Just to be accurate, he deleted the resonator, NOT the muffler. On JGC's, the muffler is closest to the engine, the resonators have attached tail pipes. Mufflers do just that, they quiet the sound of the engine exhaust, resonators are used to eliminate resonances (hence the name) at certain frequencies (raspiness).
@@mar408io California is pretty strict about their smog testing so not really sure what would happen, its best to ask someone who has removed either their mufflers or resonators.
@@mar408io Yes, but the amount of horse power is unknown this would have to be dynoed before and after the modifications. If I had to guess I would say maybe 5-10 HP more
My mom and my dad's cars have the same engine but somehow sound different. My dad's is a Chrysler 200 super s and my mom's is a Jeep Grand cherokee overland both 2014.
could be different things such as different exhaust parts like downpipe, resonator or muffler. You can make all sorts of different tones by modifying those
Im wanting to get my '14 laredo straight piped when i go to the shop what do i ask??? I feel like theyre gonna say do u want y pipe x pipe catback etc etc I want the set up like yours so what do i tell them? And do i have to source parts or anything for them or do they do everything?
Hey, So just to confirm I went through your years exhaust diagram and it's the same as mine was. All you need to say is I want a muffler delete with a Y pipe welded on(single inlet to dual outlet) with exhaust tips. I got lucky and the shop I went to he had everything and gave me a great price for the work and parts. Most exhaust shops should have the parts but sometimes it cheaper to bring the parts to them, just get quotes from different people. Best thing to do is just show this video to them and they'll understand what they need to do. Send me ab email and I can send you the pictures at the end of video if you want to print them out for the shop. Hondafordayz@gmail.com Thanks

Thanks for the correction, just looked at the OEM exhaust parts list and you are correct
Does this give you more horse power
If I do the same do I mess up my warranty I am in northern California and what about smog

I already got dual exhaust just need to take off the Resonators
I upgraded my Grand Cherokee V6 exhaust with Vibrant 1792 and use a 4" tip. Perfect sound!

Is would I be able to do the same here in northern California and not mess up my warranty
You said no drone right?
It drones on start up but once warmed up it sounds clean
@@poor_n_rich how does it sound on highway cruising speed? I’ve heard some people say drone or not but I like your setup and might consider it
is a muffler delete the same a resonator delete?
A resonator delete would not be as loud as a muffler delete, also a big weight difference mufflers are way heavier
@@poor_n_rich Oh ok so you deleted your muffler but kept the resonator on? yes?
@@peruface yeah just a muffler delete, resonator is still there
@@poor_n_rich how the gas mileage? Does the muffler delete reduce ur gas mileage?
@@mrno3525 about the same, but hearing that sound makes you have a heavy foot for sure
