So Beautiful , just cannot find appropriate and befitting words to describe the serene feeling inside me whenever I listen to this wonderful piece of art.
Muy simpatico. I hear sounds of gospel & Americana, but I imagine any listener in the world finds something in this piece that connects them in a deep way to their motherland.
I firstheard this song 1978 during a tour through Norway. It was phantastic to listen to it while touring through the wonderfull nature of this country.
Well done. This is by far my favorite Jarrett song. Mafred Eicher was the music director for an excellent film titled "mostly martha" The closing scene, among the most beautiful in the movie, is set against this song.
You might not know this, but one has to practice the sax hard for many years to make it sound this easy. It's a parallel to the old Hollywood expression that, "Once you can fake sincerity, you've got it made."
He nearly copied it note for note.... in the middle section (3rd 16) he puts an extra note(C (sax)) at the the start of bar 9 instead of a whole note rest. But he's got a great tone and has been practising the altissimo A's etc !! You'll find the lead sheet for 'Country' and other Jarrett stuff if you Google Simon Savary.
Me and some friends of mine recorded this song in the studio at our school, and to be onest our version is better. I played a sax-solo over the place were the bass-solo was insted, and the piano-player played the same ass Keith is doing in his solo. The bass-solo here was great, but the piano-solo was not. Either you play like Keith is doing, or you don't play at all....
Nobody likes show offs. There is no better in music. It's all about taste. You can like your version better. But that doesn't make it better. You've got a lot to learn, as you speak about music.
I for myself find that piano solo quite tasteful. It is a live situation. They've not got multiple takes like you in the studio. Repetition is not hard. Expressing your own thoughts is. I read a story in the pianists playing. So please be nice and appreciate a fellow musican. We can grow together by listening to each other's renditions. Keep Trumpism out of music please.
nice, excellent......except it sounds just like keith.....what's the point. how come you didn't do anything new.? cudos.....baseplayer. wow. He stepped up to the plate. This reminds me of a guitarist covering a Stevie ray vaughn tune......where's your chops, wheres' your substitute chords, wheress your creativity. why not just do santana.....
that DB solo was nuts
Bravissimi tutti. Celio Barros stratosferico!!!

Wonderful! These are classy musicians! Very well done

On the record "My Song" the bass is played by the swedish Palle Danielsson..:)
Who is the bass player ??? He is amazing!!
Like a young Niels Henning Orsted Pedersen!!
Wow
Does anyone have piano sheet music for this tune ?
bravissimo il contrabbassista :o
Great cover, however this is not Keith Jarrett, the title is misleading
Who’s the original?

Good performance!! Just you have "his" nice sprits!!
He nearly copied it note for note.... in the middle section (3rd 16) he puts an extra note(C (sax)) at the the start of bar 9 instead of a whole note rest.
