Hey, love your channel, im currently on a journey to work towards being a hybrid athlete.. how would you say it should differ it fat loss is one of your goals? Im lifting alongside tri training atm, but eating in a hefty deficit as I also need to loose weight (230lbs @ a stocky 5'7)
Love the channel and all the hybrid athlete content. How would you gauge how many cals to eat back to maintain muscle mass when doing a CrossFit style, 21-15-9 workout?
Slowly add in some zone 2 work, and some higher intensity intervals alongside your current programming for a couple of months, if you find that it’s tanking you/struggling to recover than taper back some of the volume from the original programming to see how that affects your outputs! But my number 1 piece of advice would be to get a coach to manage it for you!
Currently doing BJJ, Powerlifting and now I want to get into Endurance. I’m 5’10 185. How much running mileage should I add in per week without going overboard? Love this channel.
Good man! And thank you - appreciate it! Best place to start is to add in some steady zone2 runs at a low mileage and then add to this each week as feels comfortable! There’s isn’t a ‘best place to start’ as we’re all very individual, and depends on your training in the disciplines you’ve mentioned. So in simple terms, add a little, see how it feels, add a little more, see how it feels - repeat until you’re chasing down Kipchoge to arm bar him!
Top end will have done a little yes! But Bench is currently better than it was (due to no swimming volume logic says), squats are feeling solid and back to 90% capacity, deadlifts I honestly couldn’t say at the moment as I haven’t pulled over 200kg since April 2020! But generally speaking no, it’s just requiring a more focused, specific training period and I’ll be back to similar numbers! Worth mentioning I’ve never stopped lifting heavy even with the endurance focus, and I squatted 200x3 the week before Project Vertical so it’s more down to recovering from the event itself than it has been how my training has changed - if that makes sense?
@@ferguscrawley95 I would personally like to see more lifting oriented videos from you. I consider myself a hybrid athlete as well but I lean more towards the weights. I can’t post what I do for a living here but it’s very active. Please put forth a few more powerlifting videos if you have time.

Your channel is gonna blow up, great content!
Well done mate happy to see you back to endurance training after Project Vertical 💪
Thanks dude! Good to be back! Time to send it 👀
Yes Ferg!
Great vid an awesome example of having a job and being a hybrid athlete
You’re such an inspiration and your dogs are so cute
Thank you! I can confirm, they are.
Class video - can’t wait to be back in Scotland to give this route a shot!
Great Video man. You just got a new sub 👌
Great content man! Keep going, youre an inspiration

man, that sushi counter in Morningside was THE BOMB
It bangs eh.
20 miles... jheeeeeze, running is tough, especially when carrying some muscle mass.
In fairness, most of it is in my legs (M T-shirt right now in some brands 👀) so at least the majority of it is closer to the floor 😂
@@ferguscrawley95 how tall are you and how much do you weigh ? Great content btw
@@pjafeuerbach8060 thanks man! I’m 182cm and 205lbs 🤙🏼
Good work mate. Interested in sailing in my own macros, so you offer plans?
What coffee machine is that? Do you recommend it? Great video as always!
Is it normal for the nose to run in the cold?

Ice cream beer this is how it should be all balanced
@Fergus Crawley how would you advise someone who wants to become a hybrid athlete start?

Have your lifts taken a big hit after focusing on all the endurance work as of late?

Yeah it does! Savage stuff, unreal 👍
that sushi platter looks amazing
oh don't mind me, I'm currently on a water and coffee diet
How does the running effect your lifting? It’s appears you are a runner who lifts sometimes. Does that really qualify as a hybrid athlete?
I can squat and deadlift around 240kg at 90kg BW. Best PL total is 687.5kg.

Lol. He's 1 of 2 people on the planet to have squatted 500lbs and ran a sub 5 min mile in the same day - you seem to be a poor judge of appearance.

@@ftravis6840 So you’re saying every person who has accomplished that who didn’t record it never really accomplished it?
5 adverts in an 18 min video is off putting, might help the subs if you take the hit on monetising content short term
