I have always loved the saxophone and learned how to play when I was 46 yrs. old (I'm 59 now). I own a soprano (beginner), an alto (intermediate), and a tenor (supposedly a professional/vintage) but I haven't played them in like 7 or 8 yrs. because of a bad back and knees so I have to sit a lot and it discourages me. I've been having the urge to play again, though, even if it's just to go through my beginner books and get reacquainted with my favorite instrument. Thank you for sharing this beautiful and inspiring (to me) video! The United States Army Field Band has some of the best musicians I've ever heard and I'm so grateful to be able to hear them via this platform! Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving!!
My husband played sax in high-school. From what he tells me; it faked it A LOT! You guys rock! Thanks for your service, too. With my deepest gratitude 🙏 ❤
Very lovely. I am a tenor saxophone player. There isn’t a whole lot of classical music for tenor because the alto has the desired range and most composers didn’t care for anything above alto. In fact very few of the well known composers used either alto or soprano. But it is what it is. Modern works are more inclusive in jazz, world music and film scores.
Always keep an eye on our vacancy page! We only have vacancies when a Soldier retires, leaves the unit, or changes over to a non-performing position within the unit.
Circular breathing. Very easy to do conceptually (and exceedingly difficult practically) but the key is the make it difficult to hear where you circular breathe

Thanks so much, Tami! Glad you enjoyed the video. Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
Are there any community bsnds in your area? Research it and if there are maybe it'll be the motivation to get you back on the horse and playing again.
As a low reed player myself, I think it would be great to see a bass clarinet/bari sax (and maybe bassoon) group from these guys
The Light Cavalry Overture was the closing piece for my first concert in university, so fun!

From one sax player to another, that was amazing!
My school loves to pull this audition rep for our ensembles!
as someone whos maine instrument is alto sax but also plays low brass, this is crazy fun. its crazy how a sax can sound like a clarinet sometimes.
Ottimi musicisti! É un vero piacere ascoltarvi. Thank you very much 🤗🎷
You are very welcome!

It’s great to see the three saxophonist from the saxophone standard also what happened to David Barks? Did he quit or leave.
He's still a member of our unit! He has switched over to our Supply Section.
GREAT PERFORMANCES !
Let’s go I suggested that!
Un superbe instrument mis en valeur par de brillants instrumentistes
Espectacular
This is cool! Can you do a jazz one too?
Perhaps!
What mouthpiece and ligature are most of these players playing on?
Where can we find these for saxophone other than imslp? I just play the Eb clarinet part.
Do you know if any other vacancies will be available for alto saxes?
