First of all, I am not a Ryan basher. I've followed him for a long time and I agree with his takes on Madden. The game is terrible and it should be much better.
Secondly, I am just honest. I am just calling what I saw. Everyone can make a mistake. On this play, with the player models, and the college style numbering system, I can see how somebody could make a mistake on that. I didn't catch it right away. I had to watch it a couple of times because I wanted to see if it was the RT or RG that made the error. At first, I thought it was the TE. After being able to see the player's number of #13, I was then able to see where he lined up pre snap and then study the play. Clearly, it is the HB on a delay route. He did what he was supposed to do. Went out, either tried to engage a block or at least fake like he was just in as a max pro, and then he leaks out if the play starts to break down. He did that, but, he shouldn't have ran right into the QB.
I am not saying the play was a good one. It was still glitchy and needs work. I am also not bashing on Ryan. I am just calling what I saw.

I would much rather them push back the date and get it right then release it "on time" and it be broken. Them pushing it back like this isnt a negative on their part yet. I dont understand the conclusion you draw from this. Its an indie studio you have to remember. Now if its 2025-2026 and theres still no light at the end of the tunnel then i would be worried. First impressions are everything. If the game releases unpolished a lot of people will never give the series another chance

One of the main criticisms of Madden is that EA prioritizes profit and annual release dates over a quality product. Which leads to a broken mess on launch.
Maximum is prioritizing a quality product over a release date. I think that’s great and speaks to them having the right priorities.
So I’m fine with the delay. Take your time, get it right, release it when it’s ready.
So, love ya Moody, but I disagree with you on this one. The delay is disappointing, but I think they should be applauded for prioritizing quality over rushing out a game that they didn’t feel was ready or up to their standards. EA would have done the opposite.
So my trust isn’t eroded. If anything it makes me feel confident the devs of Maximum care about the quality of both the game and our experience playing it when it is released.
We’ll get it when it’s ready, not when it’s half-assed and rushed, and I’m fine with that.
I dont disagree with what you are saying - but as you said - we can only really "applaud a company for prioritizing quality" when that is the result. If this game released like this - 6 months from now - then what can we point back and cite the delay was for.

It’s so cliche to say “they’re delaying to make the game better” but yet cyberpunk delayed how many times before putting out that disaster they had at launch? That’s just one of many examples in gaming. No matter how you contextualize this, this is their 2nd time not being able to meet a deadline they set. That’s not the sign of a well developed game or reliable gaming company.
@@reese5545 Cyberpunk went through a number of re-writes. Especially when the devs and writers heard Keanu Reeves was being brought on as a character. Thats a bit different than finding some issues and needing more time to fix.

I’m just choosing to give them the benefit of the doubt until then. They’ve seemed to have had the right intentions with this game up until now, so I’ll take them at their word that the delay is to develop the game further to get it to a high quality standard.
Now, if more and more delays keep coming with only vague explanations or like you said, it releases in half a year and there’s little to no improvement from what it is now, then I will definitely lose faith in them and how they operate.
Until then I’m taking the innocent until proven guilty approach and keeping my fingers crossed that their being straight with us. Time will tell.

This could end up like axis where's they are releasing just to release and the game takes longer to actually get good.
Id rather then do this, the new boxing game got pushed back a few times, but because they did it, the game has gotten technically sound.
The game is at this level now, it will be even better in the long run. Madden has 30+ years of experience and their game does stuff like the negatives in this video.

I think you need to stop posting Maximum Football videos until they can prove they are tracking towards a realistic release date before next season starts. Don't set yourself up for another angry response if they delay it again... too soon for a game that could end up like Cyberpunk, teased and teased and teased with an actual release date years later.

I would love to sit dow as ask game developers just out of pure curiosity, what exactly is the the challenge of creating well programmed and functioning games to released as a finished product on modern hardware whereas in the past with less advanced hardware we were able to get a whole generation of good polished, finished games. Again this is just genuine curiosity
It's complicated. Unreal Engine has become bloated with so many tech that's it's getting quite hard to keep up to date with all the new "next-gen" plugins and features. Not to mention this tech stack increases each iteration (just look at the difference between 5.0 and 5.1.). On the other hand, demands and expectations for games have become extremely huge. The attention to detail, features, and graphics, players expect have skyrocketed since the older games. As a dev myself, I loved the simplicity of older games.

The game was built in an entirely different engine than the old maximum football. I don’t think it’s possible for any of David Winters code to be in this game.

@@1Maverick2 My typing didn't stutter. While they updated the graphics to at least look passable now, the core problem was the coding of the game. In the gameplay footage I have seen, the same problems still exist with pass coverage. If you have a decently fast WR, all he has to do is run a fly, the DB either can't cover him, or will cover him and never make a play on the ball, the WR wins all the time.
obviously a work in progress but it does have loads of potential and hopefully sooner rather than later they will add a franchise mode (preferably in the same experience as dynasty so that you can go from college to nfl and back to college as a coach...)
example of this is a college coach promoting to an nfl head coach (such as kliff kingsbury) and then getting fired and heading back to college as an assistant coach of some sort... The potential would be unlimited

Secondary logic is sooo crucial. That's the#1 gripe I've always had with madden amongst other things.
Just give us the damn customization studio, at least give us that. Let us create now play later.
I feel like you can't knock them for delaying the date again if they feel they aren't ready... You want a complete and polished, true to life football game but, yet you're mad at them for delaying it because they feel it isn't ready and questioning if they're able to produce one. Give 'em a break and some time, would you rather have an unfinished product that they release or a couple delays because they're working toward something they can be proud of.
You can't honestly look at this game and think it's gonna get much better. It doesn't even look good

Yeah. I like the message at the end. Modus must trust the ppl they are looking to get paid from. If not, they're just another EA and frauds the customer while getting a check from from some bigger entity. They can actually make a lot of money from the community if they plan it right.

At this point, I’m just ready for EA college football game to come out I think maximum football is riding the fence way too close to EA’S college football game coming out next year and if I had to put my honest opinion, I think that game would be far better than maximum football and I definitely think I have the college community. That’s been waiting for a college game to drop will most likely. Drift towards more.EA’S college football games in maximums. Love the channel. Keep us updated.
I'd be very weary of EA's NCAA Football game... wait and see approach is best for that one. If it's actually good, ten I'll pick it up at a discount. If not? The I'll be glad to have waited to see it. Win-win either way.
But I don’t think we should be bashing on any college game. In my opinion we don’t know what EA‘s college football is going to look like, but I’m glad they’re taking their time with it. That way they can get a nice product out to the consumers just like maximum football is doing, I definitely feel like we should be giving both games some love and not always being concerned about both or either or I say support both
Looks like they fixed the QB sliding around when they drop back. This is much more natural than the last one we saw, it looks good. Im sure they will smooth the line out. I am really interested to see the type of reception this game gets. Im sure they (Invictus) understand that since they don’t have actual players in the game that the game play has to be really good. If this game indeed has great game play, do you think it would be enough for the NFL to start allowing other companies make games? I mean Madden24 has a MetaCritic user score of I think 2. When was the last time they even had a 5? 9 years ago? I am really interested to see if this game can move the needle in terms of the NFL looking elsewhere. Or if MUT, the name “Madden” and the money that comes from that is all that matters.

Dear lord - the game looks damn near exactly as it did when I play tested it towards the end of last year. The problems were plentiful and quite frankly the issues that need to be fixed are a lot more than just a few simple slider changes or code changes. The game suffers from a number of issues that, from what I have seen, aren't able to be corrected because of the foundation on which they built the game on. It is very similar to the problem Madden has been dealing with since they moved from the engine that fueled the last great game they made which was Madden 2008 (and several subsequent iterations as well, I just stopped at 2008 because I played on PC). I really hope I am wrong but if this is the latest and greatest gameplay.... be prepared to be disappointed.

I completely understand people having issues with Madden, but just because we have a lazy football game in Madden doesn't mean by default alternatives are better. Even after all of this time. This game looks terrible IMO. The WR run so fast after they catch the ball. It looks like an arcade game. The players all move so fast on the field, like they're sliding on ice. This game looks difficult to play. Not because of the A.I but because of the gameplay.
Honestly if it’s coming out in 2024 they can put it up cause ncaa comes out summer 2024 there’s no use you’ll have what maybe a 3 month gap until everyone ditches you got the new ncaa honestly bad timing
Will say when I did give some feed back on the pocket forming and also the QB having kind of a unnatural sliding instead of planting feel/motion they were very respective and keen on focusing on a lot of other areas and I hope the running animations get tweaked a smidge , for the most part the tackling physics showing promise with UE5 so delay definitely a bummer but if they know what they’re doing I’ll leave em to it. But yeah at this point it’s 2024 or bust.
Developers already stated that the QB pocket animations aren't all in the game, yet.

I get it, but it cant be spinning around - needs to be dropping back. Cant look at the QB while his still in the pocket. Madden has this same issue.
At this point I no longer expect to ever experience a respectable Football game in terms of authentic gameplay. Im at the point of simply wanting a game similar to NFL Headcoach 09.
Smh....I just want an updated NCAA or something off brand so I can recruit, build my team up to be #1. Is that so much to ask!?!?. With the whole OL deal. I dont feel like it's something that can ever be "fixed" but if my OT has 75+ acceleration especially a generational talent that has 80+ acceleration, 70 speed. Nobody should blow by him. Fix that & I'm good!

I'm gonna keep being positive and still choose to remain glass half full with this game and developer. There were other gameplay clips they released with this, can find them on Reddit, and they still look tight. Micah also put out a tweet that the delay is because of them putting in a lot of community requested features that were not originally intended to be in the game.
I can understand the cynicism, I really can, because of the way EA handles the Madden franchise, and moving forward, let's be honest, more than likely the College Football games too BUT I don't think that we should be complaining about Modus delaying the game and then turning around and complaining that the gameplay still doesn't look 100% there. Because if the gameplay isn't there yet than wouldn't a delay be a good thing? If they released it now, then the narrative would've changed and everyone would be saying they should've delayed the game to polish it more. I think even if the game is 80% there now and the delay still only gets it to around 95% I still think that would be a win and they would feel more comfortable putting it out for the public and they can do standard updates moving forward.
Now I will agree that this is the last delay that I think they can or will do. I do think they are aware this is a make or break time considering they will be releasing closer to the CF 24 coming out, and now competing with 2 EA football games, and they have to put this game out next year in 2024. If I had to make a prediction I'd say delay till Q1 2024, do the early access in the March/April range like that were going to do this year, and release the game sometime mid-summer to early fall. And if you want more communication about the game during this next delay I highly suggest following their social media pages, discord channel, and Reddit.

Who else is excited for NFL 2K? It may not have a simulation football license like Madden, but I can't wait to play any football game other than Madden. If the game is really good, I may spend a few dollars on micro transactions to support the game regardless of how much I hate micro transactions. I know a lot of you won't like me doing that, but good and hard work must be rewarded.

Maybe, maybe not. It does depend on the quality of the game. It just may surprise everyone. We'll just have to wait and see. I'm keep my eye on Maximum Football for now.

To me you still have choppy animations and the same legacy issues.
I sincerely hope they get their act together and make an actual competitive challenge to Madden. I am still going to give it a fair play if/when it finally comes out. I have said this all along. It can't be lauded just for not being Madden. It has to actually be better than Madden at the things Madden gets wrong. So far, they are well behind.
