Thanks for your video! Though I missed some practical steps to “get there” this video helped me doing the job myself. Saved myself 300 euros by ordering a 30 euro part. I have a left hand drive duster 2 from 2018, it is located indeed just above (like 25 cm above) the gas pedal. My screw was missing already, so that tells me the part has been replaced before… made the job easier for me though 😊. Anyway: be aware I have manual airco, that requires a different part then cars with automatic/ climate control systems. Just make sure you get the right part. I was done within 30 minutes, researching on the internet took me about 3 hours. 😂
Thanks for this video, I just did this on my 2018 Dacia Duster LHD, i am far from a mechanic, it was quite tricky but my fan works again! Very happy it worked!
Just done this on a 2019 RHD. It was made much easier by removing the glove compartment first. Still tricky but you don't have to lay on your back and work upwards. I purchased some replacement thermal fuses on eBay and soldered it on while an assistant held ice on the fuse. It worked! Held the T20 screw in place with a dab of universal glue on the end of the driver.
Great video. Thanks! I just did this in Dacia Logan MCV year 2011. One thing I did extra is to remove the driver seat, so I could lay more comfortably on my back while fiddling under the dashboard. Fiddling is the right word as I had to file the opening a bit - the replacement part was just a tiny bit wider.
Cheers from France, exactly what I was looking for with all the details about the fuse I would have probably bought and blew in seconds with the soldering iron. Thank you very much ! I don't know anything about cars but this I can probably get it done.
My Duster has the problem that the aircon works in position 1, (pump works, pressure is good) light on the switch works. but when you switch to position 2 or 3 or 4 the light on the switch goes out, pump stops.... but the blower motor stil works fine (all positions) I saw in your video that your aircon switch/light does the same... works in position 1, stops in 2, 3, 4. I got the connector of the resistor, and then it works exactly the same as in your video.... any thoughts? fyi panel has been replaced already (switch en controls)
Do you think the thing have to be installed to keep the position 4 of the ventilation working ? pos 4 is noisy but useful =) I wonder if I take it out to check if I have the same reference and order a new one I'll have to put it back while the I get the order shipped home.
I don’t know. You could try just disconnecting the plug and see if position 4 still works. If it does then you know you can remove the resistor and still have a fan :)
@@newlifemarine1476 Good idea, my life depends on position 4. Can't wait to get back on pole position because the funny thing is that AC is on while on pos 1 2 3 but the cool air don't blow into the cockpit until I put pos 4 ... which stop the AC...
Trrmoelem, must be 216 *C plus some prodcer in factory made bad cooer wire belove end all its werry easy or new rezistor,,,but the gears on fan ir wentilator must ti be cleaned end lubricated ,,,wd 40 or some little oil ...ewend in ader cars its similar
Hi Neil, I’m really sorry but I don’t. I know the Duster 2 uses a different style of resistor, and it is also located in the fan air stream (plenum) as the air flow acts as a coolant for the resistor. I’m afraid I don’t know exactly where it’s located though. Depending on how double jointed you are it’s very likely that it will be visible from your passenger side footwell if you remove the trim and look up and inboard at the hvac assembly in there. I’m sorry I can’t be more specific!
My car is Dacia Logan mcv 2, year 2014. The resistor is little different code " 271509981R " . Do you know is it approximately in the same place than resistor on your video?
@newlifemarine1476 we thought yesterday we had a mouse in the fan. Later, I tried the fan again, and 1-3 was not working, only 4, so yes, I now know where the resistore is, thanks
@newlifemarine1476 Yes, I replaced it. It costed with postage 35€. Exactly as you described, awkward acces, i built a bed next to the door at the same height as the sill (pallets). Everything went well. Getting the screw back in, however, needed that last big bit of patience , job done. Thanks.

Hi mate, did everything stop working altogether before you changed it?
Hi, well i had exactly what is shown in the video

Hi, did you use the same part number? And was it same location? I got the same issue and 2018 Duster model LHD. Thanks

Thank you for this vidéo, i was looking for where was this stuff to fix it ! Thanks to your help, it's done ! 👍👍
Thanks a lot for this video :) It has been very helpful (just plugged the new piece in place today...and it works !)
Incredible video!
They charge around 3K pounds in Sweden to exchange this at the mechanic 😮
I have a 21 plate sandero. I have no fans on any speeds. All dead. Any thoughts?
Same, except I have a 2015 Dacia Logan MCV, and the "AC" button light ait glowing.. I checked the fuses but they're intact.

Position 4 does work without the resistor. Just removed mine thanks to this video and it still works. Hope I can get the new one in 😬

Have you a video of this on a Dacia Duster 2019? (Right-hand drive) - would pay for a video of how to replace the resistor/unit of that.

I believe it is, yes.
Ok thank you, that was goog video.
so, no reference to where the fan is apart from a bit of carpet on the table.
No, because this video isn’t about the fan.
I do show you where the resistor is located though.

Presume this was RHD car?
LHD. We live in Greece.
Thank You!
