies that I can pass on.... Seriously, as somebody who once owned a 911 but can no longer afford one I see a lot of parallels in the TT(S) in terms of performance and practicality - for less than half the price ! Hmmm... sorely tempted.
Those comments come mostly from people who have NOT driven a TT. Normally the same people that say Boxsters are for people that can't afford a 911. Again another stupid statement they once heard Jeremy Clarkson say 🙄
I can say the first few generations did look like a LADIES car, had the total VW beetle look etc..........HOWEVER, that changed in the last update COMPLETELY! More than EVER this car draws WOMEN in for the DATE! It has overcome all of the short comings in looks, mean looking front end, sexy curves entirely, gives the R8 a run in the looks department! Compared to PORSCHE, this car is a toyota for reliability! Buy used and certified etc, at 45% less and you have found HEAVEN on EARTH! Handles in my opinion much better than a Porsche cayman S (not the 911) and looks better than a $300,000 Mclaren IMO!
I looked at Cayman 718, then this came along two weeks ago. I got a the TTS Quattro Black Edition 320bhp. No question the best bang for the buck and a 21 plate. I couldn’t care less what people might say…I’m loving this car. Midlife challenge solved. One very happy owner.
I’ve had a TDI for 4 1/2 years and have enjoyed every minute behind the wheel. I do about 18k a year (and pay for my own fuel!) s economy was a major consideration when I bought it, but the fun factor, even with “only” 180bhp, is very high. The handling is second to none, the comfort is as you describe (very good) and the tech is intuitive and extensive. I am also a fan of rag tops, but the TT coupe just looks far better and I have never regretted getting it rather than the roadster. All in all a delightful car to own and drive, and as I look for a replacement I am struggling to find an alternative to getting another one! I only wish Audi did a wider range of leather colours for their interiors. Dark grey or black is very unimaginative!
Hi ik you commented this over 2 year ago but recently been looking at getting a TDI TT myself as fuel economy is a factor for me as well, I was jsut wondering if it was the fwd you had or if it was Quattro and if it was the fwd if it is still a good drive
@@joecullen3477 I’ve still got the car, now on 112k, averaging 54mpg since new and running like a sewing machine! I’ve got the front wheel drive version..plenty of fun!
@@nigelpearson9101 so you'd definitely recommend it, I need to test drive one like, does it have plenty of pull if you floor it with it being diesel ahahah
@@joecullen3477 I’ve owned a Boxster that put a smile on my face every time a I drove it. The TT is the closest I’ve come to that sensation since. It’s not a boy racer car but has enough poke to be fun and not break the bank… definitely recommend…
@@nigelpearson9101 okiee thank you mate, honestly didn't think id get a reply, thank you honestly
Another great review, I’ve had a mk3 tts since 2015 and absolutely love it, I went for the manual which is great to drive on the B roads.
Both my TTs were manual. I bet it works really well 👍
@@PetrolPed Loving my stock, low mileage 2008 TT manual, the first TT I recently managed to get my hands on and it's a keeper! :)
Yet another measured, insightful review. You’ve owned/reviewed a lot of the cars that I’ve owned and your analysis is always spot on. Not only have I subscribed, I’ve UNsubscribed from CarWow and their largely useless, over-the-top attempts at automotive journalism.
Thanks David. Kind of you to say. I always try to give a balanced view and talk about stuff you can't Google, like how it feels to drive. Thanks for the Sub and welcome to the channel 👍
Great video, I’m considering getting one of these. Ps you are brave to drive through that narrow part of the town rather than from the portmellon side 😃
Portmellon is too much of a detour 😂
Petrol Ped thought you might enjoy another 20 mins in the TTS 😂. Great idea to review a real journey 👍🏼
Iv always loved the TT and I’m currently in the market for a TTS, I found your review very informative and helpful, they look amazing cars, hard decision to go for the coupe or the roadster, looking at your other videos I can guess which you’d choose. ☺️.
Glad it was helpful!
Interesting your point about Audi’s being a bit sterile Pete. I chose the S1 over the Mk 7 Fiesta ST for exactly that reason. The ST was more edgy but I love the refinement of the S1. Plus, down here in Cornwall, you rarely see another S1 👍
My Mini is edgy which I love, but for everyday use you can't beat the traction and shear grip of a Quattro Audi 👍
Cheers for having me in your video 😂 17:33
Sod practicality!! For my mid life crisis 2nd car I went the whole hog and got the new TTS roadster. Solves the rain in the boot issue.
I'm currently trying to break my dad into his midlife crisis, hopefully I can get him to get a car as nice as that 😂
It’s a super car.I can get my 5 and 7 year old in the back and a weeks shopping in the boot mate. The Audi range is great at the moment Pete 🏎💨🍻👍🍷Same here drives me mad, people doing 40mph in a 60mph zone 🥴 Must be the design because my mk2 TTs leaks water when opening the boot too 😂 seat belt covers stop the seat belt slip 👍
Great I'm on the same page 👍
Great video. Enjoy Cornwall. Not been down to Penryn yet this summer . Very apt for us this vid. Seeing as Audi discontinuing the TT we are considering getting one to run alongside our 8n V6 TT , as I run the larger ,family duties, car. Similar colour under consideration too. Interestingly on my last Essex to Wiltshire trip , which was a cruise , rather than blat , due to traffic the V6 managed high 30s mpg ! On your way to Wales maybe divert over Exmoor before the motorway from Exeter. ;-)
Gotta love a V6 TT 👌
I really enjoyed that. Mevagissey looks beautiful as well. I was genuinely considering the TTS as my next car, but I went ahead and purchased the new Golf GTI TCR, which is due in October. I suppose like you, I'm quite brand loyal and I've had many VW's. Including my current 2016 GTI Performance. There's something about how a GTI drives that just gets me. But I do have soft spot for the TT and maybe the next upgrade after the new car might be the TT RS 😍😁
Hi Darren. I totally get that. I think a Golf GTi or R would be an amazing daily. Brilliant cars to drive. I have always thought I'd got hatch (S3, Golf or as it turns out Mini GP3 !) if I didn't want the soft top any more. The coupe format worked much better than I thought it would and also looks mega 👌
Good review Pete i would certainly be tempted by a TTS next. Love a coupe 👍
I do now too 😂
Really excellent film Pete, loved it.
Thanks Justin 👍
Awesome reviews, thank you! My dream car is an F Type V6S coupe, which I can’t quite stretch the budget to. So as a compromise I’m thinking the TTS is a solid bet for some thrills....
Hey bro. I’ve had an F type V6S and a TTS, and driven the TTRS. I can tell you that whilst I think the F type is the best sounding out of the 3, the TT’s are way more fun to drive - they’re sport cars, the F type is more of a GT and feels more boaty.
I’d definitely say get the TTS if you’re after good handling and performance, and get the F Type if you’re after sporty cruiser.
That Mevagissey hill. I used to live in St.Austell and I have often driven up that hill en route to visit friends. In summer one had to avoid that hill and take an alternative route.
Had a S3 2010 manual and loved it so much...full of abuse ; ).... after that the S5 2013 V6 aut ...HATED it so much and now I got the TTs 2017 manual and back in love ; ) and how more I look at it the more I become aware the design department did a fantastic job...on top of the performance in general.
Manual...nice 👏
Fantastic video sir Pete. Love the color of the car! These car always catch my attention. Also I agree a safe fast car for a daily is sensible. Nothing extreme or crazy to drive for a daily
very nice car, well speced gorgeous colour not sure on the red aspects would prefer the same blue as the car,and yet again great video and I think the sound quality was better
Thanks for the feedback 👍
Great review buddy. Love the look of Mevagissy Must get down there for a holiday someday (normal getaway for us is Hartland in North Devon) 👍
Nice. I like Meva because it is still pretty unspoiled from the march or tourism and Rick Stein 😂
That is one narrow road ....Hummer H1 drivers need not apply ! The rear seats should just be a storage area as definitely no room. Great long term review Mr. Ped 👍🏻. Come on car manufacturers let the Ped show your wares ??? He does a great job !!
Thanks for such kind words. I'll send this to said car manufacturers 😂
Great review and a VERY nice bike. I clocked your Ventoux Cingles T-Shirt the other day. No need for a coupe when your'e a roadie - surely...!
Thanks mate. There is a video on my channel if the day I joined that club 👍
Nice report, iam after a ttS some time this year a 2015/16 in that blue but with RED leather seats.. I had a 2003 225 bhp TT and I loved it it was super reliable, bullet proof engine love the roar on the TTS in sport mode... Just what I need for my retirement hooligan trips, my wife loves the TT so iam Kins of home n dry in getting my own way haha.. can wait to own another TT no brainer really ... Take care 🤪🤪👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Good review. Having done a similar trip to Helston last week it was interesting to hear how you would get on in a small sports coupe.
It does seem a capable car to have as a daily for most people. I quite like those red bits on the seats as it breaks up the endless black and silvers we see in most German cars.
Hope you had as good weather as we did along the coast 👍
The weather has been lovely thanks. Sadly back home today 😪
Great job! Looking at the TTS or a Golf R. I'm an old guy that loves to shift manual but the TTS is so pretty I think I could give up the stick. Too bad we don't get manual version of the TTS in the US. Either way I don't think I can go wrong MK& Golf R is nice too.
Both great cars 👏
I agree .. yet. I think I may change too.
I’d rather your S4 than the TT myself but drive whatever you wanna drive is the name of the game really eh..
Btw great to see the pups strapped in property 👍🏻
That's why we own an S4 and not a TT 😜 Legally pups have to be strapped in. Passenger airbag switch off too 👍
That’s a good thing, need to look after pups. 👍🏻
Nice one Pete...my wife has her eye on a TT S...though she loves her S1 with its manual box! 👍🏻
Ooo, never driven the S1 but I can image it's brilliant 👍
@@PetrolPed I've not tried one either but hope Audi bring it back in the new A1. Dickie Meaden and the Evo gang have always said the S1 is the best drivers car in the Audi range for interaction and fun.
Another great video 👍🏻. Should the front cup holder become a water bowl for petrol pup? The last minute or so brought back memories of just how narrow the streets are.
Great idea 👏
Meva is SO narrow, but not as bad a Fowey 😂
Petrol Ped Fowey is super tight! A few large vehicles have got stuck in the past!
Alright Pete, hope all is well mate. I was thinking you should go to Castle Coombe Saturday 21st of September for Rally day, don't know if you've ever been to it but I'm sure you'd enjoy it. It's a great day out, loads of opportunities to see awesome old and new rally cars, meet various old and current rally drivers, and you can be taken around the circuit by rally drivers, just a thought if you're available and at a loose end 👍🏁
Not sure what I'm doing that day. I'll look into it 👍
Great little review... No nonsense.. Stuff you want to know and some real.world figures for fuel etc. Nice.
Hi Peter. Maybe as quick as the S4 with a stage 1 remap! Superb video as per usual. Cheers, Jon.
Nothing is as quick as the S4 when it's being driven by Mrs PP 😂
First video I've seen of yours and really enjoyed it, thanks. I've been thinking of upgrading to first "nice" car and going for a new TTS. Particularly pleased that you could get a road bike in reasonably easily!! What optional extras would you say are a must?
Drive one and I think you'll be impressed 👍
Ensure it has the digital dash (its a must) some early models did not have that option standard! Pure AWESOMENESS = heaven on EARTH! i can fit my fold up bike inside easily in my girlfriends car (Audi TTS) Ok, i drive hers and she drives mine..LOL! MPG is EXCELLENT even driving this like a race car on a regular road! You can buy a TTRS used too = ILLEGAL drug feelings of SPEED- OMG, girlfriend got wet first time! You can APR upgrade the TTS to RS speed too (not that you will need to!
Good evening Peter liked the Euro pop electro backing track on the tts vlog on Friday, seems like it could tick a lot of boxes for a potential buyer. Hello from Peru!!
Love this video, have you done any videos on your S4 and a TT Mk2?
Hopefully at some point I will be visiting family in Newtown mid Wales, I am without a car at the moment (last 3 cars have been BMW) so fancy having a look at Audi Quattro cars for good handling around the roads in mid Wales.
Plenty of videos on the S4. I owned the TTS in the days before I did UA-cam 😢
Up till 2015 i was all jaguar. Then my wive wanted A4 Estate. After a driving holiday i came back with a different mindset. So now i have TT. Great fun .only negative is a bit of road noise inside . A4 has it all.no negatives
I do like Audis it must be said 👍
Another very fair car review Peter as always. I prefer coupes myself to convertibles they for me always drive better. Watching from our Hotel in Belgium for the GP. Busy week next week with the Project 8 and our trip to Monza . Keep up the good work Peter . Will there be any more mods on the mini ?
The only mod I might do is a seat upgrade. Other than that I am saving my pennies for the GP3.
Is it next week you get the Project 8 then ?

Wondering if you think ( as a fellow cyclist ) this is more practical than the other car I have in mind, mini clubman, for taking a bike “ plus “ stuff on a few road trips. France for example .
Clubman would be more practical as you can also have a roof box 👌
@@PetrolPed thanks for prompt reply. Yes I did think roof box for stuff and bringing back wine and pastis . Lol. Great video content. Enjoy your videos. Best wishes.🏴🥃🚵🏼♂️
Just picked up my 2 year old TTS Coupé. Having a 5’3” tall wife and 2 similar sized daughters it works well as a 2+1 with the front passenger seat pushed forward. Having moved from a series of BMW 5’s, the last being my beloved BMW 530d m sport, I am looking forward to many years of back country riding ahead! It’s not as comfortable on the motorway but superb on A and B roads.
Short driver and kids in the back...Perfect 👌
My grand parents moved to Mevagissey, I liked it but my mum hated it - I think that’s more to do with it not being her parents who moved!
Buying 2018 24k miles TTS. cant wait!!!!!
Nice 👌
So you're a Castelli man👍🏻👍🏻Me too😄 and the Mavics are strong wheels sir, that's my choice of weapon 👍🏻And the TT is a great car indeed but those rear seats are for the babies. I'm still getting my head around a diesel S4 for 2020🤨🤨🤨
Love Castelli, both on and off the bike. I've had those wheels for years now but love them. I have yet to drive the S4 oil burner so am trying to keep an open mind 😬
@@PetrolPed I will def keep an open mind. I can see a test-drive coming in near future at Crawley Audi 👍🏻
Love your roadtrips
Cheers 👍
Like you I'm a big Audi fan. Maybe one day I'll get to drive one. Funny the difference between the U.K. and the US. The TT is considered a girls car. Either the coupe or the convertible. Loved the insight thanks
It is over here too...but only by people that haven't driven one ! Each Mk of TT has got better too. The Mk1 was basically a Golf with nice bodywork. This Mk3 is 100% TT and drives like it too 👍
Are those seats standard for the TTS or are they aftermarket? They look absolutely great.
Standard 👍
The Mrs wasn’t hanging about lol.
She never does 😂
Livin the life man
Yep. Very lucky 👍
What is the TT like in the snow ? Have you any past experience in this. I am thinking of getting this car as my daily but sometimes there is snow here in South Lanarkshire 😃😃. Love the review 😃
It’s all about the tyres. Put all season or winters on it 👍
Funny, "...cup holder is too small for a 2 liter bottle and the seat belt slides off my shoulders now and then". Otherwise...perfect!
I have a 2001 TT Quattro 225 and I'd have to say the same thing after 7 years...wouldn't trade it for anything else, way too practical, gets 38 mpg, and it will pull 2 G's on a banked curve in the mountains and not squeal the tires.
I’m literally flying back to the uk next Friday to look for a second hand tts , it will be between a 2012 and 2014 model , I don’t know whether to get the coupe or the roadster, any comments will be appreciated
Which is more important to you. Stowage and rear seats or dropping the roof when the suns out 👍
@@PetrolPed I’m 90% thinking the roadster as I have had two normal tt’s before, not a tts , and I don’t need storage so I think a change, thanks for the advice
Nice review. But I am biased...I have a 2017 TTS and love it! ( had a mk1 and mk2, the mk3 IS the best )
👍
Brilliant review!!
I owned a 2017 TTS for 8 months and adored it for 7 months of that ownership. It then started to rattle badly, so surprised. And I also thought the mag ride even in comfort was pretty poor. So it had to leave the family but was replaced by a Porsche Cayman 718 ! Needless to say I don’t miss it
Sarah Naden Very cool - what options did u get with the 718?
Nothing wrong with the mag ride in the TTS. I owned one for a year - Comfort was the best setting - not just from a ride perspective, but handling too. I tracked it twice and found Dynamic did the turn in no favours and in Comfort, the car felt much more balanced. I did look at a Cayman GTS before ordering my TT RS - what I didn't like was the dated interior, poor practicality and crappy engine sound. Close call though, but the RS I have now is awesome.
great vid again, car is almost as good as your view of Cornwall
Almost 😜😂
Great video - hope there are some pasties down there.
Hell yeah...pasties and fish and chips...but not at the same time 😂😂
Petrol Ped Real chips! Cannot wait to be back in the UK to have real chips, good curry, and a few beers at the right temperature.
Great insight in to the merits of owning the Audi TT S, thanks so much for your review. Keep up the good work.
Now that the new S4 is diesel powered would it be possible to have a comparison between it and your own S4 at some point in the future? Regards & thanks, Eoin
I'm working on it 👍
Good living with vid, as always Pete. Did yours come with the optional comb and scissors holder?
Yes, it's on the lefthand side of the boot 😜😂
@@PetrolPed I knew you'd know the answer 😁
I’m a TTS driver and now I’ve decided to get another one and not a BMW 👍🏻 thanks
First, the schnauzer is adorable:) The car is EXCELLENT, sexy and built EXCELLENT in the two door segment, blows AWAY all the VW golf R etc in LOOKS! Sexiness of a 100,00 car used from 22,000 US:) OUTSTANDING!
Nice video, not too far from St Austell where I'm from, and family from meva. 🤘🤘😎
Great part of the world 👍
