Thank you, Joy! We started collecting in 2010, with our first "village" on a pool table, so for 14 years now. We have been adding just a few select items each year since.
Thank you! The main trains are On30 scale (narrow gauge), which run on HO-gauge track. The smaller train, which is the villagers' "garden" train, is Z-scale and gauge.
I do not have a video, but I have a web page (with photos) that details how to install a DCC sound decoder-equipped modern chassis into these locomotives. See sites.google.com/view/marksmodelrailroads/how-tos/convert-holiday-trains (there's a PDF document version you can download from there, also). I have customized and installed just a decoder into one, but it is a tedious and time-consuming process that requires milling into the chassis metal (risking damage to the locomotive workings). I've analyzed the cost difference, and to me, it is not worth the time or expense compared to just swapping out the chassis parts as shown in my web page. The end result of the chassis swap is much cleaner, also!
🎉WOW Love this Christmas village 👍😀
Wow, Mark! What an incredible village! Must have taken a long time to build this, well done! 🎄🚂 🌟

Very nice! What gauge are the trains?

Can you make a video on how to install a decoder into one of those locomotives
