Funny after this I watched your Shenandoah video. I'll be heading there April 2021 while visiting DC. I visited 18 National Parks in 2 years and definitely loved all of Utah and Death Valley
You caught Thunder Hole at an exceptional time. I have visited for forty years and now live here, and I have only seen Thunder Hole that explosive maybe a dozen times. Don’t be disappointed if the conditions are not exciting, there is plenty of coastal beauty.
Another great video, Mike. Must have been destiny to find your channel. First I got to see your Yosemite video, which I'll be visiting for the first time in June and now your Acadia video which I'll be visiting for the first time in October :).
@@OBRTravel Yosemite, Sequoia, Kings Canyon, Pinnacles in June and Acadia plus all of New England in October. "There are a lot of people here to look at the leaves" I felt that one, when I went to Cuyahoga national park I couldn't stop anywhere there was no parking :(((
Fun fact: I'm from Croatia, and I've learned about this place by playing Fallout 4. There is a town called Far Harbor with a nearby settlement of Acadia in that game. This place looks awesome however and I'd love to see it someday.

Hey only subbed a few days ago but can tell this account will grow if you keep it up. Great vids. I think you should try traveling to the Middle East; specifically Philly. I live near philly and it’s incredible to get a mix of nature and city. Valley green state park (Wissahickon state park) is incredible. It’s over 20 miles long and hundreds of trails. It’s nestled only 10 miles from inner city. Let me know what you think I can provide some hidden gems like Gettysburg battle ground historic park, Wissahickon park as a recommended, and the city that of course comes with the Philly food. The city, food, and nature I feel would be a perfect video for everyone. Plus 30 min north is the Poconos a small but pretty mountain range.
Thanks for watching and subscribing!! Interestingly enough, I actually live in Philly as well! I have been thinking about making a video about the nature trails in the surrounding area but I haven't had the time yet. Maybe when it's nicer this April/May!
We are going in a couple of weeks for the first time and I found this video very useful so thanks! Too bad the shuttles are not running. They seemed very useful.
Went today for the first time with my 3 college roommates! It was really fun! And had super clear beautiful views at bubble rock! Funny how every UA-camr video I’ve looked at after visiting today have all also visited in October! Wish I thought to look up the park a bit more prior to visiting, my roommate who drove accidentally forgot the map she was handed when we all drove in, in the car so we aimlessly just wondered around but it was still a great time and we still found a lot of these places in ur video actually! 😂👍🏻
Hi friend. We've been looking at Acadia. What a neat area to explore. Thanks for the tips here. The view on the way up Penobscot Mountain is awesome. And Bubble Rock has you way up there, too. Even with the fog, very cool looking.
Would you mind hopping over to our channel and making sure we are still friends there? We've lost some lately and want to make sure we're still friends with you.
Just went to Acadia for the fourth time in my life. Will not be going back anytime soon if ever. It has become WAY too busy. The traffic is ridiculous and takes the beauty out of the nature.
Such a nice place! I imagine it would be nice to live there in the spring and fall when it is less crowded! (and probably this year as well since fewer people are travelling)
Apparently it can also be hit and miss because an acquaintance tried to catch it before high tide but it didn’t quite materialize. Worth a shot though if you are planning a visit to the park. Good Luck
If you like beehive and precipice, I highly recommend Jordan cliffs. I made a custom trail on AllTrails that did that and then the bubble mountains and then finished around jordan pond.
The cliffs above Echo Lake are great, as well. Lonely trail, but nice views from the summit, although they do not maintain this trail as much because it gets very little traffic.
Just spent 2 days there. Bass Harbor and Bar Harbor and the Park are absolutely breathtaking. We went on the harbor cruise. What a beautiful place. We seen Harbor Porpoise and Bald Eagle's and Ospreys Sales and even a Shark. It was a bucket list thing for my wife and myself. Enjoyed every second of it. If you happen to go to Bass Harbor eat at the Seafood Ketch. Best freshest seafood I've ever had. Also seen at least 4 lighthouses
I was there last week. Not mentioned on your list are: precipice which unfortunately was closed for falcon nesting, but I was able to do beehive and that was still awesome. Also another one that was great on the other side of the park was the beech cliff ladder trail above echo lake parking area. Great views on both!
Asticu Garden and ledges Thuya Garden, Little Long Pond, Wonderland, Hadlock Pond Trail (upper & lower), Valley Trail, Beach Mtn. Trail, Jessup Trail. Also the rear entrance to Sand Beach. The best photography locations.
july and august are the most popular but i honestly love going labor day weekend (as i’m doing this year as well). make sure if you are going hiking or something to go in the morning on a weekday!
What a great video! Not to long, not too short🙏🏼 I appeciate your description of the difficulty of each trail and also the tips about not driving, haha. Im going next week, and you covered some of the trails/places I am considering. Thank you!
Great video! Around what time did you notice that the traffic/parking situation got really bad? I am planning a trip to Acadia, but am worrisome about the traffic.
Traffic was very bad last year. It might be as bad, or worse this year. Acadia is a popular place, because of where it is situated within 500 miles of NYC. Boston, etc.
There is incredible natural beauty, variety of landscapes: mountains, lakes, forest and ocean, wildlife and hiking to be explored in New England. Great video.
can you tell me the exact weeks you were there? I am going to be there for 2 weeks in October to catch the peak fall foliage. any suggestions will help
Coastal and southern Maine reach peak or near peak conditions at around mid-to-last October. I wouldn’t wait too long either as some years we will get a cold snap or rainstorm that knocks all the foliage down early. ☹️ ENJOY THE 207!!!!
I went on a very crowded weekend, so it can definitely get very crowded at the main attractions but if you take an obscure trail like Jordan Cliffs trail early in the morning, you're likely to not see a single person. It's quite nice

Just don't buy the cans of clam chowder in the gift shop. My girlfriend and I bought like 5 cans at $8 a piece only to find them at a gift shop in Bar Harbor for $4.75. Yikes!
@@OBRTravel you hit a couple of the good ones, but I would recommend getting away from all the crowded spots next time. I hope my comment didn't sound rude. Happy travels.
Here are some of my recommendations from my recent trip. I recommend visiting flying mountain in west side Acadia. It has a wonderful loop with a bit of tech and smooth trails. It ends up spitting you out onto a beautiful cove in the sound. After visiting bass head lighthouse check out the wonderland trail as well.
I think it’s important to note that getting to Bubble rock from the North is easy. Coming up from the South via Jordan Pond is a very different story. We came down that side in the wet and it was tricky, especially near the summit.
This is my number one place I want to visit and my number one state. I can’t wait to make it there one day. So beautiful! If you’ve never taken a trip to Michigan, I recommend checking out places in our Upper Peninsula. It is very beautiful and scenic.
Don't forget that you have to pay 30 bucks a day just to drive around here then they charge you 2 bucks just to drive to see thunder hole and then another 2 bucks to go to the top of the mountain. Drove there from Missouri because I always wanted to go then discover I can't go because I didn't get on line and pay 2 bucks which is the only way you can get the passes , I left not seeing much nature that should be free for anyone to see so 1300 plus miles for nothing, very disappointed in our national park systems.
I just use my national parks "America The Beautiful" pass. It's like $70 and you get into everything run by the NPS for a year. National parks, national seashores, museums, Gettysburg stuff, etc. It's great!
