I love him. This should have been in the film because he sings so well, and puts all those critics to shame. A talented , handsome and lovely man. He put s his soul into every part he plays. I hope he gets all the recognition he truly deserves.
This is such a touching, beautiful scene that should have been in the movie. The lyrics just want to make you cry even more for him. I recently sent away for the CD from the movie just to hear him sing, even though this song or scene is not in the movie or CD. What were they thinking?! This is just beautiful. This was just a gorgeous movie to watch.
He's so sweet, sensitive and romantic, my heart melts...No one could ever sing this better than our dear Gerry, hes just amazing...ITs his song completely....I want to be the rose he brings close to his face....Kisses for Erik......:)
i love this song and gerard. i used to not like gerard that much, but now i love him. hes so handsome. i wish this was still in the movie. it brings out more of the phantom than there was in the movie.
Raoul is too Magoo. THis guy, the Phantom, mm, soothes my soul. WHY did she settle for sweet, innocent, Raoul, when she could have had a REAL man. My heart goes out to him.
Before or after Masquerade, because he has the red cape in the chair and the death's mask on his desk. So beautiful song!!! We can see how sensitive the phantom is!!!!!!
Gerry is the most gorgeous man on the planet..even when he is deformed as the phantom..he is just even more sexy...no contest for me..Raoul would lose out...beautiful voice..fantastic film and no-one else will ever be the phantom for me
I really wish they had put this in the movie! This is the first time I heard it sung and I just loved it! :-) I LOVE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA and I ADORE Gerard Butler! His voice is amazing!!!!!!!!!!
i know well enough how it feels like to be lonly i have syndrom of down and i did not ask for it poeple are looking at me and sees a monster and i know i am not a monster its very very lonley to be somone like me het aslof ik misvormed ben
i love this scene---we have the 2 disc. if they'd included it in the movie i could have bought the song, too bad. we've seen Phantom in LA with M. Crawford and couple of weeks ago in NY with Howard McGillin (sp?) and they were both excellent, but G Butler really does this well, perhaps the most sympathetic and heartbreaking Phantom. Thought the whole movie very well done.
Totally agree with you ! This song is so beautiful and really shows off the softer side of the phantom, which was definitely neglected in the movie... and my lordi, that voice !
I always loved this song..But seeing the video to it..made me cry. I love the phantom and would give anything to play Christine one last time. My high school put this on as our play of the year and I was casted as Christine. Never made it passed school though. -cry-
omg dis is soooo amazin why aint this on the dvd its so touchin!!!!! they could hav at least put it as an extra or easter egg or something im cryin 4 him
aahhh! i almost cried!!! ill listen, erik! I WILL!!!! jessickam, you just sumed up every single thought going through my head right now with four simple words!
I think this song should have been kept in the movie as well. Sure, his voice may not be as strong in this as the other songs... but it shows the softer side of the phantom. It shows that he truly is lonely, sad, and has suffered... that he isnt just some monster driven by rage.
I do love watching it after watching the movie and the other special features a bazillion times. I like the part in the making of the musical where they're talking about how they can tell where they are in the world by how fast the chandalier falls. It's funny.
yes. the 2nd disc features this as "additional scene", and "making of" featuretttes. enjoyed it, and i don't always watch the 2nd disc with other movies.
i agree this should have been in the movie i love this song and the movie im gonna see it in spokane next year agian ive wtached it so many times when it frist came out!
this is sooooo beautiful i searched for the song everywhere but i didn't find it :( i liked it so much thank you for posting it cause i didn't know there is a beautiful song like that :)
I don't remember if I commented already, but...yeah... *crys* I love that song!! The lyrics are taped to my math folder, it gets me through the class. lol Poor Erik. :'-(
@ZeldaTopia I ABSOLUTELY agree wirth you! They didnt want the phantom to be seen as having real feelings and being so sensitive...But even without it in the film, Gerry makes us all love him and cry for him, and totally NOT understand how C could treat him so heartlessly! So it didnt work! And he sings this so beautifully - its a REAL SHAME it wasnt left in....
imma big POTO fan, and out of all the phantoms and versions, this is my favorite, cuz he's a bit different from the other phantoms, and its my fav storyline ~
I cry a lot every time I watch this movie; it's beautiful and touching. It even reminds me of myself when I was young. I know this is a deleted scene but when was it supposed to take place? After the masquerade or what?
i have fallen in love with this scene. It makes the phantom seem so human. I bet that's why they cut this scene- so it didn't make the phantom seem the 'goodie'. Anyway, he is the good guy to me.
It's so sad that they cut this sequence from the movie. It's such a beautiful song, and one of the best recordings of Gerard's singing in my opinion. I wish they had added this as an extra track on the soundtrack!
This is after he writes Don Juan Triumphant because that's the play on his model of the stage. I think this could have gone somewhere between We Have All Been Blind and Don Juan. He kind of looks like he's thinking about something and, judging by the model, I think he's debating whether or not he should go through with "filling in" for Piangi.
Beautiful. I love The Phantom of The Opera, it's the best musical ever, but so sad, so incredible sad :_( But I still love it :) Thank you for sharing this video, I had not seen it before
Aww they should have put this in the movie it would have showcased his lonliness and what lead up to his downfall. It would have explained his character for those who could not understand his character
Yeah people i didnt know this till later, if any of you lot have the dvd, take the second disc, select the movie and in the bottom left hand corner it has this scene in it, i didnt realise until recently, i kept wondering ' why is there this box?' hehe. Love the film, so passionate and heartfelt and touching, Emmy Rossum/Gerard Butler are phanominal and should date, they will be the Phantom and Christine forever. N2i2c2k2y aka Nicole
yeah it does suck that they cut this out of the movie. It not only makes the Phantom more human but it makes him seem more misunderstood instead of just insane or evil.
I totally agree with you but Johnny Depp used to be in a band as a teenager and I believe he has some extra experience. and also don't forget that Gerry made sm more difficult than Johnny.Singing opera is really difficult
It's on the special edition 2-disc DVD, I'm not sure about the regular version, though. And they cut it out "for pacing reasons". I guess they thought the movie was dragging too much there and so they cut it out. I really wish they didn't =)
I love him. This should have been in the film because he sings so well, and puts all those critics to shame. A talented , handsome and lovely man. He put s his soul into every part he plays. I hope he gets all the recognition he truly deserves.
i hope so

BEAUTIFUL Song - BEAUTIFUL Scene... The Movie was definitely a Modern Triumph!

I LOVE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA and I ADORE Gerard Butler! His voice is amazing!!!!!!!!!!
OK!!! I can not stop watching this. So hauntingly beautiful. I think his voice is amazing. Of course he is quite a specimen
This really gives you a sense of how lonely and truly human the Phantom is.
i know well enough how it feels like to be lonly i have syndrom of down and i did not ask for it poeple are looking at me and sees a monster and i know i am not a monster its very very lonley to be somone like me het aslof ik misvormed ben

I have never heard this song before and I didn't know that this piece of the film exist! It's beautiful! I'm sorry it had been removed from the film.
This should have been in the movie :'( It's so emotional and moving.
He has such an amazing voice.
Totally agree with you !
This song is so beautiful and really shows off the softer side of the phantom, which was definitely neglected in the movie...
and my lordi, that voice !
You can hear him crying at the end...
Beautiful song! Beautifully acted! It brings us an insight into his character that I, for one, was needing to see!
OMG i've completely refallen in love with this movie and with gerry! why isn't this in the dvd???? LOVE IT!
I always loved this song..But seeing the video to it..made me cry. I love the phantom and would give anything to play Christine one last time. My high school put this on as our play of the year and I was casted as Christine. Never made it passed school though. -cry-
Gorgeous song...it really shows the softer, vulnerable side of the Phantom.
彼の繊細で優しい一面がクリスティーヌを護り慈しみ導いた良き先生でもある一面を思い出させてくれる曲だね。
this movie never fails to make me cry..i love the phantom!
i love this song, it makes me cry because it is so beautiful

I think this song should have been kept in the movie as well. Sure, his voice may not be as strong in this as the other songs... but it shows the softer side of the phantom. It shows that he truly is lonely, sad, and has suffered... that he isnt just some monster driven by rage.

I do love watching it after watching the movie and the other special features a bazillion times. I like the part in the making of the musical where they're talking about how they can tell where they are in the world by how fast the chandalier falls. It's funny.
I love G.B. as phantom, his voice is fantastic, full of passion!!!
But that is what makes Gerard Butler such an amazing actor, that he can do this and do "300" and be SO different in the roles. That is a REAL talent.
yes. the 2nd disc features this as "additional scene", and "making of" featuretttes. enjoyed it, and i don't always watch the 2nd disc with other movies.
i absolutely love this song ....
i agree this should have been in the movie i love this song and the movie im gonna see it in spokane next year agian ive wtached it so many times when it frist came out!

Underneath the Paris opera house are a whole bunch of tunnels like this. Check out the special features on the DVD
imma big POTO fan, and out of all the phantoms and versions, this is my favorite, cuz he's a bit different from the other phantoms, and its my fav storyline ~

i have fallen in love with this scene. It makes the phantom seem so human. I bet that's why they cut this scene- so it didn't make the phantom seem the 'goodie'. Anyway, he is the good guy to me.
@RainbowFirebird If you buy the dvd 2-disc set, the disc with ''extras'' on has it.
WoW, I didn't know he sang, i saw him in 300 and that's the 1st time I saw him. Very talented...=)
It's so sad that they cut this sequence from the movie. It's such a beautiful song, and one of the best recordings of Gerard's singing in my opinion. I wish they had added this as an extra track on the soundtrack!
Love this music.
good grief..when i first saw this i sobbed...why did they cut it out its beautiful
This is after he writes Don Juan Triumphant because that's the play on his model of the stage. I think this could have gone somewhere between We Have All Been Blind and Don Juan. Why was this not in the movie? It is one of my favorite scenes and songs...just so tender and heartbreaking.
omg i so love this song they should have put this in the movie
Bonus songs are awesome
Aww they should have put this in the movie it would have showcased his lonliness and what lead up to his downfall. It would have explained his character for those who could not understand his character
This song was what made the story make sense.
simply awesome !
thats because they cut this out of the movie, but its on the extras (the second dvd if you have the 2-dics)
@babyboobookieboo95 You're right about the tune. I wonder why the film crew cut this out.....
I so agree! With everything! I wonder which part of the movie this was in before they cut it out?
Yeah people i didnt know this till later, if any of you lot have the dvd, take the second disc, select the movie and in the bottom left hand corner it has this scene in it, i didnt realise until recently, i kept wondering ' why is there this box?' hehe. Love the film, so passionate and heartfelt and touching, Emmy Rossum/Gerard Butler are phanominal and should date, they will be the Phantom and Christine forever.

Lovely song!!!
Here is so sad and alone! Poor phantom!!

Mon Dieu... this made me cry... I think I am hopelessly in love with Erik...
yeah it does suck that they cut this out of the movie. It not only makes the Phantom more human but it makes him seem more misunderstood instead of just insane or evil.
its really too bad that they didnt put this in the movie this song is so heart felt Gerard Butler did an excellent job as the phantom
I totally agree with you but Johnny Depp used to be in a band as a teenager and I believe he has some extra experience. and also don't forget that Gerry made sm more difficult than Johnny.Singing opera is really difficult
Breathless!!!
this melody is in some parts of the movie if tyou listen closely
love this song sang it in school
It's on the special edition 2-disc DVD, I'm not sure about the regular version, though. And they cut it out "for pacing reasons". I guess they thought the movie was dragging too much there and so they cut it out. I really wish they didn't =)
It's really interesting to know this same guy is the bearded warrior-king in 300. Gerard's is THE MAN!!!
Hm...birdsshouldfly, I think you're right. It does seem to make a bit more sense for it to be there than where I thought it was.
If you have the 2 disc DVD it's a hidden extra on the 2nd disc
