My brother buys this certain plastic epoxy that he puts in the stripped plastic whole, then he puts PAM cooking spray on the screw and lets the epoxy dry (2-3 days) then he backs the screw out and BOOM! Said hole has threads again👍🏼

Am i crazy or did you forget the little set screw that holds the drive shaft to the center diff ? I didnt see you put in back in...
Have you tried putting 2 tires on the table then when you turn the truck over rest the shock towers on the tires ? Maybe it will clear that center post and you can leave it on
I do this. and it works. I also have stand with an ironic cut out that fits perfectly
Great stuff Guy, those pinions and spurs are beefy for sure. They remind me of the heavy duty ones i had to buy for the Xmaxx when the stock ones stripped (what a POS). This video was crucial for people who are considering purchasing this RC, thanks bro.

I just got one a week ago, its still in the box because of the "rc patience" my pockets have helped my brain develop..lol I guess I've been waiting on your breakdown, you're so thorough, the best on tube.
You was certainly right to take it apart. I also watched thunders reviews while I was waiting on mine to come in and soon as it came in I took ALL the diffs out and they literally have nothin in them. Went with 20m in the center, 1m in the front and 200k in the rear. Also very pissed about the battery trays because you can’t get a battery to fit in unless it’s like a 3500mah. But most importantly is the motor mount and pinion gear cover. I had to make a cover just to go up in pinion size and believe me, it needs a way bigger pinion
I wonder if the bigger pins that hold the center body support sections of the Arrma 6s or 8s Kraton/Outcast would work going straight through on the center body support of the Redcat?
Very good review. In depth, nice tune-ups ya did, and a nice understanding now of how this beast is put together. One of the longest 2 part unboxing videos I've ever seen, and I say that as a good thing, because if you're as involved in the hobby as much as I am, and obviously you are, this is the chiltrons manual to the vigilante. I guess we not opening front rear diff 😂 , I don’t blame you it’s a lot work but we know it needs more and thicker , and yes it will actually last longer just being wet” no excess resistance causing heat and wear tear . Besides bean counting I think it’s reason these company’s only use a little 5k or 10k and 100 k in the center . Traxxas can put 20m not worry about knuckle heads because of the Cush drive .

I never think of cost when i want an RC. Lol. I like my large scale stuff. Just prefer Losis large scale over something like an Arrma or Traxxas. That Redcat tbh is about as much a 1/5 scale as the Arrma Outcast and Kraton 8s models are. They are 1/6th scale all day. When i compare the Losi 5ive T parts to the Outcast 8s parts, the Outcast bits look more like 1/8 scale.
Btw, there isnt only 4 screws holding the real module to the rc if you include the diff plate. 😜
The worst is when the screw strips and you have to drill it out. I did watch Thunder's skatepark bash and he uses the max6 in the xmaxx so maybe it won't overheat like I thought. There are two things I noticed with the Redcat open diffs. It is easier to get it to backflip and easier to drive up vertical surfaces with more front wheel power. I think it would drive well with 500k or 1m weight. Working on an RC without the manual is the Adam Savage way to do things. 👍
Heck with all that, go send that thing to the moon . Thunder just took that thing to the skatepark and it was awesome.
It looks like a fun truck . You might want to gear up a little bit, but you won't know until you run it a few times. 😂👍🤙💯

Those little robots are called Vector. He hasa whole video, actually a couple if i remember correctly about them specifically. At one point the company was going out of business and he was kind of worried they would stop functioning. I dont know what ever happened on that topic as i didnt follow up on that.

I ended up stripping my center diff twice so i locked it and i must say it's way better now

You get to center diff from the bottom.
You would think, at least for screws that are important for holding the vehicle together, they could countersink some threaded nuts into the plastic so that you can't strip screws like that.

My Center diff exploded
This is almost half what an ultimate Xmaxx or XRT cost and a Grom cheaper than an 8s Arrma. All things considered I think it's a smoking deal. I was surprised it was this cheap. That company with a more X's than most adult sites charge nearly this much for their 6s line up. For that matter my SCX6 and SBR 2.0 both cost more. I can't think of a 8s 5th scale this cheap sold anywhere. Heck, there's folks with $800 in mini crawlers. I was really impressed by mine on its first real bash today. It definitely handles and lands better than my Xmaxx.
The fluid will turn pretty liquidy. Ear plugs are not 20M diff fluid. I feel like it will act like how it acted with ur kraton v5. The earplugs gets disolved or something. We will see on the test run if it diffs out a lot or not

My wife bought a new Palisade Calligraphy, confirmed diffs had fluid so I just put it in sport mode and ripped it...
😂 I put those ear plugs in my typhon all the time. Then again, I like doing things differently and experimenting.
RTR back to the store. all jokes aside, i just assume nothing these days is assembled correctly except for my Samsung phone. which also had to be returned due to production errors and the phone being DOA.
Just knowing they use power tools for assembling these cars, and drivetrain binding costs battery and heats up electronics was the key for me. Don't need any more motivation than that. Now the first thing i do is take everything apart

Couldn’t kill it on 6s has same diffs as this , that trucks alright in my book , he may have killed it at skatepark but you can do that with any plastic chassis

In my opinion guy, you have more knowledge and have been in the hobby a lt longer than ive been in it for, but this truck looking at the price is over priced for being a red cat. That's just my honest opinion.
This seems priced well compared to the traxxas stuff. You get real electronics in this. My Xmaxx Ultimate came with a speak & spell ESC.
