I was really hoping this was going to be a discussion about the battery powered generators. Perhaps a topic for the future?
By “battery powered generator”, do you mean a battery?
I have 2 x 3kva honda gen sets & can run them on both lpg & petrol...vented correctly....not a problem...😊
I have a one cyl. Yanmar with a 125 amp. Balmar Alternator. It works great!
Honda Generator, same issue with CO-gas IN the cabin. Never ever.
Not much content here fellas.
Oh such such negativity. I've carried a Honda 2000 on board since I converted to Electric Propulsion in 2008 and now have a Champion 3400 watt generator too. Never had a problem. Of course common sense rules the day. Exhaust directed over the side or aft at the stern. Always drained the Honda fuel tank if storing below. Only use about two to ten gallons at most all season carried on deck in two small jerry jugs and are never stored in a locker. Another advantage of small on deck generators is they are more easily maintained than a "marineized" one crammed down below decks. Also easily replaced as technology advances and removed off the boat for home use.
Yup...My bet is Nigel want's everyone to have an Integral. I'm sure years ago (before his involvement with Integral), he carried a portable generator :).
OK, This one prompted me to write my first comment on UA-cam. So many issues here to comment on so I‘ll sum up my overall feeling that this video should be deleted by PYS. It‘s simply not based in fact and mixed with extreme biased discussion by Jeff and Nigel to the point that its a waste of time from two otherwise knowledgeable people. There are always pros and cons associated with anything to do with boating equipment and this video presents no counter-argument. I‘m disappointed in PYS for posting this with little regard for providing any serious analysis. Only thing here is two prognosticators musing about their own opinions. I used to respect these two “experts“ but no longer….
