He explained that as the ambergris floats through the open ocean for years, even decades, there are natural processes that remove the actual feces. Aside from the beak that may or may not be inside it still (pieces of ambergris breaking off the main lump may not carry the bits in it and could just be wax and crap) there should just be the waxy stuff that wasn't washed away or dissolved.

It's a complex chemical process that turns ambergris from a mass in a whale's ass (not just shit) into what it is when we use it, just like it's a complex chemical process that turns worm shit in the dirt in your garden into a delicious ripe tomato.

Right! Ambergris, let do it.
Take your bowl of squid beaks and gently marinate them with the intestinal wax and the fecal matter. Once that's done just lightly season with parasitic worms and place back in the bowl. Now there's nothing wrong with store-bought, canned parasitic worms, but if you really want to bring out that WOW factor try and get them fresh. Next we want to get some cloth paper and just place the mixture in the centre and begin wrapping it from the sides until you have a nice, round ball, and just compress that until it's nice and firm.
Now, the way they used to do this was to throw it into the ocean for a decade or so, but today we're going to be using 4 cups of salt water and a pressure cooker. Just place the wrapped ambergris in along with the water and set that on 120C for 5 hours. Delicious.
