I remember Iron Mike Sharpe getting a push in 1983-84 WWF/E, but after that he got relegated to jobber status until the very end. I thought he was good and his gimmick (the forearm brace) was simple and effective. Sharpe should have been a solid mid-card heel IMHO.

Met Mike in the 90's at the recreation center I was working in. A bunch of the WWF vets came, for a great card. Brutus Beefake, Greg The Hammer V, Junkyard Dog, Sheik and Volkoff, KoKo B. Ware, to name a few.
I was at the front door when Mike Sharpe showed up. I did not recognize him at first. He had sandy gray hair was walking like a hunchback. He came up to me and said "Hi, I'm Mike Shapre, where are your showers? Got a match tonight."
I damn near freaked out. I yelled "IRON MIKE SHARPE" and he laughed and asked my name.
I showed him the shower and dressing room area.
Didn't see him, till his match. When he was announced, the place exploded and he came running out with pitch black hair, the black tarzan type top and the arm band. Came out yelling his head off at everyone. I was in total awe. He ran passed me and yelled "THE SHOWER WATER WAS COLD, WHY I OUTTA!!!!!!!!!!" LMFAOOOOO. The transformation was incredible. But I also got the feeling he was quite tired of the road.
He looked exhausted when he showed up and he literally ate half of the catered food, LOL.
He signed everything for me, got 28 pictures together. He was a gem. I truly miss that guy and all the other old school wrestlers who gone to that big ring, in the sky.

Asking for the showers. He was a clean freak and showered for hours before and after a match. I loved his character always yelling at everyone even if he was being nice

Sharpe was very entertaining imo. I used to love hearing his interviews. Real good in the ring, grunting and always angry. Never took a match off, sold every hit or move put in him etc.... You needed guys like this in wrestling

Talk about good old days. 50k as retirement money. I think we are all hammering the wrong folks around here. lol. A great worker from what the stories are told. Always had that yell about him as well. "bellowing bull" I think I recall hearing once.
