Iron Mike Sharpe was a great old school heel. He talked trash, worked the crowd, and he was great at selling. He was perfectly used to put over up and coming faces in the early to mid 80s.
Not only a trainer He owned and operated a wrestling school around the corner from my house in Brick NJ.Solid guy,I spent lots of time there in my youth.
Little known fact, Bob Clement was originally slated to win the wwf title in early 1984, but turned it down to work at Radio Shack in Cherry Hill, NJ. That spot eventually went to at the time a little known wrestler, Hulk Hogan.
At this time they would have him beat other jobbers pretty often and so it would seem more impressive when he lost against new babyface stars. They did the same with SD Jones against new heel stars. Sharpe left and came back later in the 80s, and in that run he lost pretty much all the time.
I love how Iron Mike Sharpe would get the crowd going by acting upset when he was heckled. He really knew what buttons to push.
That was his job and he did it well. Not only was he an excellent wrestler, he was an excellent actor! So sad that he departed so early.
If you really want to see him get worked up, just shake his hand...

Big upset win for Iron Mike. Bob Clement was a tough competitor who held titles around the world

One of the best jobbers ever as he could give the stars a real match unlike sylvana Souza.Even the fans loved to hassle him.
Interesting how over Sharpe was here

They should have held a ' King 🤴 Jobber of the Ring 💍 ✨️ '. My favorites would have been Iron-Mike, Barry Horowitz, and the Brooklyn Brawler. 😊🎉
Iron-Mike Sharpe should have had himself introduced as ' Canada's National Treasure!! 😊😅
