Dear Nora, I need to apologize and walk back my IG comment about making pattern modifications. I admire your fearlessness and joy in your knitting. The way you jump into a pattern without hesitation is wonderful. So many of us let our fear of failure stop us. I love the way you just figure it out and end up with a beautiful make! You are inspiring!
🥰 thank you so so much! The number one reason I started this channel was to help encourage other knitters to try new things! You’re making me tear up. I am really proud to have stuck to my message and that my tenacity in this craft is rubbing off on others. I really, truly appreciate you saying that! Thank you! 🥰🥹
The puffer vest is my favorite! I hope you make it so we get updates...the climate i live in is way too hot for something like that, so i will live vicariously if you do decide to make it. If you are a vest person, the yarn combo for the puffer vest also made me think of Irene Lin's vest patterns, she has the Mellow Vest and the Fluffy Border Vest, and I feel like that yarn combo could work well for an all cream version of either of those patterns, with the boucle as the 'fluffy' element, if you do end up with leftover yarn; if you're not a vest person, ignore me lol
The Square Tee by Aarohi is a good t-shirt option. I knit it last year from Drops Belle (linen, cotton, viscose). I'm a 130cm bust and the shoulder fit great.
I thought of a couple Ozetta design for basic tee recommendations: Harvest Tee, Air Tee, or Lakes Tee. Miles tee is cute as well, but maybe more detail than you’re looking for in a basic tee.
the fabric from @23:56 looks incredibly similar to how wolf spider fur looks to me, at least specifically Alopecosa accentuata, which is a compliment! I really like the way that turned out!!
Im loving your plans and how you're getting through your stash before buying more. I wanted to make s couple of suggestions for the colour work jumpers from a Spanish designer who lives in England and her English instructions are really good. Her name is Belen Fernandez and she is Tejer en Inglés on Ravelry. She has a sweater called Oles and one called Fitu which use that amount of colours. She has really nice designs and her instructions are really good but I've never seen an English speaker podcast talk about her. As for the Inge sweater - I think you're supposed to say it Inga. I'm not buying any yarn till I've used my stash either 😊
@mnoeliarc thank you so much for suggesting this designer Belen. I took a look at her ravelry page. Her designs are so cozy & laid-back. They have a simple elegance to them that I find appealing. Thank you thank you thank you! Take care, Anna
Nora, so proud of you. To knit seven items in one season, it's so impressive! Love that you are being mindful about how you want to spend your knitting time. I can so picture you in that Texo sweater. The golden years skirt looks cool. I'm a big fan of diamond motifs, so that Inge sweater looks intriguing. I love Kutovakika (Veronika) & her patterns; I'd be fascinated to witness your experience with knitting a pattern of hers. Thanks for the video. Take care, Anna
Great minds think alike?! I had already started my own Stash Bust Spring with similar thoughts (mainly being OK with buying yarn in order to finish a project with stash yarn.) I have soooooo much yarn to work through, and it feels good to use it up.
You know its not the most popular opinion of how to go about being a maker these days but i whole heartedly embrace having a thoughtful currated stash and then discovering the perfect way to use my materials. I love the challenge of finding the perfect pairing for what i already have and letting it tell me what it wants to become. I rarely buy yarn with a set purpose already unless its for a gift with a specific request . I also love the challenge of using all off what i have in my stash even the ugly old stuff and scraps. I certainly wouldnt encourage reckless and thoughtless and purposeless stash accumulation, but i am always most satisfied with a project when i begin with the yarn and let it take me to a finished object that i may or may not be completely surprised by.
Oh Nora, you keep giving me ideas 😂 no i want to knit a vest that can function as a camisole in the summer months, and that puffer vest! OH MY LORD! but i have some suggestions on designers for you, some nordic designers actually. For those simple, basic knits with nice details and good fit - check out Witre design, for your long skirt nordic maxi skirt or the classic zipper skirt For those lacy, classical ones - check out knit by Jacobsen, My favourite things knitwear and Knitting for Olive Good luck finding the perfect pattern, i look forward to seeing what you knit next!
Stash bust trick that works for me: If I have a large quantity of a yarn (such as your "hot dog" yarn) I use it as a "stash bust helper." Have you seen those blankets that are constructed with triangles. They usually have one color for one side of the triangle and then an assortment of colors for the other side. Looks like a quilt work knit blanket. I use the stash bust helper as the main and then as I finish other projects I make a triangle/square. Anything too small gets balled up and goes into a large Mason jar lamp that I knit next to. Also wanted to say I love your animations and editing. Thanks for all the work you put into this podcast.
That’s such a great idea! I do love the look of those blankets! Thank you so much for the compliment! I really enjoy all the aspects of the podcasting thing 🥰☺️
A few options to consider: Thelma Top by Le Pull Ranne Vest by Irene Lin Vestive by Annestrick I haven't knit any of them yet, but they're all saved on my favorites for possible future knits.
Yay!!!!!!!I bought the Texo almost instantly when it came out! KAL?? I have knit a few Zanete patterns, and absolutely love them! Love the idea of a stash bust, and definitely have a lot to knit through.
Lots of fun plans-I suggest you start with the first few that most excite and reassess as you go further into the stash-busting. At some point, priorities change (for me), and I always go with what’s current rather than prior decisions. 🤷🏼♀️
Idea for the flesh colored yarn - make a small swatch and see if you can dye it. That way it can open up more options for you. The skirt pattern would still be very lovely though.
Am I the only one who constantly finds themself singing along to the jingle?😄 So catchy! I must say I adore your editing style in general and am just blown away by the effort you put in your videos, you're such a pro! I think the Inge Sweater is STUNNING, but as somebody already said here, a colourwork sweater might still be too warm for spring. But then again, I am currently knitting one myself and am (desperately?) hoping to get some wear out of it before the summer, so I dunno, haha! Would also definitely be interested in a kal to get some spring knitting from stash done, so I say go for it 💫
Hahaha I’m certainly with you on that one 😂 thank you so much for noticing! I definitely think the Inge would be too warm to wear in the Spring, but I love the idea of having it waiting for me in the fall!!
Great job ! Wish you all the best of luck with your projects. Two things I sprinkle in are stash busting gift knits , I do one a month during the spring/summer and also add 30 mins a day crocheting or knitting an acrylic stashy blanket. That way I get a blanket every year. I do the 10 stitch blanket pattern. Free one.
I'm doing a similar stash bust ! yay ! this was exactly the encouragement I needed to stick with it:) Genius to put the linen and bamboo together to create a fabric that works for you:) That's what I love about stash busting is the opportunity to get creative with what I already have Everything you chose looks incredible, and I think they'll all really suit you:) excited to join you in this stash bust this spring and see all you make
Yayyy!!! I’m so glad you’re in this too! I really love creating some boundaries once in a while and seeing what kind of magic can come of it! Thank you so so much!!! 🥰
I love your cashmerino yarn vest project. I was thinking that the designer may have a suggestion on how to knit from top down. Also you could buy a contrast yarn add to ribbing making it look as though you had intended it to be two colors. I so enjoy your podcasts so much. I shared your podcast as a must watch to ur knitting guild. Thanks Nora!❤❤❤
I never even thought to check! Thank you for the idea! I also love the idea of having contrast rather than trying to pretend they're the same lol. That is so cool--thank you so so much for sharing! 🥰
This is Aunt Laurie. I vote for the v-neck floaty tank. It will be perfect with that yarn combo. It can rven be dressed up with big earrings and a metallic high heel sandal.
I love your presentation style. The thought you put into this video is so inspiring. I enjoy listening to your thought processes. Thank you for great content. I am currently knitting a summer tank out of a cotton bamboo blend. I hope to enjoy it as the weather warms up.
Hi Nora! Omg such a great idea! I have a lot of stash yarn. A lot of it has been given to me by friends/ family that were downsizing their own stash, but the amount that has accumulated is honestly feeling a bit overwhelming. This idea of organizing some spring / summer projects for stash busting is fabulous!! I'm so in if you do a stash busting along . Thank you again for your vidios, I really enjoy sitting and knitting with you ( watching you videos 😊😉)
I recommend the Me Oh My Tee by Park Williams for your t-shirt pattern! It’s plain stockinette but with a set-in sleeve look instead of a raglan. I knit a folded hem instead of a rolled hem at the bottom but other than that I don’t think I made any modifications and it’s super cute!
I'm completely in love with the Cobalt blue cone!!!🎉 💙 Looking at your Ravelry page, several of your projects are missing pictures. 😢 I'm really appreciating your point of view on patterns for those of us of similar measurements. 😊
I would be so invested in your Inge sweater - such an interesting project! I'm also working on a stash-busting spring and summer so its nice to see others are doing the same 😊 Edited to add - as soon as you showed those autumnal colours, I thought they'd be perfect for stripe hype!
Yessss this is exactly what I need to do this spring!! I enjoy having a stash but I don’t like when yarn stays for years while I keep buying newer stuff because I feel like I get bored of seeing the older yarn and keep wanting new things. So a bit of spring cleaning, knitting up stash yarn to make room for inspiration is perfect! I’m in!!!
Love the A-line shape Christoffers tee for your combo yarns. The drape will be nice if you knit at a fairly open gauge and that will also stretch your yarns.
Hi Nora~ I just left a comment on your last podcast and I have an update for you. About the Irish cardigan: My friend came to visit tonight so I asked her how to tell the difference between the sweaters you can unravel and the ones you can't and the answer is, if the pieces are serged together you cannot unravel it as the serger cuts the pieces as it serges. But if it is sewn together you are good to go. So now I know too!
You are an absolute GEM!! This one is not serged up the seams, but seamed! I'll definitely still proceed with caution! I cannot tell you how much I appreciate this!!! Thank you!
That scratchy pink yarn can also be held with another yarn like a mohair or alpaca for a beautiful cardigan. I recently did something similar with a yellow that I loved but did nothing for my complexion. I paired it recently with a beautiful alpaca and the finish sweater was just gorgeous!
Love the Inge (I think it’s pronounced In-ga, like the name, nothing fancy!). Also you could make a striking cowl from that colorwork pattern rather than the whole sweater. Also a cowl is a perfect way to break into colorwork. Those 4 autumn-colors would make a BEAUTIFUL colorwork hat and/or cowl. You wouldn’t need to dilute the depth of those rich colors with the oatmeal one that way (at least I prefer them without the light color added). Save the oatmeal for the Inge. And a cowl in those colors would be gorgeous next to your face, I bet you’d wear it all the time.😊
Nora I’m sure your psychic lol I’ve just sat down with a drink and popped onto the tube and here you are again just at the point I needed cheering up lol and on a Wednesday too pure joy as always ❤️
I am so going to TRY and not buy any yarn but stash bust instead, I think your ideas are great and will try and follow your plan. Happy stash busting xx
A couple of short sleeve tops you may want to look at are The Lakes Tee by Ozetta and the Feels Right Tee by Lily Kate France. Not sure about gauge, etc., but neither one are raglans. Loved this episode. Particularly because your approach to knitting is what works for you, and not what other makers are doing or what the logarithms say you should do. Thank you.
Thank you so much for the suggestions!! I'm really glad you enjoyed it--I thoroughly enjoyed making it! I have always been very comfortable with my sense of self and doing what works for me--swimming against the current if you will 🐟
Love the idea of finding patterns to use up some stash! The Classic Tee by Darling Jadore is one I'll be starting with stash yarn. Seems pretty basic! Love your podcast, thanks for sharing! :)
Re the hot dog yarn -- I would suggest just donating it. Let it go. Create space instead. You have other plans, and while you're knitting through those, other opportunities are going to come toward you. Don't let the sunk cost fallacy get you.
Eeeeee I know! I think that part of me including it in this challenge was to see if I could get excited about it. I’ll definitely re-evaluate it’s place in my stash if it’s still there at the end of the season!
Eeeeee I know! I think that part of me including it in this challenge was to see if I could get excited about it. I’ll definitely re-evaluate it’s place in my stash if it’s still there at the end of the season!
I really like the "tin' and "bamboo" (sorry forgotten the full names of the two lovely yarns) and was thinking stockinette Tee before you even said it. I enjoy your enthusiastic casts!
Check out the Miley Tee. Those browny sparkly yarns would be great for this tee. I've made a few in juniper moon farm zooey. Looks like a good match. Thanks for another fun podcast. Im with everyone that says they look forward to Saturday visits with you. And...I saw that little brushed alpaca beauty pop up. Awesome.
I absolutely understand expensive taste in yarns. That's one reason I make so many shawls. I will absolutely spend $32 for one or two skeins of gorgeous handpainted yarn I can make a shawl out of, but there's no way I'm going to pay that much for a sweater quantity of yarn.
Hi. Even undyed yarns usually have lots, where the color varies between those lots. An undyed yak yarn I have is that way. For your color work sweater especially for the autumn colors you might consider a sweater by tin can knits, like the mountain mist or one of their many other color work designs. They even have a design your own color work sweater book called strange brew.
Just noticing that the blush coloured yarn that you might knit into a skirt pairs quite well with the khaki shirt you are wearing. It would also look great with a slightly dustier, olive green or an intense fiery orange, like the colour of a torch lily x btw, I just loved the sleeping Nora: “A puffer vest!” 😂😂
Right??? I think the color has so much potential! I just don’t know if it will suit me. Thank you so much for that!! Hahaha I really had a good laugh making it 😂😂😂
I vote for the Patti, it would drape so nicely in the proposed combo, and it can even be dressed up for evening with the sparkle and a skirt or fluid wide leg pants. Also, two thumbs up on the color work blue/red sweater.
Your Spring knits are so exciting! I learn about so many great patterns from watching you. The Inge and Texo sweaters are stunning and Marie Walli’s patterns are my knitting goals. The Woolly Thistle just sent out an email with her pattern and yarns and I’m in love. I also love the Saskie Sweater by The Petite Knitter, it reminds me of one of my favorite books “The White Hare” by Jane Johnson. Happy knitting 💚🧶💚
Yayy! Thank you! I really try to keep a diverse array of patterns in my plans 😊 I'll have to check out that Petite Knitter pattern!! She does have some fun stuff!
I love the idea of stash busting! I’m in for the ride however it’s coming into Autumn/Winter in Australia so my plans will be more focused on that! Thanks for another awesome pod ❤
Hi! Lovely yarn and plans. About the skin color yarn - I want to warn you about making a skirt out of it. I made a woolen skirt, that I didn't think would iritate me, but it really does. Through the tights as well. I do not consider myself too sensitive to wool but it turned out my legs are :// Hope it works out for you!
I love watching your thought process! The rota sleeveless top is a pretty one for spring/summer. Apparently im already doing a #stashbustspring because I frogged a sweater I made years ago that I wasn’t wearing and paired the yarn with 3 random worsted skeins sitting in my stash to make a trinigan cardigan by Andrea Mowry. I love how it’s turning out but I will be making modifications to the length, sleeves and collar.
I just finished a Tolsta tee in bamboo and the pattern fits beautifully. I knit the fingering weight , it has stretched some and your pairing shd take care of that!
I’m already doing stash bust spring, so I’d be totally into a knitalong! I’m currently working on a self drafted tee using some leftovers from tops my mum and I knit last year, and all bar one of the current items in my queue are in yarns from stash 💪
The sparkly spangly linen one is similar to one I picked up because sale and I have magpie tendencies even though my style is pretty minimal. Aaaaanyway - I'm going to make market bags. Fun and practical and good for non stretchy yarns (also good gifts) There's a free one called Girlfriend market bag.
Love love the whole concept of your spring plans Nora! Sorry for the dad joke but you should totally make a logo emulating ghostbusters and call it stash busters!🤭 thanks for always offering your fresh take on knitting ❤
Idea for the hot dog yarn! (Although I love the skirt idea) What about marling it together with something else? You could go lighter with a white to make it fit the peach fuzz 2024 vibes, or with a darker coral/terracotta to make it work better next to your skin tone? Or you could turn it into a blanket 😏
Hahahah I love that we have all accepted that that is it's name 😂 I love where you're going with that!! I do wonder with a little peachy if it could be more wearable! It is just so scratchy though. I might knit a swatch and block it to see if it transforms!
I'm doing a gauge mod of MFTK Tee No. 1 (basically going to make a saddle shoulder tee). I think the construction looks better for t-shirts on me than raglans. Might be worth looking into that style.
I really like the style of this tee! Definitely my preference over a raglan. I think there are a few other similar designs as well for those looking for more size inclusive designers or different pattern writing styles
I have a tee pattern you may like! I am currently knitting the Tombo Tee by Handmade by Florence. It is a fingering weight pattern, however, by doing some dreaded math, you could make it work. I love the shoulder construction and the striping. Since you need more of the bamboo yarn, maybe you can find a 2nd color more to your liking and make it all work ❤
The Tolsta Tee is frumpy. No particular neckline, just reads ...wide. There are so many other fantastic, classic t-shirt patterns out there that are flattering. And -- what if you did the reversible puffer with the boucle on one side and the sparkle yarn on the reverse?? It wouldn't take advantage of the drape, but it's a fun concept.
Maybe that's what my hesitation is with the Tolsta....I like the versions with the added texture and detail but I find the plain one just doesn't quite look right to me. SPARKLE! Love that idea!
Hi Nora- I love the challenge and I’m in! Where do you find such wonderful thrift yarn? Can’t wait to see what you start on and the finished items. I so enjoy your podcasts!
Hello!!! I’m so glad you’re in!!! I wish I had a better answer, but my best tip for thrifting yarn is to just go as often as possible! I pop into any thrift store that I pass, even if it’s just for a minute to check if they have yarn. I’ve been really lucky but it’s also been a lot of unsuccessful trips. I just enjoy the thrill of the hunt!
another awesome podcast!!! here is another pattern suggestion called the Fettuccine by Valentina Cosciani, even though she does the pattern with 100% dk silk she also gives information for using wool etc... It's a fun mindless pattern easy for me to learn Portuguese purling.😀.
I love your plans and I’m totally in. I have A LOT of stash and I feel I want to knit so many things that I know I would wear but I would need to buy new yarns and because I have a lot already, I don’t buy and I end up knitting things just to get rid of the yarn and I end up gifting the items as well as they are not what I need 😢. I accumulated over the years one skein yarns, I had a lot of mystery clubs, yarn clubs etc that just added to that “one skein” stash and I tried knitting scrappy things but it’s just not my style😂 Anyway, I just wanted to say that I’m not totally sure the pinkish yarn would work well in a shirt either. I think you might end up looking like your naked from bottom down 😂 but I’m sure you know better. If it’s so woolly , I would knit that yarn into a nice squishy garter stitch blanket. I don’t really knit blankets as I need a lot of other things but I just finished a granny square blanket and although it’s not really my style, we use it A LOT! Just some thoughts 😂❤
😂😂😂😂 you are so so right about the skirt !!! I hope you challenge yourself with me to bust some stash. I figure that after the season, I can reevaluate what got used and what didn’t and maybe do a little selling and donating of the lingering skeins lol
the rust colour story might work for the petite knit celeste sweater, think peer gynt is the suggested, and only one ball of each colour, think it could be a knock out!
I would suggest PetiteKnit's Poppy Tee and found that to be a cool way to do a top down with a little more structure. I've done a shortsleeve version and am working on a long sleeve version.
Allo Nora, I love your idea of spring cleaning our yarn stash. Like you, I have a lot of leftover Fishermen yarn and I love the idea of making a striped sweater (I'll look for the colors of the stripes in my stash). Ok, I keep the notion of recycling, reuse, remodeling in mind... you already have the Ranunculus pattern. Why not make your t-shirt with this pattern? Or the Minimalist Cotton Tee by Minimalist Knitting ? Have a great day 😀🤗
Hello!!! I’m so glad you like the plan! I was also looking through my pattern library and trying to make some pairings from there! I think I still need a little time to recover from my ranunculus 😂 but I do think it would be beautiful in that fabric!!
Have you considered Ozetta’s Soho top for a summer tank with the green yarn? It’s top down, and looks simple and elegant. I also believe Kutovakika’s Lola, Love Letter, and Sailor Swift are top down
I really love your channel! For a skirt, I really like the Cloverdale Skirt by Woolfolk Design Team. It's all stockinette and there is a matching sweater that goes with it (a separate pattern). Very classic.
Dear Nora, I need to apologize and walk back my IG comment about making pattern modifications. I admire your fearlessness and joy in your knitting. Omg that’s sounds soooo beautiful!

@@akaNoraKnits agreed! Maybe a closer match would be alopecosa kochi though I’m sure you don’t want to be looking at all the fuzzy spiders lol
Oh jeez, the little stitch-covered tv inset-too clever girl! Love it!!!
I had so much fun with that one 😂😂😂 gotta keep things exciting! Hhahaa

@@AnnaE949what a beautiful message 😊
The Kevät by Caitlin Hunter and the Aisha by Olga Grishina are my favorite summer knits that I've knit thus far.

Thank you!!! I feel like staying organized is the only way I’ll ever get close to knitting all the things I want to! Thank you so much 🥰
Great minds think alike?! I had already started my own Stash Bust Spring with similar thoughts (mainly being OK with buying yarn in order to finish a project with stash yarn.) I have soooooo much yarn to work through, and it feels good to use it up.

A few options to consider:
Thelma Top by Le Pull
Ranne Vest by Irene Lin
Vestive by Annestrick

Yay!!!!!!!I bought the Texo almost instantly when it came out! KAL?? I have knit a few Zanete patterns, and absolutely love them! Love the idea of a stash bust, and definitely have a lot to knit through.
Even just an informal one would be fun!!! I have been drooling over it since the test knit!
Lots of fun plans-I suggest you start with the first few that most excite and reassess as you go further into the stash-busting. At some point, priorities change (for me), and I always go with what’s current rather than prior decisions. 🤷🏼♀️

🤯 I wish I thought of that sooner! You just gave me a new idea for it!!
When you pulled out the red and blue yarn I squealed “ooooh please make Inge!!”
Am I the only one who constantly finds themself singing along to the jingle?😄 So catchy! I must say I adore your editing style in general and am just blown away by the effort you put in your videos, you're such a pro!

@korppariknits My kiddo & I definitely sing along!
I like the oatmeal with the desaturated colors, and the cream with the blue and red! The cream would let those colors pop even more.
Ooooh! I never even thought to swap them!!
I came here to say the same thing! Totally agree 😊
I came here to echo same! Oatmeal with those fall colors is GREAT combo! Bright cream with bright blue & red is a perfect classic! 🎉
Nora, your flesh colored yarn would make a beautiful cardigan (like the gray one you showed in your winter knitting plans). Good luck.
Hmmmmm you might be right!! Thanks for the idea!
I love the puffer vest idea. So fun and funky. I love the way you think about knitting.

Those warn colours with the grey are screaming heirloom quilt cardigan to me 😍
I was thinking about that one too!!!!
Your graphics are just incredible!
Thank you!!
Love your adventurous decision to make the collared cable sweater!!!
Adventure is the word. I can see Nora rocking that sweater!
I love how creative you are with the ideas for the yarn you have, it gave me some ideas to explore with my own yarn 🎉
Thank you!!!! Yayy! That’s the point! Go have some fun!!
You just amaze me every week! All your ideas are so beautiful!
Thank you!!!
plans for my next day off: go through my yarn to stash bust! great idea. i just knit so slow...lol.❤
That's okay!!! One stitch at a time!!!
Shout out to snails stitches gang! I'm a proud member!
The Inge pullover is such a good match for the yarns you have in stash!
Right??? And it’s just so pretty
I'm doing a similar stash bust ! yay ! this was exactly the encouragement I needed to stick with it:)
Genius to put the linen and bamboo together to create a fabric that works for you:) That's what I love about stash busting is the opportunity to get creative with what I already have
Everything you chose looks incredible, and I think they'll all really suit you:) excited to join you in this stash bust this spring and see all you make
Totally agree. I also thought the bamboo-linen combo works and will be super cool in a tee.
Hello!!! I have to agree--I do think it would make for a great staple piece!
I love your presentation style. The thought you put into this video is so inspiring. I enjoy listening to your thought processes. Thank you for great content. I am currently knitting a summer tank out of a cotton bamboo blend. I hope to enjoy it as the weather warms up.
Thank you so so much!! I hope you get it done just in time!!
Good luck on your summer tank!
I love my walk the line skirt by joan ho! I believe its a dk weight pattern and its got great customization for body fit
The Patti is perfect for your yarn choice 😊
Thank you so much! I think we’re doing it!!
That Me Oh My Tee pattern looks so cool, thank for suggesting it
I'm completely in love with the Cobalt blue cone!!!🎉 💙 Looking at your Ravelry page, several of your projects are missing pictures. 😢
I'm really appreciating your point of view on patterns for those of us of similar measurements. 😊
I would be so invested in your Inge sweater - such an interesting project! I'm also working on a stash-busting spring and summer so its nice to see others are doing the same 😊
Edited to add - as soon as you showed those autumnal colours, I thought they'd be perfect for stripe hype!
Right??? I need to see how far I can stretch the fishermen’s wool!! Thank you!
i LOVE the stash bust spring idea!
Yayyy! I think we shall do it!
I’m in!!!
I so feel the same!! It’s nice knowing that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel!
Love the A-line shape Christoffers tee for your combo yarns. The drape will be nice if you knit at a fairly open gauge and that will also stretch your yarns.
Wow I never thought of knitting a puffer vest - great idea ❤
Isn’t that fun??
Don’t kick the vest off your list!! It’s so cute ❤❤❤ I love all the unique knitting plans you make!
Isn’t it?? I know!! I kind of felt bad for it after 😂 it’s been on my mind!!
Love "Stashbust Spring!!"
T-shirt patterns: Wayfarer Tee, Lounging Tee, Rock It Tee. Love seeing your vids pop up to break up the monotony of my day ❤.
Thank you so much for the suggestions! Thanks for being here too 🥰
Texo wow that’s going to look great on you
Thank you!!! I hope so! It's such a showstopper in my opinion!
@suwmount6042 agreed
And a cowl in those colors would be gorgeous next to your face, I bet you’d wear it all the time.😊
Totally down for a stash bust spring!! Literally just posted on IG that I need to go on a yarn no buy and start working through some projects 🫣
Nora I’m sure your psychic lol I’ve just sat down with a drink and popped onto the tube and here you are again just at the point I needed cheering up lol and on a Wednesday too pure joy as always ❤️
Aww yay! Well thanks so much for being here 💛
I am so going to TRY and not buy any yarn but stash bust instead, I think your ideas are great and will try and follow your plan. Happy stash busting xx
Yayyy! Welcome to the journey! Thank you!
Im in!! 😊 i love this challenge!! Its like a non official kal in my mind! Team #stashbustspring ! ❤
Yayyy! I love an unofficial challenge too!!
The puffer vest is so fun!!!!!! I really hope you make it
It’s creeping it’s way up my priority list!
Awesome.
Thank you so much!!
I absolutely understand expensive taste in yarns. That's one reason I make so many shawls. I will absolutely spend $32 for one or two skeins of gorgeous handpainted yarn I can make a shawl out of, but there's no way I'm going to pay that much for a sweater quantity of yarn.
This is why I wish I liked accessories more 😂 I just want sweaters….so so so many oversized sweater lol
That’s so good to know! Thank you!!!
Just noticing that the blush coloured yarn that you might knit into a skirt pairs quite well with the khaki shirt you are wearing. It would also look great with a slightly dustier, olive green or an intense fiery orange, like the colour of a torch lily x
btw, I just loved the sleeping Nora: “A puffer vest!” 😂😂
Right??? I think the color has so much potential! I just don’t know if it will suit me. Thank you so much for that!! Hahaha I really had a good laugh making it 😂😂😂
So looking forward to see all the pretty pieces you will make this season... I have a rough idea of what I will be working on but no definite plans.
It’s so fun to make plans! That’s honestly just as fun as actually following through with them for me 😂
I vote for the Patti, it would drape so nicely in the proposed combo, and it can even be dressed up for evening with the sparkle and a skirt or fluid wide leg pants.
Love your idea. I definitely have the stash to do this
I love the oatmeal red and blue the best
The texo sweater is amazing, on my to knit list now 😉 thanks for recomendation
Isn’t it?? So glad you think so too!!
I love the idea of stash busting! I’m in for the ride however it’s coming into Autumn/Winter in Australia so my plans will be more focused on that! Thanks for another awesome pod ❤
Yayy! Even better!! You can make some big ol’ cozy sweaters and get even more stash out!!!
@@akaNoraKnits it’s because of you Nora that I’m going to try and knit my first garment and move beyond beanies and scarves. You’ve made me brave ❤️
It's so fun to think out loud! I love that you're repurposing that yarn! I'll have to look at that pattern!
I just finished a Tolsta tee in bamboo and the pattern fits beautifully. I knit the fingering weight , it has stretched some and your pairing shd take care of that!
That’s so great to know!!
I’m already doing stash bust spring, so I’d be totally into a knitalong! I’m currently working on a self drafted tee using some leftovers from tops my mum and I knit last year, and all bar one of the current items in my queue are in yarns from stash 💪
Look at you go!!! It’s such a great time to get the stash together!
The sparkly spangly linen one is similar to one I picked up because sale and I have magpie tendencies even though my style is pretty minimal.
Aaaaanyway - I'm going to make market bags. Fun and practical and good for non stretchy yarns (also good gifts)
There's a free one called Girlfriend market bag.
That’s such a great idea!
Hi there, yes, let’s stash bust spring. Hugs from California, Stephanie
Yayy! I’ll get on it! Thanks, Stephanie!!
Love love the whole concept of your spring plans Nora!
Sorry for the dad joke but you should totally make a logo emulating ghostbusters and call it stash busters!🤭 thanks for always offering your fresh take on knitting ❤
Hahahaha wait I love that idea!!! And am always down for a dad joke 😂
Great to know!! Thank you!!
I really like the style of this tee! Definitely my preference over a raglan. I think there are a few other similar designs as well for those looking for more size inclusive designers or different pattern writing styles
Love the Inge pattern and the combo looks inspired! How lucky to be able to use from stash!
Right?? And thrifted stash nonetheless! It’s fun to put those constraints in place and see what you can come up with!
Love the idea of a stash bust Knitalong! I also love the Sari Nordland vest and am looking through my stash to see if I can make it!
Ooooh yayy!!
I have a tee pattern you may like! I am currently knitting the Tombo Tee by Handmade by Florence. It is a fingering weight pattern, however, by doing some dreaded math, you could make it work. I love the shoulder construction and the striping. Since you need more of the bamboo yarn, maybe you can find a 2nd color more to your liking and make it all work ❤
Great to know! I’ll have to check it out! Thank you!
+1 for the #stashbustspring KAL!
Yayyy!!
Hi Nora- I love the challenge and I’m in! Where do you find such wonderful thrift yarn? Can’t wait to see what you start on and the finished items. I so enjoy your podcasts!
i want to know the best places to thrift yarn as well!
You could switch the red and blue in the colorwork sweater.
Rota Sleeveless Top for the truboo combo.
I'll have to check it out!! Thank you for the recommendation!
Ooh I just looked it up and agree that could look awesome!
The Northeasterly Blanket by Skeinanigans. Great stashbusting addictive project. Fingering/dk weight blanket
That vest is so cool! Definitely staying tuned to see the outcome in case I want to make a fall vest this year! Love the podcast Nora 😊
Right!! My curiosity may get the best of me on that one!
another awesome podcast!!! here is another pattern suggestion called the Fettuccine by Valentina Cosciani, even though she does the pattern with 100% dk silk she also gives information for using wool etc... It's a fun mindless pattern easy for me to learn Portuguese purling.😀.
Thank you!!! I’ll have to look it up! The name sounds yum 😋 lol
I do love the stash busting KAL idea :)
Yayyy! Let's do it!
I accumulated over the years one skein yarns, I had a lot of mystery clubs, yarn clubs etc that just added to that “one skein” stash and I tried knitting scrappy things but it’s just not my style😂
Anyway, I just wanted to say that I’m not totally sure the pinkish yarn would work well in a shirt either.
I do love that pattern! It’s such a pretty yoke!
I would suggest PetiteKnit's Poppy Tee and found that to be a cool way to do a top down with a little more structure. I've done a shortsleeve version and am working on a long sleeve version.
Thank you for the suggestion!!!
For your DK weight simple tee maybe the Riley Tee? It’s very classic and drop shouldered!
I shall check!! Thank you!!
Allo Nora,
I love your idea of spring cleaning our yarn stash.
Or the Minimalist Cotton Tee
by Minimalist Knitting ?
Have a great day
😀🤗
I LOVE that pattern! So much so, that I think I'd like to invest in some fantastic yarn to knit the full set!
