BAR HARBOR, MAINE PART 2: Hiking The Most Dangerous Trail In Acadia - Precipice Trail!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 жов 2024
- We continue our time in Acadia National Park by hiking the most dangerous trail in Acadia National Park, Precipice Trail. It was definitely the most dangerous hike we've done of all the trails we've done, even Angels Landing. The cliff is super exposed with 100ft drop offs throughout the entire climb. But it also is one of the most beautiful hikes we've done. The fall colors were absolutely gorgeous and totally worth all the hard work climbing to the top. There were people of all ages doing the hike, so despite its challenge, it is definitely doable.
After doing the hike we went over to Otter Cliffs & saw some rock climbers before heading up to Cadillac Mountain for sunset. We had some more lobster at Geddy's for dinner that evening & bought some souvenirs the next day before hitting the road.
Acadia was definitely one of our favorite parks. We can't wait to go back and spend a little more time exploring!
Next Up: The Maine Coast!

Wow what an incredible view, but man that trail is difficult, I would shit my pants from anxiety. Just watching you guys climb up there gives me fears. Good job you two.
Looking back, it was definitely a lot more sketchy than we made it out to be! lol Can't make mistakes climbing a ladder on the side of a mountain! But do admit it was one of the most beautiful views & so worth it! 🧡
Wow, such a beautiful hike but I had major anxiety just watching you guys do it. Also, I love the dedication of James clinging to a literal cliff and still stopping to take cute pictures of you. This is the kind of dedication I expect from my husband now 🤣
It was definitely one of the riskier hikes we've ever done! But totally worth it! And yes! 😂 Gotta do what it takes to get the shot of Meg!! 😂 Thanks so much for watching!
I can’t begin to tell you how much I loved your Acadia videos! I am fast approaching my 70th birthday and just going out to get the mail is a tricky adventure these days. But back in October,1990, my then fiancé and I spent a week on Mt Desert Island during peak foliage season. It was a New England Indian summer and we were in tee shirts all week.We decided to do the Precipice Trail, too! I had forgotten about some parts of it,but your climb reminded me of how challenging it was! But when we reached the top,the feeling of accomplishment was so wonderful! We had not done much hiking before that trip. Sadly, that fiancé is now my ex,but sharing that experience with someone I loved, will be a FOREVER happy memory!! I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed being a small part of your Acadia adventures! I hit the “subscribe” button so I am looking forward to watching more of your travels! You are an upbeat, sweet couple! Thank you for making this old lady’s day!❤️❤️
I’m loving all of your New England videos so much!! I visited Acadia two years ago in September and it was a little too early for peak foliage. This year I’m hoping to visit in early October… fingers crossed for nice color. You guys made me want to try the Precipice trail but I don’t think I could convince my boyfriend to do it! 😂
Thanks so much Thank you for watching 🧡 We really got so lucky that the foliage was perfect while we were there! 🍂 Early October should be a good time to visit! You should start to see some of the leaves changing by then! 🍁 Look into the Beehive hike and see if that is one that may be okay for you guys! It's another challenging hike, but I don't believe as tough as Precipice. Still really great views!
You are the best couple on youtube
Thank you so much! That's so nice for you to say!
I thought I enjoyed hiking but I would’ve turned back SO many times! Haha That was a serious hike!!
I died at the doo doo part 😂
Love watching your vids while I work!!
Just started watching you...great tips, awesome videos. You two compliment eachother with your fun. I am planning a trip to Bar Harbor & Acadia with my husband next year, 25th anniversary ❤️ and our pups.
Thanks so much for the kind words 🥹🧡 Thank you for watching! Bar Harbor will be so nice for an anniversary trip! What time of year are you guy going?
I love that place so much! Wish we could have taken that harrowing hike😳
It is so beautiful! The hike was scary, but fun!
.The Nonsense of W&J can't wait to do this hike thanks for the tip
It is totally worth the climb! The views are unbelievable
You will love it! It's worth the climb & the beautiful views
Fun to watch! Stunning scenery. Y'all are brave. Thank you!
China's Mount Hua hike and this hike are not on my bucket list.
You both are really cool customers, hike on!
Thanks so much!! 🤟
Loved your video! We will be going to a wedding at the Bar Harbor Inn the end of May and plan to do some sight seeing while there. I know which hike I will not be doing 😬 Lol! Your filming and narration was just like we were there with you. Happy travels😊
Thanks so much for watching and for the kind words! Hope you guys have the best time! Bar Harbor is so beautiful! End of May will be a great time to be there. There are a lot of short, and not dangerous hikes that are just as beautiful and cool! Highly recommend the South Bubble hike. It's so easy and a smooth Trek up to beautiful views
@@JamesandMeg we will definitely try that one!
I loved both parts of this trip to Bar Harbor! I would not have done the Precipice trail. Whew! That looked scary and I used to rock climb in my 20s. I was hoping you guys had a video for Boston but I dont see one. Our trip this summer will be to Bar Harbor/Acadia and then down to Boston. Did you do a video there and I just missed it? thanks again! I have to go do Travellin Lobster!
Thanks so much for watching! The Precipice Trail was definitely the most dangerous one we've ever done. But the views were definitely worth it! We did go down to Boston at the end of the Salem video. We were only there for a couple hours and had to get over to NYC. We want to go back and explore more extensively though because it is very beautiful from what we saw. Thank you again for watching!
Heading there this September, but definitely can't take the dog on this one..lol
Definitely not! But it does have some great dog friendly hikes! South Bubble is doable for sure!
Come to Michigan and do the hiking, Mt biking and see the U.P. and Mackinac Island. Can give you a local tour!
We would love to! We've actually heard around the lake there are some incredible places and towns!
Yeah, look up the sleeping bear dunes area with the dune climb hike (bring water), traverse city, Petoskey, Mackinac Island, and pictured rocks. It's in the northern Michigan area.
Grand rapids, Kalamazoo, South haven, Warren dunes and Ann Arbor are cool too.
Love all of your videos!! I'm binging right now!! Can I ask a question... when was your trip? It looks like fall, but what were the dates when you were there. Thank you!!
Thanks so much for watching! Our trip was from Oct 11-23. It was a 2 weeks trip, but the Vermont, NH, & Maine videos are from Oct 11 - 18. I would recommend maybe a week sooner for perfect timing on Leaves. We were kind of in the middle & missed some peak in New Hampshire
If you want to visit maine
You have to accept that fog will happen and that its part of the charm.
And fog happens at any time of year, at any point during the day.
Nice to know! We didn’t realize that! We will be back soon so we won’t be as surprised by it as we were this time. Thanks for watching! 🧡
What shop did you get the steal on that hoodie?? We're heading there in a couple of weeks!
Honestly, I can't remember where we got it. It was in one of the random stores downtown. A lot of the places had deals going on because middle of October is basically the end of the year for them. There should be some good shopping available when you guys are there!
