I think it would be really cool to see you create black and white together on like a dalmatian or some item on a page. 🙏 I could see a resin paper weight with pencil nubs holding down papers as you color them. Especially your favorite prisma highlight colors!! It would be quite beautiful!! 🥰
I love your videos - the longer the better when giving us tips! Re: creating black from combinations of colors, I learned to do this from watercolor. There are black watercolor paints, but the most common way to get black is by combining 2 - 3 colors. In color theory, black comes from all colors combined. So you find a combination of red, blue & yellow, and adjust the proportions until true black is achieved. You can experiment with different combinations using the colors you are already using in your artwork to find what works best. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us!
I know you did this video a year ago, but to answer your question about a long or short length video, the longer the better. I have been bingeing your videos for days now and they are wonderful. I am learning so much and I thank you.
The color combination of indigo and umber is a very good one. I used it in a recent picture and it is fantastic. Thanks for sharing, really enjoyed the series.
You can also get a deep rich black by layering black, Indigo and Tuscan Red (or Crimson Lake)and keep alternating them, but making black without using black is a neat hack...loved it!
Love this and I don't mind them been an hour long I can stop and start them back up again. Hopefully I can find ways do this with my crayola pencils and I am learning loads thank you
I have a very well-loved set of what I think used to be a 48 count set but is now a 43 count set, of Eagle Prismacolors that my mom passed down to me that were a gift from one of her step fathers growing up. I don't use them at all anymore, I just keep them in my case full of extra open stock pencils, but I love them so much, they're very precious to me given they used to be my mom's, she gave them to me as a gift, they were my first colored pencils that made me love to color, and then of course the added specialness of them being vintage ones that aren't really made anymore (at least, not like that). Even well-loved and with several of them being tiny nubs, I still think they're super pretty. I LOVE your shadow box idea! I might steal it and make one for myself with my pencils. Dunno what exactly I'd make, but maybe when I'm able to have my own place someday I can have a studio to put it up in as a reminder of where I started in art/coloring. Very fun. Also, I know this is an old video but I really love your long videos. I always watch them all the way through, even if I have to pause and come back to them later. They're calming, I like to color along with you, and I always learn something new from them! Thank you so much for sharing your tips and tricks with us, they're greatly appreciated 🫶
I watch your videos all the way through Pamela, so helpful not only watching what you do but also the advice and pointers you give verbally too. Definitely more Tips and Tricks would be great - I am just starting out so need all the help I can get! One subject I would like to see covered would be how you choose where you want light and shade on items in the picture and how this works/fits together for the picture as a whole. I'm not an artist so find this is not coming naturally at all and when I look at a new page to start its so daunting! Where do I start? etc. Thanks again so much for your excellent videos 🤩🥇✨ Peace, respect and stay safe, Ben
I also always watch your videos till the end and don’t mind the longer videos. I’ve learned so much since finding your channel. Thanks for all the videos.
♥️all your videos don’t mind how long they are and any helpful hints really welcome, I am a beginner.Maybe hints on colouring faces and hair.I know it has been done but more is great even with repeat ideas included.👏👏👏✏️✏️✏️

@@colouroo2141 The video titled clearly states that it is a hack or tips and tricks. This is just another way to do things to be able to be creative. It really is not extra work. If you were to use just a black, your image would be flat. You could also use just black and use different pressures of the pencil changing the values of the color. This series is all about different things you can do with colored pencils that a lot of people probably have not realized. This video is meant to get ideas and be fun.
I just purchased the Pagos Art colored pencils and watercolor pencils and would love to see you work with them! I got them after watching you! And yes... I watch all the video! Just being honest in saying the ads do disrupt the flow of the video as sometimes they are really close in time. You can superglue the short pencil to an unsharpened regular graphite pencil and then you are able to use every bit of your colored pencil. Should have no problems sharpening.

Your videos are never too long as far as I'm concerned :) Some of those color along videos by other channels last over two hours - I don't mind that, either. I appreciate all your time and am learning all the time. One thing I've learned particularly well is "Place Order." HA HA HA HA!!!!!!
Thank you Dee Dee! Oh I have so many other ideas. You would be amazed at what I can come up with! I love doing these videos. This is why they end up so long. Then I look at the clock and I'm over here filming like, "Oops!" 😂
I always watch all the way to the end. I don't have a problem with videos up to an hour long or so. I mean alot of tv programs are an hour long so why not an instructional video. Love your channel so much. Thank you for all the quality content.
Very useful tips, all of them! I don't mind longer videos. They keep me company while I'm coloring. ☺I do have an idea for a video. It would come in handy if you don't have the metallic Crayolas to know which colors to use for making a passable gold and silver. Thanks for sharing all your tips. Love them.
You mean you would like to know what colors to use to make gold and silver with the Crayolas? Just wondering because, in this video, I am using Prismacolors.
I think I goofed on Joining your Facebook group. I think there was more than one question, I only answered the first one, got too excited and pressed submit. Lol
This video contains other ideas that are not just for beginners. If you read the title of the video, you would see that this series is targeted towards beginners, but is for anyone at any level of coloring. The pencil sharpener segment is very short and only to show you how to insert a very small pencil that needs to go into a pencil extender. You can very easily fast forward the video if need be. You apparently have made a habit out of only leaving negative comments on my videos. If they continue, I have no problem blocking you. You are apparently not a happy person and this is a positive zone. I hope your days get better. Thanks for watching.
Michelle why didn't you read the title, it says beginner. Big as day. You are always so mean and bad mouth her for no good reason. Go some where that is good enough for you. I can promise you no one here will miss you.
I have not tried it with those yet because I have not used my Luminance or Pablo's enough to make them small enough to need an extender. Honestly though, I don't think I would put my Luminance in these just because they cost so much money. Haha! I am very careful with my Luminance because I want them to last forever for what I paid. 😂
I need everything I can learn with co!or pencil. I know how to fast forward and I know how to rewind videos and watch it again. 1 hour is short my way of watching.
Another way of getting use out of the very short nub of pencil is if you have a hot melt glue gun,a small dab of hot glue on the flat end and join it to the flat end of another pencil, you can then use it in your sharpener but being careful not to sharpen into the glue, and you can use it to colour while attached. If you use open stock pencils you can join it onto your replacement pencil so there is no difference in how it feels in your hand when colouring.
I'm wondering, as far as you coloring for your own self, how long does it take you to color an average, moderately busy, page if you are actually sorta following all your own tips and tricks? Seems like it has to take FOREVER to get through a page, especially like a Johanna Basford page, for example. 😀
Wow amazing tips👍, thx so much!! And 1 long video is brilliant, lits of tips in one is fab!! 😘 And yeah, a series tipa and tricks with no ending (forever ongoing) YEAH!!! I would probably finally have the curage very fast, to use my PC for bigger projects.... Now i know way to little, so so thankful for all your fab videos.
The blacks look the same. If you went over the black one a few more times they would look identical, so why would you give yourself more work by adding brown and blue, am I missing something?? Why not just use black if you want black?? I've watched a lot of colouring videos and never seen this be an issue with anyone??
Because when using just black alone, you create a “flat” image. When coloring with colored pencils you don’t ever want your images to look flat. Did you watch all the way through to the coloring part of the video?
My videos are all planned. It’s a bit difficult to do tutorial videos without a lot of commentary. I definitely can’t please everyone all of the time. Thanks for watching.

Thank you for watching my videos Kim. I am so glad you enjoy them.
💛💛💛💛💛
Not the pencil sharper again I am not a beginner so please let people know at the start
Lol... you didn’t watch. This was a great video. Even a pro like could have learned something. Or not, since manners are over you head.
Michelle why didn't you read the title, it says beginner. Big as day. You are always so mean and bad mouth her for no good reason. Go some where that is good enough for you. I can promise you no one here will miss you.
Will this pencil extender fit the Luminance or the hexagonal shape of the Pablo?
I have not tried it with those yet because I have not used my Luminance or Pablo's enough to make them small enough to need an extender. Honestly though, I don't think I would put my Luminance in these just because they cost so much money. Haha! I am very careful with my Luminance because I want them to last forever for what I paid. 😂
Thank youuuu for this! 🤗🖤🤘🏾
You're so welcome!
I’m a very slow colorist so it does take me quite a while from start to finish on one page.
I’m glad you enjoyed it. There is an ongoing series with lots of tips and tricks. There is a playlist and over 20 videos.
Would love to see white on white paper.
Hi Annette! I'm in the process of filming that right now!! Oh I can't wait to bring you all this video! Have a great day! ❤
@@PamelasPassionforPencils awesome
Making white on white paper would be really useful to accomplish, leaving the paper bare just doesn't work for me,so yes please to a video.
That video will be released today 😀
ha ha ha I should have watched more of the video before commenting!
Oh I saw that! 😂
Open stock pencils are not that expensive...save yourself the trouble and break out a new one.
I love ur videos but you could talk less and maybe plan what ur gunna say n not just think it up on the spot... just my opinion..I love ur videos
My videos are all planned. It’s a bit difficult to do tutorial videos without a lot of commentary. I definitely can’t please everyone all of the time. Thanks for watching.
