I’ve learnt that when thymocytes bind too strongly to thymic epithelium they too are destroyed. Could you explain what’s going on in this case?

I didn't understand something: after somatical recombination, how can they go through it again in the alpha chain gene? Shouldn't the other gene segments be lost after RAGs activity?
