  • Anglo-American’s Dawson Mine lies in the rich coal country of Central Queensland, Australia. It’s a very busy site in a tough environment, and the mine’s large hauling fleet produces a lot of health data - data that was difficult and time-consuming to sift through. As a result, maintenance of the machines was more reactive than proactive. To improve the site’s fleet uptime, Cat dealer Hastings-Deering employed a Condition Monitoring program that has been enabled by Cat® Equipment Care Advisor - a web-based tool that combines equipment and application data with real-time analytics, plus the combined expertise of the global dealer network. This implementation is helping the mine better plan and schedule repairs before problems escalate - reducing costs and improving the availability of the fleet.
