    Firts 3 seconds says it all: LOTS OF REVERB. 😍
    T5 or T5z, lots of reverb, and a Roland Jazz chorus... Seems like a good dream combo over there. Im on it!

    I own one she’s truly spot on this guitar will Mezmerize you every time you plug-in in a live setting recording or just for inspiration playing and delight. The fact that you can play it even unplugged still give you the nice sound to be inspired it’s an awesome perk.

    I got my T5-z when I was 17 and it was the first expensive guitar I ever bought... I'm getting back into playing after spending a few years in music school where I stopped pursuing my own music. I'm excited to finally start to understand how to use this beautiful instrument works 🥰

    I was searching for my next guitar when I discovered the T5z. I found one at Guitar center locally and right away fell in love with the feel of this guitar in my hands and lap. It just feels right to me. This lady’s video just about stopped me from breathing for a moment. She made some of the most crazy beautiful sounds with this instrument and made it look easy enough that even a novice like me could do it. I bought one today! I sure hope I can be worthy of such an amazing instrument. I like both electric and acoustic even more , but I’m not crazy about those big boxy guitars.

    I took in my 1992 Washburn AE to the store where I bought it in 92, to get it fretted by their luthier, while there I wandered into the acoustic guitars, and saw the Taylor T5z sassafras and gave it a go, absolutely love it, I didn't have any idea that it had a hidden humbucker for the neck, I moved the knobs and slide around, and sure liked the sound, but had no idea how to set it, yours is a great explanation of how to set for what, thanks, I dislike the practice with a big bulky acoustic, like the compact of it, and light, I noticed if I put a knee up like a classical guitarist it balances perfectly with no need for a strap, guessing im going to drive back and make it mine

    Really glad you're promoting the T5/T5z, it doesn't get the love it deserves.
    Really a special guitar, that was unfortunately pinned as "It's acoustic AND electric" which is nonsense.. it's neither. It's like a great hollowbody that works for so many things.

    Amen Ms.D! I have a custom mahogany version. I used to have a straight T5 standard and I traded it in for the custom and never looked back. I agree with you on the tone settings. My favorite is the middle number three position through distortion with a wah pedal. I play a lot of Santana. That guitar is the most perfect fit for me and I am never going to get rid of it. Very nice video. Glad to be among such a talent and a sister who loves this guitar as much as I do. I have a picture of your wood tone version on my computer because I could never afford that great one ha ha ✌️👍👏😊🤘🎸🎼

      What's the difference between the straight standard and the custom? Are you talking about the t5z or I don't know which models you're talking about

    • @robertblanks9602
      @robertblanks9602 2 роки тому

      @@RSchannel777 I was referring to the different size of the T fives. My first one was a standard.
      the larger T5. The T5Z is the smaller body which you and I are using. That’s the difference. Only in size. They have different labels for them such as custom, standard, Kia, etc.

    Nice video. I have a T5 Koa (not a Z) and it is just an amazing guitar. I'm not a great player at all but I prefer electric and it lets you practice electric guitar acoustically because of the elsctric strings. And..........it looks fantastic!! There really just isn't another guitar like it.

    Great demo and agreed great guitar (I bought one last year). I do however have one major reservation, for me switch position 1 is pretty much unusable. It's really toppy with lots of fret and string squeak. Whether it's faulty I don't know, but even rolling the treble off doesn't give me that rich resonant acoustic sound I was hoping for.
    I'll pop it back to the dealer at some point to get it checked, but till then - if I want an acoustic sound - I either use pos 2 or just mic it up with a stereo pair of SD condensers - which gives surprisingly good results for such a thin hollow-body guitar.

    I've considered to choose this guitar because it's a really wonderful instrument, but finally I settled with one of their acoustics with a cutaway. The reason is that the T5z neck is a bit too narrow to play fingerstyle or classical oriented pieces with comfort. Just 1 or 2 mm more plus a careful string spacing design can make a lot of difference. And the sound of the acoustic guitar is so impressively beautiful that I was blown away. To fill the gap, I'm patiently waiting for the Taylor archtop jazz guitar, hoping that the neck dimensions meet my requirements.

      I thought all Taylor necks were, essentially, interchangeable as they’re more-or-less identical. I have a T5-X Classic and a 514ce and they’re both equally comfortable to play (maybe the T5 with its lighter string gauge has the edge, to be fair). Having said all that, I haven’t actually played a T5z so I’m happy to stand corrected if this has a narrower neck profile.
      I was also surprised to hear the presenter say that the T5z is “semi-hollow”. My T5-X Classic is a full hollow-body and my understanding was that it was the T3 range that are semi-hollow/semi-acoustic (à la Gibson 335). Again, happy to be put right if I’ve misunderstood this.

    • @mer1red
      @mer1red 2 роки тому +2

      @@davepinnell Taylor necks come with different scale lengths and nut widths. A 514ce has a neck which is about 1.5 mm wider than the T5z. One may say it's not much, but for me it does matter. I've never looked inside a T5z, but based on some specs it should indeed be a hollow body.

    Nice video. Daria would probably be a great guitar teacher. Granted, I know nothing about her. First time seeing her here on YT.
    I do give Taylor Guitars some credit for making a left-hand version of this T5z. Granted, we don't get all the cool colours that the RH version gets, but it's a start I guess.

    Why is this called a "guitar" demo when we get amps and effects along with it? Why is it no one demos guitars clean so we can HEAR THE GUITAR and not all of the add on junk many players do not have and that camoflages the sound? I know what I can add. I want to HEAR THE GUITAR, not the add-ons.
