      Shy Good boi oh! For one, I recommend getting 2 rabbits, which seems like more work and it kind of is but it helps you out in the long run. When you have one bunny you have to spend a LOT of time with them, considering that they don’t have a friend, but when you have two bunnies they can hangout together, and when your gone for vacation and stuff it will be better since someone is there to play with. With the litter box you will want they a larger cat one, as the litter boxes for bunnies are way to small. And I think you should get 2 litter boxes so you won’t have to clean it out as often, hope this helps! xx

    My new baby came from a place where they didn’t have a litter box but when I came home she immediately started to use her litter box for her pees and I was honestly surprised. She does stil leave poos all over but I’ve been religiously putting them in her box and I noticed there’s less and less all over. She’s been here for only 2 days I’m so proud of her 🥺💞

      Scrambled Egg-Z while it may be good to adopt it is not bad to get from a breeder because they are going to continue to breed whether you get one from them or not. That is what I did because I wanted to bond with a baby.

    • @kaitlyn2321
      @kaitlyn2321 4 роки тому

      Nandita Nirvana it’s not abuse how do you think rabbits get to the shelter. A breeder. If there are no breeders there will be no rabbits so while some breeders are not good others can be very good and give the rabbits good space that may be your opinion my opinion is clear and you can’t tell me that it’s abuse because it’s not especially done right/nicely. Adopt=great. Breeder= also great. I love having my baby and I am getting him fixed in a few months so it’s not like he’s bad

    • @sabrinasantaguida3299
      @sabrinasantaguida3299 4 роки тому +6

      Kaitlyn ya, an ethical breeder is a viable option. However adopting is much better. If you give money to a breeder, you’re supporting their business of breeding animals which leads to more animals ending up in the shelter, and more getting euthanize. Why keep breeding when so many sweet animals need homes already?

    My oldest rabbit, that i got at 6 weeks, he litter trained himself within aboit a week. He was in a 2-3 ft dog crate with a hay rack above the litter box that couldn't be reached from outside the box. The litter hox took up half the pen. At 2 and a half months i upgraded him to a 4-4ft pen. I tried introducing carpet and soft beds but he just soaked them in pee, i took them away. I feed him science select young rabbit pellets and alfalfa hay.
    I had him fixed at 4 months. He has only had a accidents like peeing over the edge since.
    3-4 months ago i got a rabbit that had issues. He was 3 and a half months old. He didn't have alot of hair. His back and belly had the most. His hands and legs and ears have no hair. His hair is very thin, like its only an overcoat with no undercoat. He also has a heart murmur.
    I started him out in my bathroom. Its probably 32-48 square feet. He had a few accidents and was a poop machine. He was 2 and a half pounds amd pooped about 3 cups of poops.
    After 2 weeks i put him in my livingroom with my other older rabbit. He mainly peed in his box but sometimes would pee in a corner. His poops have only recently started evening out and he tends to use his litter box more for his poops. He shows no inclination to have hormonal displays even though his testicles have dropped. He has yet to hump his stuffed animals, or spray.
    Due to his health issues i cannot have him fixed. We are still running blood work and it appears he has something along the lines of thyroid issues. Hopefully me and my vet can determine what the issue is and help him grow hair and be his best self.

    My bunnies were largely litter trained from the start. I've had them for 6 weeks now, and the poop accidents hardly occur anymore. They're also a lot better at hopping in and out and not tracking hay everywhere bc they're bigger now :p the only thing is that they're now big enough to jump on the couch and bed.. I have a studio apartment so I can't put them in a separate room. When they're on the couch or bed they will pee :( I don't know how to stop them because they do know where to do their business and don't actively do it anywhere else.

    Hopefully getting sibling buns soon so this was definitely helpful for me. Ive only ever had outside rabbits before, which obviously didnt need much work so now that Im hopefully going to have two inside buns it will be much different. They’ll have an old closet that I dont use, its 4x11 which is useless for me other than a storage room so I figured this would be perfect!

    My bunny refuses to pee or poop in her corners, she will literally go to the center of her room to pee and poop. This was before we got her trained

    This was really helpful, i just got a giant long ear baby, but he took a few bites out of my baseboard and it made him a little sick to his stomach. I covered the baseboard with a large plastic tarp under the bed so he can't try and eat it anymore. Poor guy and he was having a lot of accidents today this really was a wonderful presentation. Thank you!

    Excellent tip on the large storage tote rather than a standard cat litter box! I’m going to share this with my rabbit group!
    I first tried Carefresh and loved it, but it got all over my angora rabbit, including IN her wool. Plus she would get it everywhere. It was just too messy. I switched to equine pine pellet bedding and it works well.

      Mine is 5 yrs old too but I had to neuter her because She developed a tumor inside her uterus so be careful with that female bunnies have high rates of uterus tumors, over than 80%. :c

    I’m a new bunny mom 😊❤️ . He’s a 9 weeks old male lionhead. He has already familiarized himself with and uses the litter box which is setup with hay piled high in one half and litter in the other half because I heard that bunnies tend to poop while they eat. The problem is he eats his pellets from his dish that is outside of the litter box and poops everywhere. To me it’s easy to clean up but at what age and how did you train your bunny to only poop in the litter box? Thanks for the great video & tips! Very helpful!

    This has put my mind at rest at least for now. I have baby bunnies who are too young to be neutered and it seems impossible to train them at the moment. Hopefully in the next few months things will become easier.. and cleaner. Lol.
