This is exactly how I learned how to impossible when I was in middle school. Learn Pressure flip > 1 foot on the ground impossible > Fast plant impossible > impossible. I haven't skated in 20 years, and I hopped on a board at work and could still do it!
Learned these last night. I'm 46 and I've wanted to do them since I was a teenager, never got around to it. Saw myself doing it perfectly in a dream a few days ago. Dreams can come true folks. If anyone's having difficulty I'd recommend either learning or at least working on pressure flips first to get the idea that your back foot has to push down near the truck and get under the board, then learning impossibles on a really smooth surface. It just didn't seem to work on a rough surface.
@@Nanaminanaminfor real, it’s like your brain and body become one during sleep and if you learn a trick asleep it becomes easier to do awake. As far as I remember, the Impossible was super popular in street skating when the H-Street Hokus Pokus video came out in the nineties. But I also faded away quite quickly again as all kind of flip tricks got more popular.
I do not know how to Impossible at first but I accidentally done it while learning Kickflip Shuv when I missed the flip. Thank you for the great tutorial shifu Jon.
@@syrupyouth kick flip, heel flip, tre flip, bs/fs 180, fs 360, nollie, but the only one similar in any way to an impossible is the tre. Impossibles are weird because the scoop motion is very different from every other normal pop trick
I do them old school where you kind of pressure impossible. You put your back foot in the pocket with toes hanging over and front foot on front corner with just the ball right behind your big toe. Put a lot of pressure and just pop off your front foot and board will wrap itself with just a little scoop. The funny thing is you can do one footed 360 with same setup by rotating your shoulders and following with your body. The rotation prevents the board from wrapping, but it stays with your back foot.
3:40 I also like to have it on the football :P Thank you Jonny, very insightful tutorials as always! Impossibles have been on my dream trick list for the longest time.
Biggest secret I feel is to delay lifting up your leg. People are accustomed to popping motions. Meaning pressing down hard and releasing quickly. But with the impossible you pop the tail but keep it pressed on the ground for a little split second then proceed to do the lifting after scooping in.
