- On this National Pizza Day, there's no question that Connecticut takes the cake...or the slice...for some of the best pizza around! People travel from all over the country and world to New Haven for a slice.
The tradition and tourism all started with the big three pizza pillars, Frank Pepe's, Sally's Apizza, and Modern Apizza... with one of them leading the way.
"To look at today, it blows me out of the water," said Jennifer Kelly, Co-owner of Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana, who is also one of Frank Pepe's grandchildren.

When she said love and respect, it brought a tear to my eye. No corporation could ever, ever do that.
everyone knows the rules
my hometown where is my pizza
one bite ❤
New Haven pizza is unique. Thin crust, sauce & cheese & charred crust. The crust is really what makes a good pizza. Born & raised in CT, the pizza belt 😋🍕
❤Thanks ♥️ That's basically what I was getting by seeing it on the video, but your description really helps me understand why it's different. I'm here in Pennsylvania, and New York style thin crust pizza is the norm, but we have some Wood-Fired pizzas which are a little bit smaller and a little bit thicker, so New Haven Pizza looked like a thin crust Wood-Fired pizza to me, I definitely want to try making it!!
New Haven style is really unique. You will love it. You are not too far from New Haven, so maybe you can try it sometime. @@christanice
That told me absolutely nothing about New Haven pizza...
It's a secret. LOL. It's similar to NY-style and Trenton 'tomato pie'. Tends to have thin crispy crust. Simple sauce. And actually, traditional style, you have to ask for them to put mozzarella on it. They top the traditional more like a Sicilian sfincione or cudduruni.
New haven style is the best style of pizza ever
Oh shes such a thirst trap
New Haven is the best for the pizza. But New Haven doesn't take care of the people who live in New Haven. The city people do not take care of the people who live there. Their restaurants always do well by their customers no matter if they're rich Or poor they always do right by them.
