@@SirenGirl2001 I believe O'Fallon's 'bolt had bad slip ring brushes and quite possibly bad commutator brushes on top of that. It also sounded like the bearings were just starting to go because it seemed to wind-down a bit quicker than normal, although nowhere near as extreme as some I've heard.
Do you think the brushes could also cause this if they're worn or damaged? Hopefully repairs on the relay is all it needs. It definitely seems like a connection issue as mentioned.
Sounds like something isn’t making good contact. I can’t imagine it could be the bearings. It has great pitch (at first) for a single phase repulsion siren.
Obviously 3T22s don't have a battery, but I live near a Federal Signal 2001 DC that had a bad backup battery or battery charger, one of the two, and it had a similar program as that one for the local fire department. It died fast until it was finally fixed so it would end up sounding kind of just like this, except it didn't stutter, it just got weaker and weaker and died down back then in that time.
An example of what running exclusively fast wail can do to a siren. This siren and the others were better off with their original controllers. I do not understand why they run the fire signal for non-coded sirens on a system that is almost exclusively coded. They should honestly run hi-lo instead.
Having the contact more frequently actuate due to fast wail will inevitably place more wear on it. The more the contactor actuates, the greater wear on the contacts from arching, and there is more potential that the contactor may become sticky, frozen, or otherwise inhibited from operating over time.

No its not. It is impossible to sound fast wail on an AF timer. You cannot reprogram an AF timer as it is an electromechanical device. These sirens use an FC, as indicated by the longer first on cycle during fast wail. Even if by some thought of the imagination they got an AF timer to sound fast wail, the first on cycle would be the same as every other.

Kinda reminds me of a nightmare i had on November 20th... Lemme explain. there were kiddies running to a 3T22 that suddenly starts degenerating into a UK siren. The 3t22's transformation was realistic iirc: It was rusty and horns started falling off, but the weird thing is it sounded like a hurricane not a 2t22. However, the choppers were spinning while the thunderbolt went off in the background confusing me at first then the 2t22 started sounding like a hurricane. Edit: Well, it seems like my nightmare's a reality, but the sound only for this 2t22 is affected
If this thing runs on DTMF codes, they were probably misread, or most likley electrical issues with the siren, and a slight possibility of controller issues. In conclusion, this is what a test is about. The contactor probably isn't working right.

And read at the end the tick generator turns on one and then it goes to piches three seconds
