Hi Trond the goldcrest has to be one of the cutest little birds on the planet and you capture them so beautifully. Until next time take care and stay safe my friend.
We get goldcrests visiting a large christmas tree in our garden, in Dorset, UK. They seem to pass through periodically - they are not here all the time, but I have managed to stand a few feet from the tree and photograph them! I loved the footage of the ones you watched, and your images are lovely. I found your tips regarding the settings useful. I also learned something else - about how often they have to feed. Wow! No wonder they are on the hunt all the time! Enjoyed this video very much!
Lovely video Trond and some great images. I love Gold & Firecrests, incredibly active and constantly on the move so some really awesome images there, never realised their legs are done vibrant in colour! Nice work mate. All the best R 👍
Great pictures. I don’t have the skills or patients yet to get good pictures of small birds. Those are skills I am working on and I learn a lot from your videos.
Hey Trond, the Goldcrest is very much like our Ruby Crown Kinglet here, small and fast! You are very patience, that's what it takes when being in the blind. Wonderful video and photos! Say'in hey.... Greg
Well I got a lucky snap of a Goldcrest this week at my local reserve ! Nothing like your hide set up, actually taken from in the Cafe area ! So many birds there awesome Trond love it ! 👍😍
Náročnosť fotografovania a filmovania Regulus regulus som si vyskúšal. Najlepšie by sa fotografoval, keby sme použili sekundové lepidlo.... Samozrejme, je to žart. Regulus regulus je môj miláčik... Krásne video.
Beautiful shots of the golden crowned kinglet. But I don't see how you can do it at 1/200 to 1/250 sec. Even when that little bird is sitting still its head is still moving all the time as it scans for insects. Didn't you get a lot of blurred heads? I usually set my shutter at 1/1000 and f/stop at 5.6 or 4 and leave the iso on auto. But if the light is smooth and even I will shoot full manual. I know, different strokes for different folks, and you have to do what works for you. It is all good work.
I shoot these guys here in southern Ontario Canada. They can be a pain to get good shots on. Even harder is getting a shot with them flaring up the big yellow crown.

Great shots Trond. Those Goldcrests seem very fast, but absolutely beautiful little birds. We get some cool Warblers in the Spring. Cheers, man.

Thats awesome! They are such a cool little bird. Thanks!
Great Photos Trond, it’s not easy to get the little Goldcrest sitting still long enough to photograph. They’re constantly on the move. 👍🏻
Thanks a lot Mike! They are lightning fast ;)

Great images, but that Nikon is loud. I've gotten used to silent electronic shutter.
Love that sound!
Thanks a lot Kevin! It is....a z9 is coming my way some day :)
Hello mister nice this video !

Nice Trond!
Can't wait to do this and try to capture some nuthatches. I finally got a 500mm F4 AF-S non vr.
Thats great! Best of luck
Best👌🏽😊
How do you attract the birds ? Do you use calls?
Hej Trond. In the last video you had the new 500mm f4 - Was it only for testing?
Hey Jesper! This video is shot before I got the new lense. That is the reason why I have the old one :)

Hi Trond i just have one question for you. When you are out and photographing birds are you using any birdsounds to have the birds come to you?
With the goldcrest I use a little sound to attract them in the area. After that they are in flock and react to each other.
