It’s finally here, the Spider-Man Video Essay to end all Spider-Man videos. The Spider-Man Series that will be the final HiTop Films Spider-Man video. This is Part 1 of the

I completely disagree, these movies have aged incredibly well for me. They can be cheesy at times but if done right cheesy works and it works very well with these movies. They are full of heart, character development amazing action scenes and music. Raimis directing is spectacular.
I wish there was a time machine so I could watch this trilogy on theaters.

I watched all 3 as well as Nolan’s Batman trilogy as a child. 2 experiences I’ll never forget. I still rewatch these movies every year, or just whenever I can. Dear lord, they’re so good

I watched the first two at cinema back then, some of my greatest memories.
One of the reasons I prefer the first one to the second, is the the experience of seeing it in theatres as a kid for the first time.
Also, one of my favorite dialogues from Spider-Man 1... It's smart, funny, and moving.
MJ noticing Peter as a good person, maybe for the first time... "You know... you're taller than you look."
Peter: "I hunch."
MJ: "Don't."
I was saying that to someone else, but instead I said I love how MJ shows Peter she wants him to be himself around her.
the OG spiderman trilogy has these beautiful moments of genuine, hearfelt connection and conversations or literally subtle ass eye glances or movements that many superhero films lack. this is the reason why the RAIMI movies have stayed consistently relevant against the passage of time and will continue to do so

The craziest thing is the impact it’s had on a generation. Spider-Man was my hero, I adored this movie, I watched it every single day and jumped off the couch web swinging. And then I’ve started meeting people and lines from these movies where inside jokes but I can tell they had similar experiences as kids. Time for a trilogy rewatch!

AGREED. There was definitely sexism in the damsel in distress trope, and we cannot forgive that and must ridicule it, but i also feel as if the vitriol against MJ in this entire trilogy also stems from some sexism. Like so many people just do NOT empathise with MJ at all because she has her own flaws with traumatic and abusive relationships from many men in her life.
@@aryan7767 If you think about it, the fact that Mary Jane came from a broken home means she had the potential to become a villain. If Sam Raimi did his version of Carnage, Cletus Kasady could have been a dark reflection of Mary Jane: a redhead who came from a dysfunctional family, has daddy issues, and struggles with love. However since Mary Jane had Peter as her best friend, inspiring her to be herself she did not become a sadistic sociopathic murderer like Cletus Kasady. Kasady would have been what Mary Jane could become if she didn't have Peter in her life just as Eddie Brock was a dark reflection of Peter if he didn't have the moral upbringing of Aunt May and Uncle Ben. Peter was the only person who made her feel like herself but imagine if she didn't have him in her life. Raimi could have made a whole movie where Peter breaks up with MJ and then we would see what happens to her as a result. She would lose her sanity and go so far as to murder her own dad just like how Kasady killed his grandmother. Remember in Spiderman 1 when Aunt May was in the hospital with Peter and told him about the first time he saw MJ at age 6 he asked Aunt May "Is that an angel?". This quote could have been brought full circle by having Cletus Kasady be the devil to Mary Jane's angel.

(Also, in SM3, MJ wasn't supposed to be the damsel again, Gwen would have been. But Bryce was pregnant with her and Seth Gable's son.)
yeah what i meant to say is that MJ was definitely a flawed person but the hatred agaisnt her is so hilarious. peter was an awful partner to her in part 3, and was either completely absent and weirldy shifting between rejecting her and clingy towards her right when shes getting married. it was a complex relationship @@mottom2657

He and GodzillaMendoza should form a club of UA-camrs claiming to not be Spider-Man channels. Have it be their own little Spider-Verse. Actually, why not do something like Nando v Movies’ One Marvelous Scene, where various UA-camrs take a look at Spider-Man movies, or even pieces of Spidey media, and do videos on them. Call it “Into the Spider-Verse”. I’d be down for that.
Edit: Actually, that would cause confusion with the title, but you get the idea. Maybe, instead, call it “A Look Into The Spider-Verse”?

Facts I always laugh at the “here’s your change” scene idk why and he talks shit still at doc oc when he says “you are really annoying” and Peter says “I have a nack for that” even after he is trapped he is still shit talking that’s one of the things I like raimis he quips or talks shit but not every time or at serious moments people says Tom Holland quips and stuff but sometimes he just talking for the sake of talking like in civil war when he says the empire strikes backs he isn’t saying something funny or clever he is just saying what everyone knows that knows about pop culture which is kind of annoying to me just talking for the sake of talking instead of the writer being clever and give him times to joke one of the things that garfields Spider-Man nailed like the sparkles jokes or when he says his name and stuff like that he isn’t just talking he saying jokes and shit talking to villains

The funny thing is the opposite of nostalgia is recency bias, which we could easily use that excuse for why MCU fanboys think Tom is the best Spider-Man. Also the fact that most Tom fanboys didn’t even watch TAS so you know damn well they didn’t watch the Raimi trilogy. I have many reasons why I think raimis trilogy is the best and not one of those reasons has to do with nostalgia.

I LOVE the original three/two because they felt grounded, it made you feel like you could be Spiderman, like this guy called Peter Parker is actually out there. No space travel, no magical stones, no multimillionaire mentor. Just a guy doing heroics by himself...I miss this SpiderMan so much. I would pay all the money in the world to have Sam Raimi write and direct his fourth SpiderMan movie and close out the story, give it the send off that he wanted...Damn you Sony.

I was always a fan Spider-Man when I was kid. Comic books, toys, had the cartoon on Saturday mornings. When I first read in a magazine about the movie (yeah not internet or phone) I lost my mind. I’d never seen a single trailer for it, only the tv spot commercials. Once I finally seen the movie in theaters it was an amazing experience and my spider-nerd inside laughed, cried, and screamed of happiness. The Sam Raimi Spider-Man will always be a favorite of mine and I look forward to sharing this movie with my son when he gets a little older. Thank you for bringing back my younger spider-nerd. “Who am I, I’m a Spider-Man fan!!!
I don't know if this man intends to become a director or not, but HiTop my friend, I can't wait to see your name in the credits of a film as genre-defining, inspiring and truly masterful as this one.
Because of the cinematography by Don Burgess and especially Bill Pope and because the actors give such nuanced performances, a lot of scenes in this movie work really well even without sound. That's the mark of a great movie in my opinion. It's like the Pixar films or Chuck Jones cartoons.

I love spiderman because he's just an average dude that needs to pay rent, taxes, needs to have a job and a relationship. I think that most people resonate with spiderman because he's something of a metaphor for the average joe, peter parker is us in our work/public lives and spiderman is us in our free time where we can put on a metaphorical mask and be, do, make and act however we want and it really feels (warning another metaphor coming up) like we're able to show our true colours as individuals for example most people at work or at a public event so on so forth dress and act like peter parker: dorky, shy, weak, formal, etc. etc. being a desirable but fake version of ourselves. however that all changes when we get to be ourselves i.e spiderman we dress and act like we want to in our work and public lives, we act like no one knows us or cares and it's so liberating to be able to express our individuality without being put under a microscope, like the way peter feels when he's spiderman.

The first two movies in this trilogy are two of my favorite movies I’ve seen. They achieve a level of fun energy and comic book campiness without sacrificing poignancy emotion.
I'm gonna be honest, before I watched this, I thought the Raimi movies were pretty overrated. But looking back and especially after watching these videos, I understand just why people love these movies, and I respect them a lot more now.
Mary Jane in the first two movies alone has more character development than any of the female characters in the mcu - change my mind.

I wasn't even born when the trilogy came out but when I first watched it I loved it! I think I was like 4 when I watched the first one and it's been my favourite spiderman movie of all time
