I just found your channel cause I am trying to find ways to get my family rabbit healthy and happy again. I recently rescued her from my parents. My family rabbit has finally given medical attention and a more sanitary home to live in.
Great insight and creativity in addressing the topic. Especially loved the last tip, #15. Rabbit are such complex and intelligent animal. Few realize just how much I'm afraid. The world needs to be educated on rabbits in general. Your video's always provide insights and wisdom that would otherwise go unnoticed. Useful tips any rabbit owner would be happy to come across. thank you.
Thank you so much for your video! There is an 80 percent chance of me getting a mini satin rabbit, and I'm really excited! You have really helpful videos. Thank you!!
I was thinking of trying those indoor cat running wheels for my bun she is still under 2 months old right now but she came home a day before 6 weeks as she bonded with me and my mom instantly and was already weaned from milk fully she came from a farm breeder for pets. she’s gonna be the size of a small dog or a medium sized cat. We have a chihuahua mix that loves her and she’s bonding with and 2 cats also. thought that may be a good enrichment item for the cats also. Also Sally’s parents are both 10-14 pounds. Her dad is a silver fox cross Flemish giant and her mom is a New Zealand cross Rex. Sally is a gorgeous little baby and not fazed or scared of much so when older we will leash train her also. First step is litter box training. My first rabbit was a lop she was almost 10 years old when she passed she loved people and was bonded with cats and dogs but her best friend in the whole wide world was my sisters black lab golden retriever lol they would sleep together on my bed, the dog bed or on the floor. she was raised as a free roam of my room and minimally destroyed anything. Also liked car rides. Rabbits are great pets and thanks for these tips on using behavioural stimuli and positive reinforcement as well since it can combat behavioural destruction. I also find rubber mats under an hutch or play pen helps save carpet and floors from accidents even with box training it happens. rabbits are incredibly smart and learn things like a cat or dog. Also bonding to other animals in the home if introduced properly watched and also reprimanded if needed Is pretty easy also. Only almost 2 weeks into this process she knows her name. Comes when I tap on the floor. Likes pets and attention. Not scared of the dog or cats. Also loves showing off Also starting to know the word no when I snap my fingers and point. I’m saying sally is gonna be broken like a cat. my lop was vary cat like and fully house broken.
Ideally it's best to get a rabbit spayed before they're a year old, but before they're 2 years is pretty normal. The surgery starts to become more dangerous for aging rabbits, so I would definitely get the advice of a veterinarian for rabbit's older than 5 or 6 years, but you've still got some time before you'd have to worry about that.
I don't have enough space 😭(small room and predators every where) And she become lazy because of that. What do I do?II'm totally helpless. Please reply!!!!!!🙏🙏🙏
I have a 9x9 room, and I am trying to open up as much floor space as possible, instead of a dresser, use a clothing rack, and allowing my bunny to at least get a little of my bed space... also you the cat bed idea
i have the same issue i kinda change my whole room so the rabbits would have space, but is kinda difficult everyday make the motivation so they run around more
Guys help me. My rabbit is so lazy I often have to force him to run around he normally never does after he’s been neutered a few months ago he become VERY lazy and chunky (not overweight) any tips to get him running around more
How big should my outside space be for rabbits to play (not sleep) and exercise as I'm having to take them outdoors to play due to my house cats starting to be a little too rough with my bunnies any advice is greatly appreciated
My bunnies have lots of toys, but they like the paper towel and toilet paper rolls the best. I wish that I could leave my bunnies loose in the house all of the time but they attack the cat and dog.
Hey, I urgently need your help! I bought alfalfa hay online for my rabbit, as it's not available anywhere near me, and I received hay in small bit pieces, most of them are short pieces, will my rabbit eat it well and is it okay for them to be in such pieces?
also if your bunny is over 6 months, you really shouldn't be feeding alfalfa besides as a treat unless your rabbit has a medical reason like trouble gaining weight
@@aspirewot8408 Be careful going straight to fresh hay if they have not had before as it can give diarrhoea at first. I went from none, to 1/2 their diet over 2 weeks judging their stools as it went. Also try to get grass from areas where wild rabbits don't go as it reduces the chance of them contracting diseases.
I’d like to let my rabbits out to get more exercise but I can’t without supervising them cuz I’m afraid they’ll eat the carpet and I hear consuming carpet fibers can kill them
if you're talking about moving, take it slow and let your rabbit acclimate to your family first if possible. have your family over and lay on the ground with treats - not too many - to bond with your rabbit. if your family has any other predator animals, you'll probably need an x pen to keep your rabbit in so the other pets don't have a chance to attack the rabbit. get the biggest one you can find/ afford. they have some 8ft x 8ft (16sqft) pens on amazon for about $46 . you'll need to purchase a carrier (or use a lined cardboard box) to transport your rabbit. you'll probably want to rabbit proof to keep your rabbit as safe as possible and keep your stuff intact. protect any cords with flex tubing and any corners with corner guards. they have paint-able ones to blend in or transparent ones. you'll want to keep your rabbit out from under your beds and couches, so you can buy metal closet shelving and attach it underneath. also, i think it's a good idea to put outlet covers in. an idea not commonly talked about in the rabbit community, but i think that taking extra precaution doesn't hurt. when you set up your x pen, you'll probably want to line it with fleece because rabbits don't have paw pads so they can't get traction on tile/hardwood floor. if you have carpet, this may not be an issue unless you rabbit isn't fixed, therefore not fully litter trained. to setup your rabbits litter box, many people prefer a covered litter box designed for cats, because if the litter box isn't covered, when rabbits jump from the litter box they kick litter everywhere. the perk of a covered litter box is that litter will be contained so you won't have to sweep as much. you will need a clay/dust free litter like unscented Feline Pine or some bedding. i think feline pine is more absorbent, but litter alone could cause sore hocks, so use whatever your rabbit seems to prefer. your rabbit will also need enrichment and chew toys. clean tp rolls work great. make sure to use water bowls not bottles. also, you can use a non-hooded litter box if you want to use a hay rack. hay racks are good if your rabbit seems to soil a lot of hay in the litter box. thats mostly it. unless you meant taking them on vacation - i don't recommend that since travel stresses rabbits out - unless they're nearby and they're your sitter, then go ahead :)
bunnies typically live up to 10 years at the most, but some live longer if they are really well taken care of for example, my bunnies are holland lops, and they should live for about 8 or 9 years
I let my potato (bunny name) outside sometimes without supervision. she goes behind the ac, in the bush, behind a bush, in a thick prickly bush, behind the tools storage, under the low palm tree, on the fountain, etc. our bunny lives in a cage because she's only half potty trained.( we let her free roam sometimes. her cage is 2 layered, we made a second layer out of cardboard.
I'm very curious to know how he's doing now, also mine is so sluggish it always gets under the fridge, sofa and bed. I don't know how to treat him, also he is a year older and I adopted him from my mother's friend which later told me that they gave them a daily bath, has it affected them?
After several days and nights at the Specialist, she passed. The first supposed rabbit savvy vet ( on the house rabbit society list) said he never heard of a reaction like that. He also didn’t believe in altering small breed buns. We adopted another lionhead - harlequin mix and have a different vet.
@@Chorkymom i am so sorry to hear that! i had an experience when my old bunny cinnabun hopped from my arms and became concussed so we brought her to the vet and they told us he would be fine but he sadly passed. i can empathize with you.

I freaking love your laugh lol
be careful with re-organizing your furnature, sometimes rabbits are happy with their setup and changing their enviroment can be stressful.

Thanks for this! What kind of dried herbs do you put in the hay?
she has a video on 20 best herbs for medicinal properties, but i use 5 for my rabbit - rosemary, basil, thyme, oregano, and parsley
Oml i made a digging box for my bunny n now she's just spending the entire day in it.. N at night she's running around my entire room

What treats can I give my baby rabbit to train her? And how many can I give her at a time? She’s only about 8 weeks old.

If hay isn't available where you live . Just pluck grass from outside and feed it to them .
@@aspirewot8408 Got it, thanks.
But I have ordered hay as well, she's eating it well, so thankfully the bit pieces aren't bothering her.

how can I keep my rabbit in my relatives house?

pls make a video about how we can protect our rabbits from street cats at home.
Water scare cats so whenever this street cat comes near your bun spray water on her
pun your bunny in a large x pen, you can get and 8ft x 8ft (16sqft) one on amazon for $46 or so if you look hard.

bunnies typically live up to 10 years at the most, but some live longer if they are really well taken care of
for example, my bunnies are holland lops, and they should live for about 8 or 9 years
6 to 13 years

Is milky urine once or twice normal in rabbits?
yup, that's normal. It's a way for rabbits to excrete excess calcium

Can anyone help me with my little lion head who was dosed with kitten flea medicine by accident by a house sitter?
have it drink a lot of water & call vet - should be fine
