I would buy it because I would love to have another game to choose from, but 2k8 was an average football game. Definitely not the holy grail of football games.
EA never focuses on the football, and instead focuses on the flare.
This is why no one can truly say “I’m good at madden”. The so called skill you have is based on lucky animations
And there is always plays that completely bamboozle cpu controlled defenders. And they work every time. Running PA crossers or whatever the broken play of the year is. That is not skill.
You can say you're good at Madden, but it really means you're good at exploiting the broken AI lmao

That quote from Clint actually infuriates me. They knew the game was bad, they knew the game was the same broken mess from last year, yet somehow, they're actually trying to pretend it's better than it is. Hopefully with the review scores even betraying EA, we finally get some people in that building that care about a quality product. Maybe we can get an NFL player that didn't get cut so often in there.
At this point gamers need to start looking at the NFL as well. EA Tiburon is not going to change. This has been going on for well over a decade now.

What we probably need is a higher power than the NFL to step in and break this up. Until that happens, NFL gaming is completely dead in terms of new releases.

Because as far as the money side no one will do anything. I've never seen the consumers of Madden hold the NFL liable or voice their opinions to the NFL directly.

I was running a TD in with Bijan, and got tripped up from behind right before. Realistically he woulda fell forward for the TD, But EA said nah. We gonna make him fall backwards somehow n not get the TD 🤦🏿♂️😂

Every Madden video you make only reinforces that I was right to purchase APF 2K8 for my 360 last year. I also believe Madden would be slightly, and I do mean slightly less derided if it claimed to be an arcade game and not "simulation football". As we all say, never stop tearing into EA, Ryan!

Not gonna lie I wish 2k would just make All Pro Football 2k24 I'll take that until the exclusive license is no more. It's been years and I really miss playing a quality football game that relies on actual football logic and not head scratching animations and lack of football knowledge. Like knowing actual X's and O's mean absolutely nothing in Madden and it's sickening.
X Factors and SuperStar Abilities being animation driven should have been our warning.

I tried to play it but without nfl and the way the models was mediocre and the stats over laysandgraphics

EA is so lucky 2K decided to not put out a non-licensed game. If 2K had put out a non-licensed game in 2011 or heck even a non-licensed college football game, they would have the NFL license rn
It hit different when clint isn't doing his homework on apf 2k8, which is 3 console's better than madden.

Ryan, I think we have to come to the realization that specifically people like Clint and other members of EA sports truly believe they’re putting out a superior product, they believe what they deliver every year is the best thing on the market and they don’t see it any other way
Its unreal to see him say it still, he really thinks this game replicated his NFL experiance - which to be honest was just camps and practice squads. Those are the most overlooked aspects of the game.

I miss the jumbo trans showing the live action madden needs to add that back too and chain gang and a real highlight show for halftime and franchise mode, MLB the show needs highlight show for franchise too

That and it's just not worth it to keep fighting this fight. I've found solice in NBA2k and MLB the show. I haven't bought Madden since 19. I'm a franchise and gameplay player and Madden is trash in both areas. I still subscribe to Ryan but this game will never improve until their sales drop or EA fires Clint.
I feel like a class action lawsuit should be possible. How can one company have a monopoly, excuse me, exclusive rights, and put out a garbage product? Not only is the simulation shit, but if you get past that and still try to enjoy it, there's a possibility of corrupt data that deletes all your saved franchises. I maybe play Madden for 20-40 hours a year. I try to run a franchise during NFL season to occupy myself while watching games on Sundays, but it gets so infuriating that I don't remember last time I completed a full season. Admittedly haven't payed full price since '09.
Clint is so delusional and refuses to learn I can see why he got cut from NFL teams! From APF 2k8 and even ESPN NFL 2k5 is loads better than Madden now! Even the Maddens of the ps2 era is better and dare I say up to madden 12. Clint is out of touch and tone deaf.

I really wish 2k would make another APF game with more legends, better graphics, deep customization, franchise mode, My Crib, Situational football mode, new commentary and presentation like 2k5. They wouldnt need to worry about the NFL license if they made a game like that
99% of the time i open madden24 it starts up as if its my 1st time playing making me have to choose passing preference which in turn i have to go do all settings over again

I was too young to play ESPN NFL back in the day, plus I didn't really know about Football. Seeing how freaking deep the 2k generation was makes me wonder when exactly companies realized that they could replace actual content with microtransactions.

Madden has a huge problem with the placement of the football in players hands. The football phases in and out of hands, the football becomes a players hand, players hold the football like it’s taped to the back of their hands, the football teleports between hands, players can stiff arm with the football, players can use air bending to bring footballs in for a catch. Shit is ridiculous.
I was playing 2K8 and got sacked because I got distracted by how perfectly the pocket had been created.

Hopefully after EAs contract is up the NFL will open up the Exclusive rights so we can get a proper and legit great NFL Simulation video game. Also, look at how the receiver catches the ball with his left hand under the ball, but when the tackle animation triggers, he changes his entire posture as if he had just caught the pass with his left hand on top.
They switched his catch animation mid catch to make it fit with he tackle animation that triggered.
Please do one on franchise mode and how messed up draft classes are. All generated players come out the same size and you can edit them, their physique sliders and weights change nothing. A 6’5 330lb lineman looks like a 5’10 190lb DB
EA marketing gibberish will always win over the complaints from the community. EA has 12 years of data which says the marketing team can just say anything and no one will stand up and hold EA accountable ✅

I love APF2K8 but it’s damn near impossible to run the football. The defense always shuts down my running backs completely or keeps them to 2 yards per carry; it’s almost like the game knows the play I’ve called. Even behind a bad O-line, there’s no way in hell Emmitt Smith rushes 18 times for 6 years.

Thats 1 thing I love about 2k8, attention to detail on the sidelines, cheerleaders and BETTER HALFTIME....madden on had 2 instant replays for halftime while 2k8 had like 7 replays at halftime

They talk about physics but the physics are laughable.

Try a video showing speed onside kicks. Did one yesterday and the ball went through the receiving team and was there for the taking, but my recovery team ran towards the receiver who went into an animation and missed the ball. They didn’t start running towards the ball until the receiving team started to, and obviously they got there first
Since I only ever played Sega's 2K series I always assumed it was easy to make realistic looking football games. EA's garbage efforts disproved that notion and now I realize how amazing the 2K programmers must have been.
If only the people who made 2k8 put in a decent franchise mode

One of the best football games I’ve played, I haven’t played it in a while. I bought another copy of it and look forward to playing again. Madden has (in my opinion) never been on the same level as the 2k games

I get it's fun for fans to all pile on and trash something. Forget the haters and bad actors out there. But take all that out of it and just focus on this: Every year the videogame industry looks at your product and says it's poor. Are you proud of that? Do you take pride in your work? If I handed in a project at my job and the whole industry I'm based in collectively looked at it and said it was terrible, I would be embarrassed. Seriously. Are you ashamed to see what your peers in the videogame industry accomplish on games like NBA2K, Last of Us or Starfield and you guys present THIS? A game where football goes through defenders and players hands when caught?
Red Dead 2 (2018...on a Xbox One btw) has horse balls that shrink in cold weather. But you can make a lineman getting blocked by 2 players look realistic?
Its this bad AND Clint felt it "blured the lines" of actually playing in the NFL.
@@RyanMoody21 I've always wondered how these people stay employed with results like this and then it hit me. Madden isn't broken. That product does EXACTLY what it's designed to do every year. Sell MUT packs. So what if game saves get deleted or the game menu is laggy. Did we sell more MUT packs than last year? Then the product is working as intended. That's why the devs are so combative on Social media when they get criticized. "It's better than a 1 rating". Remember that? That's a symptom of the company your working for telling you "Great Job" and the customer your selling to saying "This is bad".
Keep fighting the good fight Ryan. But unless things change from the top or there is competition? Madden will never improve. Because there is no reason for it too. Smh. Shame.

Well Clint gave me a lay up with his, "Madden is like the NFL" comments.
I played Madden 24 this weekend because it was free to play (which is telling for a game that’s a month old) for NFL kickoff. I’ll say in a couple of games the gameplay seemed better than the last 2 games and maybe I got lucky but I didn’t see anything egregious happen in my time with the game. I actually saws some new and more realistic collision animations that reminded me of when they put the infinity engine in last gen. But I said that to say I played NFL 2k5 last night and while I had fun with that game, and I think it was ahead of madden at its time and for maybe a decade later, there was a ton of jank and bad animations and programming logic in those games too. And for as great as it was it’s still a ps2 game with the limitations of that era, and even with Maddens issues, playing a game that has only 8 directions of player movement is really rough compared to any game that 3d game that we have now.
i got the free trial for the weekend and the game is honestly terrible lmao. Only positive is if it’s anything like the past 3 years I’ll be able to play the game for the rest of the year for free

I listed my ps5 for sale today, madden broke me. Screw madden and sports games, im tired of being screwed.
It’s astonishing to me that after almost a decade of working with the Frostbite engine that EA still can’t figure out how to get players to move and interact without sliding and warping all over. They’re like trains on an invisible pre-determined track.
Contrast that with the 2K products from almost 20 years ago getting fluid and realistic results from far lesser software and hardware that they only had worked with for a mere dev cycle or two.
So either EA is completely incompetent, or just flat out does not give a damn. Given the meathead that’s producing the game, I’d say it’s a bit of both.

I don’t mind post play Animations and movement because it brings more realism to the game but the warping animations during game play are terrible. Running forms could be more realistic and different based on weight n body types idk I’m just not overall impressed with madden I’ve accepted the truth already. Until ppl stop buying the game and hit ‘em wear it really hurts there aint gone be a change.

Through the many years now, EA sports has missed the opportunity to replicate the NFL, mind you this is the same company that has the NFL at it’s disposal. And they never use the NFL assets. For example, all the music in madden is generic non-NFL license music there scoreboard generic, non-NFL or network scoreboards. And that’s all minor compared to the poor gameplay EA sports delivers year in and year out.

There's clearly a reason why Clint never made it off the practice squad and onto a 52 man roster.
He never raised the bar for himself to be where everyone else was. He settled for just being there and having the experience, which I guess is fine for some. Big surprise that all these years later, we got this dude incapable of raising the bar for the only game with the NFL license , failing miserably to at least replicate the NFL experience on the simplest level possible.
