Wow I could have used that video a few weeks earlier. I managed to fit it in the DRZ and it worked fairly well, the problem was that mine from aliexpress had no choke and the not fitting rubber intake made me completely change it back to a mikuni tm36 I had in it earlier. But I still have all the parts and if my carb should break down or something I will definetly try to refit the fcr with your parts. Very nicely explained and really nice parts.
The red adapter that comes with the carb does, yes. But the adapter you can buy (link in description) gives them tunnels that go into the airbox so they get air that is filtered
Thanks for the instructions! Reliability ? On 32:32 the air intake adapter is already cracked at the screw and it looks like there is a small gap between the carb and adapter....?
There is an O-Ring Gasket between adapter and carb. Yes this early version of the adapter developed a little crack, the one being sold has a different geometry where this tab is reinforced.
I wish I've seen this video earlier. I bought exact same carb although didn't get any adaptors but just trimmed off the red thing and flipped the original rubber boot and forced into the carb) Worked pretty well but I couldn't figure out the jetting as original FCR's mentions 155-160 main and 45 pilot but it was way too rich for me. Looking at your jetting I see that indeed it was too rich. Anyways it lasted not that long until the throttle plate rollers became loose and started wearing the insides of carb which made the throttle to stuck. I got enough of that carb and bought cvk 40 which is not that good as FCR but still better than stock. Now I just bought original FCR 39 from 2015 Beta with all DRZ adaptors for 300$. Got extremely lucky. But yet to install it
yes the DRZ / FCR39 Jetting you find online is for the E model DRZ. Which has a different exhaust header, different cams, different compression because of a thinner base gasket and the 3x3 airbox opening. It is therefor much too rich. Also worth noting for you installation is that the diameter of the E Model Airbox where it connects to the carb is different than that of the S/SM Airbox. Its smaller if i remember correctly. Thats why the OEM FCR39 Adapter for the E Model (you can get from suzuki) is not a good fit for the S/SM. Good Luck!
I have 3x3, full yoshi exhaust with a baffle, and fcr39 clone. I set up my carb the same as ypurs, and im getting mid throttle cutting out and stalling. It then takes 10 seconds to restart it. I figured your setup was my best bet since you used an air/fuel meter. Do you have any advice? Also, I have a vacuum line hooked to the intake port of the engine from the petcock. Thanks.
Did you manage to solve it? I'd check the float height first, sounds like it's getting no fuel. You might need a bigger Main Jet and/or raise the needle one clip.
at 5:17 you can see two holes above the adapter on the airbox side. the lower one is plugged off, the upper one is for venting as far as i understand it. you can get some further oem parts to connect hoses to it, but it's not needed i think.
is the FCR41 a common upgrade to the DR650? Didn't it come with an FCR? Might be interesting to make adapters that make it a perfect fit also for the DR650
@thisisnotharrypotter fcr41 is not a common upgrade but the tm40 and fcr39 mx are common upgrade. I found out you can 3dprint the fcr41 intake boot from a xr400 and it will work
Hi mate ive got the E model so its got the airbox with the bigger hole. Its stock fcr but its driving me crazy . Do you think this will work for me and can i use the oem fcr throttle cabble bracket? Im interested , can you send me a link of what i need to put that on a 400E cheers
Hey mate, send me a message on eBay with a picture of the carb you have so I can see what adapters you can keep. You probably only need the Aluminium engine side adapter for the replica FCR. The eBay link is in this videos description
Great video 👍🏻 these other guys don’t explain enough
Thank you!

Thank you! it was a lot of work to figure everything out so I thought why not share it.
If you need any help in the future just send a message!
Nice work. I ordered the carb also, now looking for a 3d print file for the airbox horn.
Awesome video! I am confused about the two jets up by the intake. Do they allow unfiltered air in?
The red adapter that comes with the carb does, yes. But the adapter you can buy (link in description) gives them tunnels that go into the airbox so they get air that is filtered
Sweet! I’ll take a look
I checked the eBay listing for your adapter, very clean piece. Do you suppose it would work for a fcr41?
I’m not sure but it might fit. Send me a message on eBay we’ll figure it out 👍
Nice German Akzent 😜
Kannst du die Klone empfehlen? Habe eine EXC 520 BJ 2002.

Good work, have you ever have any problem with the carb since you got it ?
No, none!

ur DRZ is a Beauty
Thank you!

9:46 What screw and nut goes there? Do you have a link to them? Do you also have to buy fuel lines?
See the links in the description of the video to eBay

I got this carb (the 41mm version) to work on a dr650. But i notice there's no venting hose. What's up with that? How is the carb being vented?🤔

Where did you get the float height data? I can't locate it anywhere.
there is a manual specifically for the DRZ E Model where you can find the float height (9mm +/- 1) for the carb on page 4-5.

Question… replica works same as the Original??
yes its a perfect copy of the original
Are the adapter available still?
will be again soon
Can you make a kit to run on a Polaris 500
the airbox side i can adapt for basically any atv/motorcycle model if there is demand for it. send me a mail at mototechmandi@gmail.com
I need link for that intake adapter
hello adam, you can find it in the description!
I want to buy from your eBay store but it’s all in German. I live in the USA.
I have just updated the links in the description so they appear in english. Feel free to order from the US.
