this is awesome but i really wanna know where to buy a cable that long
Lol plini
Remember these days plini? Lol
so he scaled the summit to do this video
yea something like that lol
I had forgot about this band !!! So much joy coming back to it, YES I FIND IT BACKKK !!!
Imagine a Scale the Summit show in the middle of the mountains, at sunset...perfection!
This song is 10x better when you're driving across the country side somewhere.
:)
I could only imagine...
Bryan Yazzie Don't imagine, go out and do it! :) I do it all the time, and it's just incredible.
Man I can't believe this is 8 years old now. Time sure does fly.
That bit at 2:05 tho
So simple, but so damn good. I could listen to it all day, especially with Mark's bass at the front.
thanks man. i filmed Olive Tree and Narrow Salient while I was up there as well. will be releasing those spaced out with play throughs from the guys over the next month. keep an eye out! -chris
Chris, you should upload make make public the video of Mark doing the bass playthrough for this song. I know he isn't in the band now, but that video was an insanely good advert for the music. I bought records off the back of that video.
This video never gets old
I was watching this and thought...Damn this looks like Colorado... And it is! I just moved from Colorado to Philadelphia, and I miss it SO much! Colorado is the place to be. I can't wait to come home for the Summer and go camping. I love that your music makes me think of how epic nature is. Keep up the awesome music!
The Lives Of The Wild Ones Well the album cover for The Migration is downright the most Nature-ific cover art I have yet to see so it's only fitting that such emotions are felt
The Lives Of The Wild Ones it was in Colorado he told me
See this, other bands? This is how you end an album.
Yes sir!! Master Finish.
Ugh god, it's so unsatisfying.
I love it.
I think I spent more time admiring how amazing that landscape is than watching the actual guitar playing haha
This is some of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard
I just picked up this album about a week ago and i can't stop playing it. This is one of my favorite songs and i can't wait to catch your show next week in Austin. Keep it up guys
It's literally the most beautiful day possible to film this.
Fuck man, amazing guitar work with an amazing landscape. both complementing each other in the best ways possible. The fuck am I doing with my life.
I just wanted to let you guys know that this album is your best work yet and is, in my opinion, one of the greatest albums ever written!
December we'll be heading your way, so keep an eye out!
Gorgeous.
Still my favorite scale song to date.
Probably because they were on tour and were most likely playing a show in CO and executed the idea while they were there. CO is indeed beautiful.
I mean.. how cool is this?
The landscape is exactly what i imagine when i listen to scale the summit! Couldnt have chosen a better location chris :D
hey man, got to meet you briefly last night in CT. Just wanted to say thanks man you are a huge inspiration
mesmerising
Fave scale tune
Look at the epicness... it's (at) over 9,000
Perfect
anything filmed outside with new audio would be direct. easiest way to do it. it was super windy up there, the grass hopper noise alone was insanely loud through the camera mic. -chris
Fantastic!
Its been like that every day here in Co for weeks now! Great state.
Que buen fondo de pantalla!.
I'd love to see the bass playthrough for this song, it sounds mad!
This is....amazing. Brought a tear to my eye..
awesome music. awesome scenery.
We love you Chris!! Great album indeed!
Great!
Fantastic.
I concur, definitely epic.
Wonderful view.
I had a hard time paying attention to him playing. xD
Guys PLEASE Europe Tour I cannot wait to see you live.
that ending is filthy
The migration is just a beautiful and perfect piece of artwork, i love it, thanks for your playing!, hope to have more of your music in the future!
Just saw you guys this past weekend in Houston with Jolly and The Reign of Kindo! Absolutely incredible show and I can't wait till the next time you guys come back!
ROCK ON
Dat slidey as fudge solo haha. Love it Chris!
Its so pretty behind Chris, also graet music
Badass.
Well, this is cool and neat.
chris you totally needed sunglasses bro hahaha, nice work as always
I'll try and 'summit' all up: Perhaps he 'peaked' to early in this video. There are so many Hima-layers to his playing.
You sir, have won.
loved it! what an epic view! and totally suits the music too
You should do all play throughs in scenic places haha.
oh man, I can't get over the part at 4:14 it's just so awesome
beautiful background and guitar
love you guys!
Swwwwwwwweeeeeet! So smooth & fluid.
you are amazing, my guitar teacher was showing me this video today and we were just talking about how amazing u are so keep up the good work, by the way i heard u live in houston i think and i'm not to far from you i'm down here in corpus christi
this is just amazing!
Guitar X Transcendentalism = Bliss
great video :-D I did one outside like this in the Pyrenees last week : it's awesome to play outside :-)
thanks a lot! glad you love. -chris
I wouldn't think about it that way. listen to this and see him play it and it is kind of deflating, but it quickly encourages me to keep playing, so I can be like this some day. It's paying off, since I'm learning how to do the part at 3:52. It's horribly sloppy right now, but the more I practice, the more clean it becomes. :)
That had to be a lot of fun! Well done, sir. :)
Awesome!
I wondered how long it'd be before I heard that Axe FX vinyl patch on a track, haha. Very nice use of it though, might I say ;)
Taking the band name literally I see. Face melted as always.
great video :P
Oh guys so amazing like this ^_^
o.O wow
On vacation. Grandparents live/lived nearby when he was younger.
Ah...home :)
Why can't all play thoughts be in such beautiful places?!
Props from CO \m/
Awesome stuff. Reminds me of TSF to be honest. And that aint a bad thing in my book!
hell yea man! keep up the good work!
How can someone be so creative?! I just discovered your work today and I'm totally in love! Where do you get your inspiration from?
So this must be what inspired Oscar Hammerstein. Hmm maybe The title and vintage sounding intro must be clues that STS has harnessed the ability to time travel?..
The solo at 4:13 is my favorite. Your band's ability to use slides, bends, and rests sets you apart from so many progressive musicians because it adds emotion and flare. Fantastic work. Your album's been on replay since it came out.
Let the mountains be your amp!
No, they don't, but they do have wind that would be brushing past the mic at that height adding unwanted to noise to this video...
those clouds were moving so slow!
I'm sorry, but isen't this just a quiet video dubbed with the actual audio from the CD? TBH i liked the playthroughs where you could actually hear the man play. Maybe it's just mixed to well, i don't know. but i prefer the other playthroughs, all though the location and filming is amazing.
Damn, that's one hell of a backdrop.
@ChrisLetchford'sPick where do yoy go when he taps?? #theinvisiblepick
+supadoob ha, I tuck it with middle finger. MAGIC - chris
4:24 is simply an eargasm
Da faces @ 4:56 & 5:47 get me every time.
We're did y'all shoot this?
Oh wao :D
Awesome British progressive metal band! True British Power! \m/
europe tour plz
just met him and his wife like 45 minutes ago can't believe I met them they came into the store I work at here in Pagosa Springs which looks like the video he's in is in Pagosa Springs most likely not but it looks like Pagosa
hey man! this video was shot up by Wolf Creek!
scalethesummit What! I thought that place looked familiar. agin my mind is blown.
in the album which guitar you used to record this?
I hope you had sun-blocker on :D
Naturecore.
chris is totally attractive..sincerely, creepy fangirl :P
What kind of filter is at the begging of the song?
Scenery would be better if it weren't for those damn pine beetles, i was in that area last week and entire mountain sides were dead.
can anyone lipread what he says at the very start of the video?
cause its beautiful?
