Schools are not what they used to be for a long time.
Management pretend they are paying teacher a teacher salary, and teacher pretend they are teaching what should be taught.
Parent just pay pay and pay.😂

I still cannot get this as a college Boy. Despite being at a Good school throughout my schooling years I still cannot Compile it, although the benefit and time ratio is very less but Schools are best for Getting yourself in track and Making social skills communication skills and Other skills that you Cannot get anywhere else. School is a must upto 10th class ,because it will help the child or student become smart and becomeFully functional human being. Not everyone with homeschooling will Reach MIT or even IIT.

No, homeschooling is the best way to develop social skills. Most of the school kids I interact with have impaired social skills

lol bro, most of the kids at school rather than focusing on studies or ECs, just spend all the time in having fun and 'socialising'. Also, if he wasn't good at communicating, he would have obviously flunked both his TOEFL/IELTS and interview for MIT but I suppose that he was far better than the average indian kid when communicating especially in 'English' and that's why only he was able to qualify both of these obstacles. I think that it highly depends on the child that what they want to do in their life and accordingly they should be prepared. Some would just be better off going to school while others home schooled. Also another big advantage of being homeschooled is that one can learn the subjects they want the the education is very flexible unlike the compulsory and limited subjects taught in schools. Also, schools divide the streams where student of one stream can't study the subject from the other stream (happened to me and happens at most schools) like I can't study CS with history or Physics with sociology.

    • @thelazybot231

Probably a lot more than indian kids who are just focused on academics coz MIT is the best global institute competing with harvard on equal terms and there you won't just get admission with exceptional academics but you need to have various other achievements that show that you are a leader, a creative thinker, and someone who will provide value to the society. Students who get admission into MIT, Stanford, ivy league Unis usually have a profile consisting of things like national/international level ranker in olympiads, debates, sports or some other
activity.....validictorian/topper....played significant part in some sort of startup or NGO or at least worked at them.....received recognizable awards etc......so even a student who AIR 1 in JEE Advanced probably won't get into MIT or top ivy league Unis.
